2K to 10K Betting Challenge (Bet No 53 ) Tue 18th June

2K to 10K Betting Challenge continues on Tuesday on Day One of Royal Ascot.

The Betting Bankroll stands at £2737 after Safe Voyage landed gamble in G3 John Of Gaunt stakes at Haydock  7-2 into 5-4 for nice £192.00 profit after the R4 deduction .The stakes increase to £110.00 .

Moving on to Day one at Royal Ascot.Plenty top quality races on first day, including three group one races, though going concentrate on one supporting races the Wolferon Stakes at 5.35 .

16 Runners declared for 10f listed contest on ground described as good ,though thunderstorms forecast .This looks competitive listed contest on official BHA ratings. The three main contenders are Elarqam , Addeybb , Magic Wand .

ELERQAM : 4-Y-0 Bay Colt, winning 3 out 8.Useful sort on his day, including finishing fourth in 2000 Guineas last season.Made promising reapperance finishing fourth in G3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket in April .That race could hardly worked out better with winner Zabeel Prince & third Mustashry both winning G1 races next time.Made no mistake when dropped in class at Goodwood last time, winning 10f listed race in good style.Obvious claims in same grade.

ADDEYBB : 5-Y-0 Chestnut Gelding ,winning 5 out 11 .Had some useful form last season especially on soft ground ,including winning G2 Bet365 mile at Sandown in April .Been disappointing since in group company ,though will be suited by this drop in class. However has yet to fully prove he really stays this 10f trip .

MAGIC WAND : 4-Y-0 Bay Filly ,winning 2 out 13 .Decent filly ,including winning G2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last season .Also finished second twice in G1 company at Longchamp .Been running consitently this season in America ,including finishing close third in G1 Man Of War stakes at Belmont Park .Should go well taking big drop in class .

VERDICT : ELARQAM looks to be returning to top form, after winning in impressive style at Goodwood last time in listed company.Had looked very useful prospect when winning 2 out 2 as two-year-old and finishing fourth in 2000 Guineas behind Saxon Warrior.Has to defy 3lb listed penalty ,though looks capable of winning in higher grade this season.Odds around 9-2 look fair value .

The only filly in the race Magic Wand looks the main danger .Has some useful form in higher grade ,including winning here at Royal Ascot in group two company .Will be suited by this big drop in class ,though the shorter trip may not be ideal .
