Thursday January 3rd Claiming Bet !!!

On Thursday we have 6 furlong three year old claiming stakes on poly track at Wolverhampton .Another small field with just five runners declared .

2.35 WOLVERHAMPTON 6F CLASSIFIED CLAIMING STAKES 0-75
Just five runners declared for 0-75 three year old classified claiming stakes at Wolverhampton .On official handicap figures this looks three horse race between Hardy Red , Hidden Coin & Windforpower .

HARDY RED : Won 6 furlong handicap at Ffos Las on heavy ground off mark 70 in September .Returned to form last week when just touched off in 7 furlong claimer at Wolverhampton .Should go well dropping back to 6 furlongs .

HIDDEN COIN :Won 6 furlong maiden on the turf at Redcar in May , though well beaten on next two starts in better company .Makes  poly track debut and not easy to assess on his first start for nearly 6 months .

WINDFORPOWER : Consistent sort ,won two races over 5 furlongs at Lingfield ,including winning weak looking 4 runner seller last time .Not badly treated off bottom weight ,though this looks stronger race.

VERDICT : This looks tight little race on official handicap ratings, with little to choose between the three main contenders.

HARDY RED ran well here last Thursday in claimer over 7 furlongs and should be suited returning to this shorter trip .Odds around 11-4 look very fair value in this small field .

Hidden Coin looks main danger if he can reproduce his turf form from last season ,though there has to be question mark about his fitness after six month break .

  1. Hi Jerry

Even though Bet Victor and Bet365 stopped offering place money when it changed to 4 runners, they didn't refund the place part of the bet, so the outlay is still a total of 2 points.
