6.35 Galway 12F Oyster Listed Stakes (Fillies & Mares)

Nice winner on Saturday for the blog ,with Rouleau winning the G3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton at recommended 3-1 .For £180.00 profit on the day, going off very well supported 2-1 favourite.

For the blogs main bet on Monday, we are off to the West coast of Ireland for good looking fillies & mares 12F listed race at Galway .

6.35 GALWAY 12F FILLIES & MARES OYSTER LISTED STAKES:
10 runners declared for Oyster Listed stakes over 12 furlongs on ground described as yielding .The three main contenders look to be Dark Crusader , Almela & Zhukova

DARK CRUSADER : Won 4 from 21 starts ,including winning 14f conditions race at Galway at the end of July on soft ground .Finished staying on third in 12 furlong listed race at York last time ,behind the John Gosden trained Marlet .Each-way claims ,though seems better horse over 14 furlongs .

ALMELA : Beautifully bred Sea The Stars filly, Bolted up on debut in weak Maiden over C&D at Galway in August ,beating 67 rated rival by 19 lenghs .Not easy to assess on that form ,though couldn't been more impressive .Takes big step up in class ,though open to any amount of improvement.

ZHUKOVA :Improving sort ,Won weak 10F maiden at Navan in June ,beating 74 rated rival by 3.25 lenghs .Showed big improvement last time, when finishing a decent 3L fourth in 12 furlong G3 contest at Cork ,behind Zannda .Looks open to plenty improvement over this trip.

VERDICT :The well bred Almela is going be all the rage here ,having won by 19 lenghs over C&D last time, though that was very weak maiden race ,and faces much stiffer task in listed company .Has to be respected ,though odds around 11-10 make no appeal .

At the prices ZHUKOVA looks over priced at 15-2,after finishing promising 4TH in group 3 company at Cork last time .That was decent effort on only her third start.Looks open to plenty improvement over this trip.
