Meydan Carnival Week Two Fri 21st Jan 2022

The Dubai World Cup Carnival (DWCC) runs from January to the end of March. It is a truly pioneering festival in terms of duration and scope and has successfully attracted some of racing’s finest stars from all around the world - Great Britain, the United States of America, Japan, France, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, Brazil, Australia and Hong Kong to name a few. Since its inception, the DWCC has served as a springboard for progressive horses to launch into races on Dubai World Cup day.

Nice 10-1 winner last week at Meydan Carnival with the only bet Dubai Future, bolting up by 5L in Dubai Racing Club Classic listed stakes for £600/6.00 profit ,slighly surprising the horse drifted to 10-1 from early 7-1 ,though with BET365 (if you can get on with them) are best odds guarantee on all Meydan races .Unlike some of the other firms .

Meydan Carnival week 2 .The two feature races are the group two 9f Al Rashidiya & 7f Al Fahidi Fort .Going concentrate on group two 7f Al Fahidi Fort at 4.20 UK time.

The Charlie Appleby trained 4-Y-0 Colt Naval Crown possibly has the best form on offer here ,finisning 3L fourth to Poetic Flare in 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last season .Also won the 8F Meydan Classic Listed stakes at last years carnival  ,though makes no appeal at 5-4 returning from 6 month break ,having appeared to need the run, when well beaten third first time out at last years carnival .

Charlie Appleby's other runner the 4-Y-0 gelding LA BARROSA  looks interesting dropping back to 7f .Had some useful form as two-year-old over trip winning both starts at 7f ,including winning G3 Tattersalls stakes at Newmarket .Made promising reappearance at Meydan two weeks ago finishing 3L third to Path Of Thunder in Zabeel Trophy conditions stakes, appearing not get home over mile trip on his first start for 6 months .The return to this shorter trip looks sure to suit .Solid each-way claims .GUIDE PRICE 5-1 or ABOVE .

Last years winner Land Of Legends ,can't be ruled out .Has decent record fresh ,including winning this race last year after 320 day break ,was lightly raced last season only having three starts ,though should go well if fully wound up after 300 day break .
