2K to 10K Betting Challenge( Bet No 26 ) Fri 14th Sep

The 2K to 10K betting challenge continues on Friday,with day three of the St Leger Festival from Doncaster .

The betting bankroll stands at £2481 (+£481) stakes remain at £100.00 .

Moving on to Friday,going concentrate on the feature race from Doncaster . 

8 Runners declared for G2 Doncaster cup over 2 miles 2f on ground described as good .Not the strongest  group two staying contest,though still looks intresting race .The three main contenders are Algometer ,Sheikhzayedroad & Thomas Hobson . 

ALGOMETER : 5-Y-0 Grey entire ,winning 3 out 14 .Last victory coming in the 11f  (G3) Legacy Cup stakes at Newbury in September 2016 .Not shown much this season in the UK ,though did finish creditable second in (G2) Prix Maurice De Nieuil over 1M 6F at Longchamp in July .Top rated on official BHA ratings 112 ,though unproven over this marathon trip .

SHEIKHZAYEDROAD :9-Y-0 Bay gelding ,winning 11 out 47 .Not won since winning G2 Champions Long Distance cup at Ascot in October 2016 .However has decent record here at Doncaster 2 out 3 ,including winning this race over in 2016 ,also finished creditable third in the race last year .Had some fair form earlier in the season ,finishing second in (G2) Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan .Will be suited returning to Doncaster over this Marathon trip .

THOMAS HOBSON : 8-Y-0 Bay gelding ,winning 5 out 14 on flat turf .Had some useful form last season ,including winning Ascot Stakes by 6L at Royal Ascot,off mark 100 .Also finished good second in this race last year .Not shown much this season in two starts ,including when well beaten favourite in Alexander Stakes at Royal Ascot .Should improve for first two starts this season.Solid claims on last seasons form.

VERDICT : Thomas Hobson will be popular with Ryan Moore back in saddle ,having finishing creditable second in this race last year ,though needs to step forward after two mediocre efforts this season.Respected on last seasons form ,though odds around 15-8 look no great value .

2016 Winner SHEIKHZAYEDROAD looks solid,having gone well in this race for last two years.Ran as well as could be expected in G1 Ascot Gold Cup back in June .Had previously shown some fair form ,finishing second to Vazirabad in course record time in G2 Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan in March .Looks to have been primed for this race once again .Odds around 4-1 look fair each-way value.
