2K to 10K Betting Challenge (Bet No 57 ) Sat 13th July

2K to 10K Betting Challenge Continues on Saturday at Ascot .

The betting bankroll stands at £2931 ,after Raselasad finished second in 7f handicap at Musselburgh last week .

Bit of frustrating race as Raselasad looked the clear winner two furlongs out, when going clear ,trading as short as 1-50 in running ,though was caught in the closing stages by fast finishing Tribal Warrior for £6.00 loss .Stakes remain the same at £118.00

Moving on to Saturuday we have some top quality racing ,including the July Cup from Newmarket ,though going concentrate on the feature race from Ascot .9 runners declared for G2 Summer Mile on ground described as Good/firm .The three main contenders are Beat The Bank , Accidental Agent & Zaaki .

BEAT THE BANK : 5-Y-0 Bay Gelding ,winning 8 out 17 .Very useful sort in this grade ,including winning this race last year .Been in decent form this season ,winning G2 Bet365 Mile at Sandown in April .Also finished excellent second in G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot last time . Has 3lb penalty ,though obvious claims returning to group two company .

ACCIDENTAL AGENT : 5-Y-0 Bay Horse ,winning 5 out 18 .Not the most consistent sort ,though useful on his day ,including winning G1 Queen Anne stakes in 2018 .Not won since, though did finish creditable third in G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May .Each-way claims on best form ,though did refuse to race at Ascot last time .

ZAAKI : 4-Y-0 Bay Gelding ,winning 4 out 12 .Shown progressive form this season ,winning both starts at Ascot & Epsom ,including winning the G3 Diomed stakes last time .Looks open to further improvement this season, though will need a career best to land this G2 contest .

VERDICT : BEAT THE BANK stands out returning to G2 company, has an excellent record in this grade winning 4 out 4 ,including winning this race last year .Ran as well as ever when just touched off in G1 Queen Anne Stakes last time .Odds around 7-2 look very fair value .

Devastating news about the popular Beat The Bank, one my favourite horses over last few years ,sadly passed away after winning the Summer Mile, suffering multiple leg fractures near the winning line .Such a brave horse.Had fantastic record under group one level 9 out 10.Will be sadly missed.RIP Big Fella .Will always be remembered.
