Weekly Results Round Up !!!

Not great week with no winners from four bets for £211.00 / 2.11 pts loss on the week .In particular Saturday was disappointing day. With Majestic Myles running stinker in 7 furlong listed race at Leicester .

The odds on favourite Aljamaaheer looked worth taking on at very short odds in the race, however the selection Majestic Myles never settled pulling very hard in the race and finishing well beaten fourth .The second favourite Producer bounced back to form to win the race beating Aljamaaheer in close finish .-£100/1.00 loss on the race .

The second bet on Saturday was on Henry Cecil trained Thomas Chippendale in 10 Furlong stakes  at Sandown £50 each-way at 7-2.Thomas Chippendale ran fair enough race in second ,though was no match for Al Kazeem who won with plenty in hand .Small loss there -£6.00 /0.06

Earlier in the week there was two bets the first bet was on Wednesday in 1 mile maiden stakes at Epsom on Storming £50.00 each-way @5-1 ,though could only manage disappointing fifth for -£100 /1.00 pt loss.

The other bet was on Thursday at Newcastle in 7 furlong claiming stakes on It's Man's World £50.00 each-way @9-2  .Ran fair enough race finishing third ,though never looked like getting to the winner King Pin .Again another small loss £5.00 /0.05 .

Overall bit up and down month so far ,though hopefully we  can have much better week this week ,we have some top quality racing on Wednesday at Ascot which includes the group 3 Sagaro Stakes over 2 miles and three decent listed races.Followed on Saturday by the two day Guineas Festival .

Saturday 27th April Listed stakes bet !!

For Saturday's second bet we go to the East Midlands track at Leicester for 7 furlong listed race .

With four non runners just five runners go to post for good looking listed contest .Ground conditions are described as Good/firm ,with showers forecast .The three main contenders are Aljamaaheer ,Majestic Myles & Producer .

3.55 LEICESTER 7 FURLONG LISTED RACE :

ALJAMAAHEER :Ran well in group company last season ,finishing placed three times ,including group three Jersey stakes at Royal Ascot & group two celebration mile at Goodwood .Also won 7 furlong listed race at Newmarket .Looks sure go well returning to listed company .

PRODUCER :Won twice last season in listed & group three company ,also finished good second in handicap at Meydan in February off mark 108 ,though very disappointing last time at Meydan when finishing well beaten tenth when favourite for 8 furlong handicap .

MAJESTIC MYLES :Fair form last season in listed and group three company, won 7 furlong listed race at Chester in July .Also finished good second last week in 7 furlong conditions race at Thirsk behind Arnold lane .

VERDICT: Aljamaaheer looks to have ideal conditions here dropping back into listed company and will be difficult to beat ,though doesn't have great deal in hand on official handicap figures (2LB), looks too short in market at around 4-5

MAJESTIC MYLES looks the each-way value here against the short price favourite.Has good record in listed company (13221) and faced no easy task last time when trying to concede 7LB to 105 rated Arnold Lane in Conditions race at Thirsk .5-1 looks good value in this five runner race.

Producer can't be ruled out on last season's group form ,though looked so disappointing last time in handicap at Meydan  and will need to bounce back quickly to win this listed race.

SATURDAY 27TH APRIL LISTED STAKES BET ;
MAJESTIC MYLES 3.55 LEICESTER
0.50 PTS EACH-WAY @ 5-1 VC BET
(RESULT UNPLACED SP 9-2 LOSS £100)

Saturday 27th April Gordon Richard stakes bet

Very busy Saturday with five flat cards.Going concentrate on two races the 10 furlong Gordon Richard group 3 at Sandown & 7 furlong King Richard 111 listed race at Leicester .Will post the other bet tomorrow morning .

3.15 SANDOWN 10F GORDON RICHARDS STAKES GROUP THREE:
8 runners go to post for 10 furlong group 3 Gordon Richard stakes for 4-Y-0 + .This looks decent  group 3 contest, with heavy showers forecast the ground is likely to be on soft side .The three main contenders look to be Al Keezem ,Ektihaam & Thomas Chippendale .

AL KEEZEM :Useful performer, not been out of first two in last seven starts.Won group two jockey club stakes at Newmarket last season on his only start in May.But then missed the rest of the season with fractured pelvis .Obvious claims if fully fit .

EKTIHAAM : Won 10 furlong conditions race at Newbury last season .Also finished good second in group two Dante stakes at York .Slightly disappointing when beaten favourite in 10 furlong listed race at Goodwood on final start last season .

THOMAS CHIPPENDALE : Won twice last season both on soft ground, including group two King Edward V11 stakes at Royal Ascot beating stable companion Noble Mission .Looked non stayer in St Leger in September .

VERDICT : Al Keezem would be difficult to beat if can reproduce the form of last season's win in Jockey club stakes at Newmarket ,though having suffered fractured pelvis there has to be big question mark on his fitness here .

THOMAS CHIPPENDALE looks the one to beat after winning group two King Edward V11 stakes last year at Royal Ascot .Will be suited by this shorter trip and any rain would be major bonus.Odds around 7-2 looks fair value .

SATURDAY 27 APRIL GROUP 3 GORDON RICHARD STAKES BET:
THOMAS CHIPPENDALE 3.15 SANDOWN
0.50 PTS EACH-WAY @ 7-2 *BET365
(RESULT :SECOND SP 3-1 LOSS £6.25 )

1/4 ODDS 1-2-3

Thursday 25th April claiming stakes bet

Disappointing result on Wednesday with Storming finishing unplaced in 1 mile maiden stakes at Epsom for £100 loss .No excuses had every chance, though found very little in closing stages finishing well beaten fifth.

Bit of frustrating race as I was really keen to take on the short price favourite Legal Waves who looked poor value at 5-4 .

The two obvious ones against the favourite were Storming & Pekan One.Unfortunately made the wrong choice with second favourite Pekan One going on to win the race comfortably at 4-1 .

Moving onto Thursday we have two flat turf cards, going concentrate on 1 mile claiming stakes at Newcastle's evening card .

5.45 NEWCASTLE 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
9 runners declared for an above average class 6 claiming stakes over I mile at Newcastle on good/firm ground. On official handicap figures the three main contenders are Classic Colori , Extraterrestrial & It's Man's World .

CLASSIC COLORI :Won three times this year on All Weather at Wolverhampton in claiming & selling company. However doesn't have the greatest record on turf  (1 win from 25 starts) the last win coming back in 2009 ,though did finish good second at Newmarket in class 2 handicap in September .

EXTRATERRESTRIAL : Often runs well in decent handicaps without winning ,on long losing run (23 races) the last win coming in May 2011 .Finished good third in class 3 handicap on seasonal reappearance at Nottingham .Takes big drop in class & has to be respected in claiming company.

IT'S MAN'S WORLD :Big improver last season winning five times in handicap company over 7 furlongs & mile .Finished fair third in 7 furlong claimer on reappearance behind the useful claiming winner Polar Kite .Should go well in this similar race .

VERDICT : Not much to choose between the three main contenders at these weights .

Extraterrestrial has been running well in some decent handicaps & drops into class 6 company for first time ,though looks very short in market for horse that hasn't won for 2 years and looks worth taking on in this claimer .

IT'S MAN'S WORLD showed progressive form last season winning five handicaps and has fair strike rate on turf .Should also improve for his first run of the season and looks more reliable than his main two rivals.

Classic Colori would be big danger on his All Weather form earlier this year ,though hasn't won on turf since July 2009 ,and has never been the most consistent of performers.

THURSDAY 25TH APRIL CLAIMING STAKES BET :
IT'S MAN'S WORLD 5.45 NEWCASTLE
0.50 PTS EACH-WAY @ 9-2 SKYBET
(RESULT :THIRD SP 4-1 LOSS £5.00)

Wednesday 24th April maiden stakes bet !!!

Quiet start to the week the racing on Monday & Tuesday didn't make much appeal to say the least .

On Wednesday we have decent looking card at Epsom ,with couple interesting races .Going concentrate on 1 mile maiden stakes at 4.30

4.30 EPSOM 1 MILE 114 YDS 3-Y-0 MAIDEN STAKES :
8 Runners declared for 1 mile three year old maiden on good (good/firm) ground .This doesn't look the most competitive maiden with the three main contenders .Legal Waves, One Pekan & Storming

LEGAL WAVES :Promising debut in 7 furlong maiden at Newmarket finishing second of 17   behind Goodwood Mirage on soft ground .Looks open to improvement after just one start and should be suited by this longer trip .

ONE PEKAN : Placed on both starts on All Weather ,finishing third of 10 over 7 furlongs at Kempton in November .Followed that with second behind William Haggas trained Fehaydi at Wolverhampton over 1 mile .Looks open to improvement after just two starts.

STORMING :Improved effort last time Finishing good third in 9.5 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton behind the unbeaten Regal Hawk off mark 71.That form looks solid with the second High Troja winning handicap at Leicester next time by easy 5 lenghs .Should go well returning to maiden company.

VERDICT: Legal Waves is going to be popular here after finishing promising second in maiden at Newmarket in October ,though that was on very soft ground and has to prove he can handle this much quicker surface .Another concern is form of Brian Meehan stable not had winner this year
(0 from 10) Top price of 5-4 makes little appeal.

STORMING looks the each-way bet here after running close third in 9.5 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton last time .This slightly shorter trip should also suit after getting caught close home last time.Trainer Andrew Balding has been in fine form this season .Odds around 4-1 look very fair value in  not the strongest looking maiden .

WEDNESDAY 24TH APRIL  MAIDEN STAKES BET :
STORMING 4.30 EPSOM
0.50 PTS EACH-WAY @ 4-1 BET 365*.PADDY POWER* STAN JAMES *
(RESULT :UNPLACED SP 5-1 LOSS £100.00)

Weekly Results Round Up !!!

Solid start to the flat turf season with one winner and two places from three bets for +£188.00 /1.88 pt profit on the week.

After having disappointing start to the year on the All Weather ,its good to come back with winning start on the turf .

I found the All Weather racing really tough this winter .Anyone who reads the blog will know my main focus is claiming races, these have always been very profitable races for me on All Weather .

However with the lack of runners and the bad weather this winter, it was struggle finding suitable betting opportunities. Also the few selections I did have never really performed up to the normal standard .

With this in mind I decided to take six week break and wait for the turf season to get fully under way .Hopefully now with the turf season  under way we can have good summer and have some profitable results over next few months.

Going back to last week ,just quick summary of the bets .On Monday the first bet was in 6 furlong apprentice claiming stakes on Dandy Nicholls trained Takealookatmenow £50.00 each-way @ 7-2 .

Well supported in the market going off 11-4 second favourite .This was very straight forward for Takealookatmenow always in control, making all the running and drawing clear to win easily by 4.5 lenghs for £210/2.10 pts profit .

The second bet was at Newmarket on Wednesday in group three 7 furlong Neil Gwyn stakes on Richard Hannon trained Sky Lantern £50.00 win & place @ 7-2 / 1.86

Sky Lantern travelled well and was delivered with well timed run by Richard Hughes, though had no answers to the Henry Cecil trained Hot Snap , who stormed clear inside final furlong .No complaints here just beaten by very Smart looking filly, who is now clear favourite for 1000 guineas .Not much damage with just £12.00 loss on the race .

The final bet of the week was on Friday evening at Bath in 5 furlong fillies listed race on Caledonia Lady £50.00 win & place @ 7-2 / 1.84 .

Caledonia Lady was held up as usual in early stages and made what looked promising run on outside ,though the run seem flatten out inside the last 50 yds and had to settle for third .No real complaints with £10.00 loss on the race .

Overall quite satisfied with £188.00 profit from the first three turf bets this season .There should be plenty betting opportunities coming up over the next few weeks .

Friday 19th April Listed Stakes Bet !!

On Friday we have two flat turf cards at Bath & Newbury ,with what looks decent 5 furlong fillies listed race at Bath's evening fixture.

6.30 BATH 5 FURLONG FILLIES LISTED RACE
With three non runners 11 runners go to post for good looking 5 furlong fillies listed race .On official handicap ratings the three main contenders are Caledonia Lady ,Jwala & Excellette.

CALEDONIA LADY : Decent filly on her day, won the group three Coral Charge at Sandown in July , Also finished close second in this race last year only beaten head behind Beyond Desire .Goes well fresh and escapes a penalty for winning that group three contest .

JWALA :Improving filly last season winning three times ,including handicap over C&D at Bath .Finished the season with good second behind Sole Power  in decent looking listed race at Doncaster in September .Should go well in this listed contest .

EXCELETTE  : Consistent filly ,won 5 furlong listed race at Haydock in June .Also finished creditable third behind Sole Power in September ,only short head behind Jwala .Looks very closely matched with Jwala on that running.

VERDICT: CALEDONIA LADY looks the one to beat in this listed race, after winning decent group three contest last season at Sandown. Looked unlucky not to win this race last year ,failing by head .Odds around 7-2 look very fair value .

Jwala looks the main danger ,after improving with every run last season .

FRIDAY 19TH APRIL LISTED STAKES BET :
CALEDONIA LADY 6.30 BATH
0.50 PTS WIN @ 7-2 LADBROKES*
0.50 PTS PLACE @ 1.84 BETFAIR

(RESULT :THIRD SP 7-2 LOSS £10.00)

Wednesday 17th April Neil Gwyn Stakes Bet

Nice to start the turf season with winner. Monday's claiming bet on Takealookatmenow winning nicely at 7-2 for £210.00 profit .

Moving on to Wednesday's racing ,we have some quality action with the start of Newmarket's craven meeting ,with highlight on Wednesday being Group three Neil Gwyn stakes for three year old fillies at 4.05

4.05 NEWMARKET 7F NEIL GYWN STAKES GROUP THREE
14 runners declared for group three Neil Gwyn over 7 furlongs on good ground .The four main contenders being Sky Lantern ,Lady Nouf ,Nargy's & Winning Express .

SKY LANTERN : Won three races last season ,including winning group one Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh in September ,looked unlucky in Breeders Cup Juvenile turf at Santa Anita on her last start when badly hampered .Should go well for in form Richard Hannon stable .

LADY NOUF : Won 7 furlong maiden at Leicester in October ,looks open to plenty improvement as three year old ,though takes big step up in class .Stable in good form .

NARGY'S : Progressive filly last season ,improving with each run .Finished the season with good second in group two Rockfel Stakes over C&D at Newmarket .Looks open to plenty improvement this season .

WINNING EXPRESS : Won two out three last season ,including 6 furlong listed race at Salisbury in September .Finished good second in group one Cheverley Park stakes at Newmarket on her final start .Should be suited by this longer trip and open to improvement .

VERDICT : SKY LANTERN has to concede 3LB to all her rivals here ,though looks the class act  after winning group one Moyglare & finishing excellent second in group three Sweet Salareo stakes  behind the unbeaten filly Certify .Richard Hannon has his stable in top form with 9 winners already this month .Odds around 3-1 look very fair value in this group three contest.

Of the others Nargy's looks open to plenty improvement this season ,though Luca Cumani runners  are very rarely at there best this early in the season .

Winning Express looks sure win more races this season ,the step up in trip should suit ,though trainer Ed Mcmahon hasn't had winner since December .

Lady Nouf won what looked decent maiden at Leicester on her only start ,that form looks solid with second & third both winning fair races next time, though she takes big step up in class,Should go well for inform William Haggas .

WEDNESDAY 17TH APRIL NEIL GWYN GROUP THREE BET :
SKY LANTERN 4.05 NEWMARKET
0.50 PT WIN @ 3-1 CORALS*
0.50 PT PLACE @ 1.80 BETFAIR

Monday 15th April Claiming Stakes Bet

Finally the flat turf season kicks into gear this week ,with Newmarket staging there two day craven meeting on Wednesday & Thursday

Newbury also stage decent card on Saturday ,with the Greenham Stakes, Fred Darling stakes &John Porter stakes being there feature races .

On Monday we have three cards on the turf .At Windsor ,Redcar & Newcastle .Not great deal of quality as you would expect for Monday ,though there looks interesting low grade 6 furlong claiming stakes at Redcar .

4.40 REDCAR 6F APPRENTICE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
8 runners declared for 6 furlong apprentice claimer at Redcar on Good/Firm ground .This doesn't look the strongest claimer with three main contenders being Takelookatmenow, Liliargh & Studfarmer .

TAKEALOOKATMENOW :C&D winner at Redcar ,though been disappointing on the All Weather this winter finishing well beaten on both starts .Had shown some fair form last season on turf ,winning class 4 handicap at Ripon in June .Will need bounce back ,though stable has good record in claimers .

LILIARGH : Won 7 furlong maiden at Redcar for Ben Haslam last May.Also finished good second in 7 furlong handicap at Newcastle in October off mark 70 on heavy ground .Looked non stayer over hurdles at Catterick in February.

STUDFARMER : Won both starts on turf in selling company .Returned to form winning 6 furlong seller at Leicester in good style earlier this month, though that looked very weak selling race .Should go well though this claimer looks stronger race.

VERDICT : Studfarmer was easy winner at Leicester last time and looks well treated at the weights ,though that looked very weak selling race .Odds around 11-8  look poor value .

Liliargh has possibilities in this claimer on last years form over 7 furlongs ,though the drop back to 6 furlongs on very fast ground has to be concern and trainer Ben Haslam hasn't had winner for over 5 months .

TAKEALOOKATMENOW needs bounce back after two disappointing runs on All Weather ,though had some fair form on turf last season and has run two of her best races here at Redcar.Should go well dropping into claiming company. Odds around 7-2 look fair value .

MONDAY 15TH APRIL CLAIMING STAKES BET :
TAKEALOOKATMENOW 4.40 REDCAR
