Tuesdays best bets !!

Monday's bet on Stevie Gee was disappointing finishing well beaten sixth ,though I had bad feeling about the race when horse started to take big drift in market going off 12-1 on betfair .

The race was won by One Way or Another who landed gamble 8-1 into 5-1 on his first start for David Evans . Loss on the day - £100

On Tuesday we have the one claiming stakes on the  fibresand at Southwell.

2.30 SOUTHWELL 6F  0-70 CLASSIFIED CLAIMER  CLASS 6
14 declared runners for 6 furlong classified claimer .On paper this looks quite competitive with 6 course winners ,though very few are in any kind form at present .Soopacal , Boy the Bell and Global Village  look the three to concentrate on.

Soopacal ran excellent second last time over C&D in 6 furlong handicap behind the highly progressive Take Cover who is unbeaten in three starts .Will be suited returning to claiming company.

BOY THE BELL has been in good form this season winning four times for Brian Ellison including winning handicap over C&D back in May .Ran fair fourth at Southwell last time over 7 furlongs  on his first start for Ollie Pears .

Global Village has some decent form on poly track having won 6 races over 7 furlongs, won 7 furlong handicap in October at Wolverhampton .Drops back to 6 furlongs for first time .First run on fibresand.

VERDICT : Soopacal looks sure to go well after running very good second last time over C&D at Southwell ,though he still looks better horse over 5 furlongs having won over the trip 3 times .There remains slight question mark over 6 furlongs having yet to win from 9 attempts.

BOY THE BELL goes well here at Southwell and is best in at the weights on official handicap ratings, the drop back too 6 furlongs  won't be problem having won over the trip 4 times . 5-1 looks decent each-way value.

Mondays best bets !!

Looks like quite busy week with the claiming races .On Monday we have the one claiming race
1.30 at Lingfield .

1.30 LINGFIELD 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Nine runners declared for seven furlong claimer at Lingfield .This looks to concern three runners ,Golden Desert ,Fishforcompliments and Stevie Gee.

Golden Desert would be very difficult to beat if he can repeat his win off mark 90 in class 2 handicap at Newmarket in September for Robert Mills .Though ran nowhere near that level on his first start for Simon Dow when beaten in claimer by City Legend here last time .

Fishforcompliments won 7 furlong handicap  at Musselburgh in September off mark 73 his first win for over 2 years .finished close third in this race last year behind Caprio ,though not easiest horse to win with having won only 3 times from 58 starts .

STEVIE GEE is consistent sort at this level .Won 7 furlong 0-70 classified claimer at Wolverhampton in September beating Brynfa Boy by short head .Finished fair third last time in 7 furlong seller behind Faithful Ruler ,running on well at finish after racing wide.

VERDICT : Golden Desert  is the clear pick on official handicap ratings ,though  there still remains doubt about his ability to run too his current mark and odds around evens look too short.

Fishforcompliments should be thereabouts ,though is very difficult horse to win with .Has still to win on the All Weather from 10 starts.

STEVIE GEE  goes well in this grade and has ran well on his last two starts on the All Weather. At around 5-1  looks fair each-way value against the favourite Golden Desert .

Solid Start !!!

Nice to get good start with claiming races yesterday . OPUS MAXIMUS winning the 1 mile claiming stakes at Wolverhampton at 7-2 for £420 profit on the day.Given excellent ride by Kirsty Milczarek coming from near last to first to win shade cosily .

JONOOB won the other claiming stakes at Lingfield under Ryan Moore ,though  looking the likeliest winner odds around 15-8 in morning didn't look the greatest value ,though was very heavily supported going off 5-4 favourite and was impressive 7 lengh winner. Not surprising was subsequently claimed by Tom Dascombe for £12,000

Moving onto today's racing just the one flat card an evening fixture at Wolverhampton .Unfortunately no claiming race on the 8 race card .No bet on Saturday .

Fridays best bets!!

Two claiming races on Friday (1.45 Lingfield) & (4.30 Wolverhampton)

1.45 LINGFIELD 10F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :

Just seven runners declared for this 10 furlong claimer at Lingfield .This looks three runner race with Junoob,Beat of The Blues & Dr Livingstone well clear on offical handicap ratings .

JUNOOB formerly trained by John Dunlop won on his first start for Amy Weather at Kempton in 12 furlong claimer, did well to win that day in steadily run race, coming from off the pace to win with bit in hand at finish

Beat of the Blues has 6LB pull in the weights with Junoob for 0.75 lengh beating at Kempton ,though seemed to have the run of the race that day and may struggle to reverse form even with 6lb pull

Dr Livingstone came back to form last time winning in good style in four runner, 12 furlong claimer at Kempton beating Scampadale by 2.5 lenghs in race run at crawl (15 seconds slower than standard)

VERDICT : JUNOOB won nicely last time and can confirm the form with Beat of the Blues .Dr Livingstone has to be respected and looks the main danger .Looking at the prices JUNOOB looks most likely winner though at around 15-8 represents  little value .

( NO BET RACE )

4.30 WOLVERHAMPTON 9F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6

Open looking 0-70 classified claimer with nine course winners .Opus Maximus ,Ajdaad and Spinning Ridge look the three to concentrate on.

OPUS MAXIMUS has been great form this year winning four times.(Last three wins in claimers) Finished  good second yesterday over C&D  in class 5 handicap behind the well treated Greyfriarschorista .Will be suited returning to claiming company.

Ajdaad goes well here at Wolverhampton dual C&D winner this season winning handicap in November off mark 65 .Looked unlucky last time when badly hampered in handicap behind Pipers Piping .

Spinning Ridge dual course winner been in good form this year winning four times.Finished close second last time behind Winged Valkirie over C&D off mark 68 .Drops into claiming company for first time.

VERDICT : OPUS MAXIMUS ran well here yesterday in handicap off mark 70 on his first start for Conor Dore .Has decent record in claiming races this year winning 3 from 8 and is best in at the  weights. 3-1 looks fair value . Both Ajaad and Spinning Ridge look the main two dangers having been in good form this season .
