Been a quiet start to the week for the blog ,though on Friday evening we have interesting looking fillies listed race at York .
7 runners go to post, for decent looking 10 furlong fillies listed contest at York.On ground described as good to firm .The three main contenders look to be Pandora,Diploma & Fireglow.
PANDORA : Lightly raced 4-Y-0,winning 2 out 6 ,including winning class 3 handicap over C&D last time at York ,off mark 95,did particularly well after being very slowly away(Lost 5 lenghs at start).Looks open to improvement over this trip .
DIPLOMA :Progressive 3-Y-0,winning 2 out 5 ,including bolting up in class 3 handicap over C&D at York in May ,off mark 90.Also finished creditable fifth of 21 in 1M Sandringham H'cap at Royal Ascot ,staying on nicely at the finish .Will be suited returning to this longer trip.
FIREGLOW : Useful 2-Y-0 last season ,winning three times, including bolting up in 1M Montrose Listed stakes at Newmarket on soft ground .Not won this season ,though finished excellent 4TH in 1000 guineas at Newmarket in May.Obvious claims being 10LB clear on official ratings .
VERDICT : Fireglow is clearly the one to beat on official ratings, having finished 4TH in 1000 guineas & 2ND in Musidora stakes this season, though her best form has come over 1 mile ,looks worth taking on over this extended 10 furlong trip .
DIPLOMA will relish the return to this longer trip ,having found the 1 mile in Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot too sharp .Had previously looked very progressive filly ,when winning in good style over C&D at York . Odds around 11-4 look solid value .
