Wednesday 15th January Claiming Stakes Bet !!!

Sad Sad news with ST NICHOLAS ABBEY losing his six month battle against injury and illness after suffering from colic on Tuesday morning .

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY was winner of £5 million in prize money ,which included three Coronation Cups ,Breeders Cup Turf , Sheema Classic & Racing Post Trophy .One of great racehorses of last decade .Will be sadly missed (ST NICOLAS ABBEY 2007-14 RIP )

Moving on to Wednesday for days best bet we go to Lingfield for 7 furlong three year old claiming stakes at 1.00 .

1.00 LINGFIELD 7F 3-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
10 runners declared for three year old claiming stakes on poly track . This doesn't look the strongest claimer with the three main contenders being Kantara Castle , Ain't No Surprise & Dancing Sal .

KANTARA CASTLE : Won four runner 9 furlong claimer at Wolverhampton last time beating Jazzy Lady by half lengh , that didn't look strongest race with Jazzy Lady finishing  last of four next time .The drop back in trip has to be concern .

AIN'T NO SURPRISE : Consistent sort ,though still maiden after seven starts .Finished second on last three starts over 6/7 furlongs . Also ran her best race here at Lingfield finishing 1.75 lengh second to Aspirant .The return to 7 furlongs should suit .

DANCING SAL : Maiden after 16 starts , has been placed six times .Including finishing second in two 6 furlong handicaps at Wolverhampton recently . Looks well treated at weights off bottom weight , though this longer trip may not suit .

VERDICT : Kantara Castle will be popular for Richard Hannon in such weak race  ,after winning claimer last time at Wolverhampton ,though that looked poor race and drop back in trip has to be concern .

AIN'T NO SURPRISE looks the each-way value in weak race, has twice finished second to 75 rated Aspirant .Will also be suited returning to 7 furlongs and doesn't look badly treated off 8 stone 10 .Odds around 7-2 look fair value .

  3. Yes, definitely deserves a win or two. I had a bet on the horse when second at Kempton. Jamie Osborne is a decent trainer, especially on the all-weather. I don't Rose Buck is very good but could go well at a price if lowly drawn in similar company. I may have a small each way bet next start in plating company. Keep up the good work.
