9.00 DUNDALK 1M THIS IS THE LADBROKES LIFE H'CAP
8 runners declared for interesting little 1 mile handicap at Dundalk .The three main contenders are Excelli , Hat Alnasar & Poetic Choice .
EXCELLI : Been in excellent form this winter,winning three times at Dundalk over C&D ,including winning in good style last time in handicap company.Has taken big rise in the weights,up 28LB for those three victories .
HAT ALNASAR :Won 3 out 12 at Dundalk ,including winning over C&D at Dundalk last month in handicap company .Finished fair 3RD last time off 3LB higher ,when getting caught close home in stronger 0-98 handicap at Dundalk .
POETIC CHOICE :Consistent mare,formerly trained in UK by Nick Littmoden,not the best strike rate winning 2 out 26,though has been in good form recently at Dundalk ,for trainer Keith Henry Clarke,finishing placed on last three starts,including getting touched off last time in 7F handicap .
VERDICT : Hat Alnasar is very consistent sort, and will be popular with Pat Smullen riding for first time ,has to be respected, though faces no easy task with Poetic Choice at the revised weights.
At the prices POETIC CHOICE looks the each-way value ,has been knocking on the door in handicaps here recently, and has 9LB pull in weights with Hat Alnasar ,when beating that rival narrowly in December over C&D .Odds around 5-1 look good value .
