2K to 10K Betting Challenge( Bet No 61) Sat 10th August

2K to 10K bankroll challenge continues on Saturday at Chelmsford  .

The betting bank stands at £3769,after Spanish Mission finished close third in Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.Ran a decent race,staying on well in closing stages ,though could never quite peg back Nayef Road .No damage done with money back .Stakes remain the same at £150.00

Moving on to Saturday not great racing this weekend,with the Shergar Cup at Ascot the main feature ,though not an event I have any interest in .However we do have interesting class two handicap on All Weather at Chelmsford .

9 runners declared for (0-105) Fairwood Fillies handicap over 7f on poly track at Chelmsford .This looks quite competitive All Weather handicap the three main contenders look to be Island Of Life, California Love & Lady Lawyer .

ISLAND Of LIFE : 5-Y-0 Bay Mare,winning 3 out 9 on All Weather.Had some useful form on All Weather earlier in the season,including finishing creditable second in Fillies & Mares All Weather Championship at Lingfield in April.No show on last two starts in group 3 company on turf,though will be suited returning to All Weather in this lower grade .

CALIFORNIA LOVE : 3-Y-0 Chestnut Filly,winning 1 out 2 on All Weather,including winning Novice Stakes over C&D at Chelmsford in November.Shown progressive form this season,including winning class two handicap at Newmarket last time,off mark 87 .Looks open to further improvement returning to All Weather ,though has to defy 7lb higher mark .

LADY LAWYER : 3-Y-0 Bay Filly ,winning 2 out 2 on All Weather .Lightly raced sort, only had the three starts .Won class 4 Novice stakes over C&D at Chelmsford last time by short head .Takes step up in class on handicap debut ,though looks interesting contender from John Gosden stable .

VERDICT : ISLAND OF LIFE should go well returning to handicap company.Had plenty  decent form on All Weather earlier in the season ,including finishing good seconds in Listed company at Wolverhampton in March &  in All Weather Championship finals at Lingfield in April.Looks fairly treated off 99, with Cieren Fallon taking off handy 5lb .Odds around 10-1 look very fair each-way value.
