3.25 Galway 7F Corrib Fillies Listed Stakes

On Thursday we are back in Ireland for day four of the Galway festival, with the main interest the Corrib Fillies Listed Stakes at 3.25 .

16 runners go to post for competitive 7 furlong fillies listed contest .On ground described as soft .The three main contenders are Drumfad Bay , Raymonda & Music Box .

DRUMFAD BAY : 3-Y-0 Bay filly ,winning 2 out 9 .Has Shown progressive form this season ,including winning 1 mile listed race at Killarney last time ,also finished second twice in 7 furlong listed company at Naas this season .Should go well ,though possibly better over mile .

RAYMONDA : 4-Y-0 Bay filly ,winning 2 out 6 .Has shown some decent form this season ,including finishing close second in 1 mile G3 Amethyst stakes at Leopardstown in May ,also finished fair third in G3 7F Brownstown stakes last time .Obvious claims dropping down in class ,though unproven on soft ground .

MUSIC BOX : 3-Y-0 Bay filly ,winning 2 out 11 ,also finished second five times .Has shown improved form on recent starts, including finishing running on second in 6F Dark Angel Listed race at Naas last time .The return to 7 furlongs looks ideal .Solid each-way claims .

VERDICT : Raymonda is 8lb clear on official ratings and will be suited by this drop in class ,though hasn't really progressed after winning her first two starts.Odds around 3-1 look short enough, for horse unproven on soft ground .

MUSIC BOX has been knocking on the door in listed company, having finished second on her last two starts ,the return to 7 furlongs looks ideal ,having finished strongly over 6 furlongs last time .Soft ground conditions shouldn't be problem, having won 7 furlong maiden on heavy ground at Gowran Park in June .Odds around 13/2 look fair value .
