CHAIN OF DAISIES : Five-year-old bay mare ,winning 6 out 16 ,including winning this race  back in 2015 .Had some top class form in 2016 ,including winning group three Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor ,beating the useful Ulysses .Also finished fair third in this years Winter Hill stakes in August .Should go well returning to listed company .

WILAMINA : Four-year-old bay filly ,winning 2 out 9.Been in good form this season , including winning in listed race in May.Also finished creditable second in group two Kilboy Stakes at Curragh in July.Slightly disappointing when beaten over 10L in group three company last time in Ireland, though will be suited by this better ground .Each-way claims .

VERDICT : Architecture is sure be popular dropping down in class ,having finished second in two group one races last season. On official ratings looks the one to beat (5LB clear),though hasn't won since winning a maiden back in 2015.Also this shorter trip doesn't look ideal.Respected though odds around 15-8 look no value .

CHAIN OF DAISIES looks solid returning to listed company.Has proven record in this grade ,including winning this race back in 2015.Has been lightly raced in 2017,though there was little wrong with 2.5L third behind Fabricate in stronger race at Windsor last time.Odds around 6-1 look decent each-way value .

Best Bets For The 2017 Breeders’ Cup

The Breeders’ Cup is considered by many as the world championship of the sport, as horses from all over the globe flock to North American to take part in the two-day meeting. This year’s renewal takes place at Del Mar as the meeting returns to California, where it was held in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016 at Santa Anita on November 3 and 4. Here is a look at the best bets for the two days.
1M2F Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) (Sat 4th November)
The Breeders’ Cup Classic is the feature race of the meeting and a race that has produced so many great memories over the years. This time around, we are set to see the clash between Arrogate and Gun Runner for the very first time in what should be a fascinating contest.
ARROGATE: 4-Y-O Grey Colt, winning 7 out of 10. The defending champion started the year strongly with victory in the Pegasus World Cup back in January where he blew away a strong field at Gulfstream Park by over four lengths. Since then he has only won one of his three starts which suggests his form is not as strong as it was leading into the Breeders’ Cup Classic in 2016.
GUN RUNNER: 4-Y-O Chestnut Colt, winning 9 out of 16. As of 5th October, Gun Runner is the 7/4 odds with online sites to win the 2017 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic as he has won his last three races, all at Grade One level in comfortable fashion. On his most recent run, the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga, he prevailed by 10 lengths. This will be his toughest test of his career but a win would help him earn the tag as the best dirt horse on the planet.
VERDICT: After the way Arrogate scored in this race in 2016 he is sure to have his supporters to become the first horse in 17 years to win this contest in back-to-back years. His form has to be a concern, though, as he was way below his best at Del Mar on his last two starts.
GUN RUNNER looks to be getting better with every run this season and as long as he brings his ‘A game’ to Del Mar he is surely the horse they all have to beat. This could be the first step of completing a treble with Pegasus World Cup and then Dubai World Cup at Meydan in March.
GUN RUNNER BREEDERS’ CUP CLASSIC
£50 WIN @ 7/4

1M4F Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) (Sat 4th November)
This race has been dominated by European horses in recent years as seven of the last nine winners have come from Europe. The betting for this year’s contest is also headed by horses from the UK and Ireland.
ULYSSES: 4-Y-O Chestnut Colt, winning 5 out of 13 turf races. Sir Michael Stoute’s runner has been one of the most consistent middle-distance runners in Europe this season. He has won three of his six starts, with Group One successes coming in the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown and the Juddmonte International at York. The concern going into this race is that it has been a long year for him as this is set to be his seventh start in what has been a tough campaign.
FRONTIERSMAN: 4-Y-O Brown Colt, winning 4 of his 12 turf races. As of 5th October, the Charlie Appleby-trained Frontiersman looks over-priced at 20/1 and at those odds you can use a staking strategy if you want to have more than one horse in the race. This four-year-old is very much capable of finishing in the frame at the very least at Del Mar. He won a Listed race at Newmarket on his latest start, while earlier in the year he was second in the Coronation Cup at Epson where he came home just over a length behind the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Highland Reel.
VERDICT: Ulysses deserves to be at the top of the market for this contest as his form this year suggests he is the best horse in the race. The big concern though is that this contest may be one too many for him in 2017.
FRONTIERSMAN has run at the top for the last couple of years and has to be respected in this contest. He may well be staying on strongly in the closing stages so he looks cracking value as an each-way selection against the favourite.

£30 EACH-WAY @ 20/1
Good luck if you having a bet at the Breeders’ Cup meeting where are 13 races in total across the two days in California.

LAHORE :Three-year-old bay colt ,winning 3 out 4.Shown progressive form this season ,including bolting up in 7 furlong class two handicap at Doncaster last time, off mark 86,though was well beaten in group three company at Deauville in August.Should find this listed race easier.

VERDICT : Lahore will have his supporters ,having won impressively in handicap company last time at Doncaster, the handicapper raising him 13lb for that performance.Looks open to further improvement after just 4 starts ,though up in class and  makes little appeal at around 2-1 .

JALLOTA is 5lb clear on official BHA ratings.Has been running with credit in group races all season ,including finishing good third in group two Joel Stakes at Newmarket last week .Obvious claims with this drop in class .Odds around 7-2 look very fair value .

VERDICT : Second Thought will be popular ,having chased home dual group one winner Harry's Angel at Haydock in May ,though there has to be concern having not raced for nearly four months, having got jarred up on the firm ground .Odds around 2-1 look short enough on fast ground  .

TABARRAK should go well having finished close second in group three company last time ,that form looks solid with the winner Ballet Concerto winning G3 Superior stakes next time at Haydock .The drop in class will suit ,having won in this grade at Ascot in May.Odds around 11-2 mark look very fair E/W value .

MUSIC BOX : 3-Y-0 Bay Filly, winning 2 out 10 on turf .Has shown improved form recently ,including winning handicap over C&D at Naas earlier this month .Also finished creditable 2ND in 1 mile listed race at Killarney last week ,though appeared not to quite stay the 1 mile trip .Looks open to improvement returning to 6 furlongs  .

VERDICT : This looks competitive sprint listed contest, with A.P O'Brien running six in the race .The Dermot Weld trained Rehana is top rated on official ratings (106) ,though won't find it easy under 5LB penalty.Odds around 5-2 look too short, with doubts about this shorter trip.

The improving MUSIC BOX has bit to find on official ratings ,though should go well returning to this shorter trip, after finishing creditable second in 1 mile listed race at Killarney last time, that looked fair effort ,after appearing not to quite last home. The return to 6 furlong's will suit ,having won decent handicap over C&D three weeks ago .Odds around 15-2 look fair each-way value .

Godolphin Charging Toward Lennox Stakes Success

The Qatar Goodwood Festival.

Who doesn't love Glorious Goodwood? The elegance of linen suits and Panama hats, Pims, beautiful ladies, majestic equine. The beauty of Sussex down captures the heart of racing fans across the world. Quality horse racing of the highest calibre.

The Qatar Lennox Stakes Group 2 . A Class 1 race for three-year-old horses and older on this sweeping 7f. Named after the Duke of Lennox one of the Dukedoms of the Duke of Richmond and present owner of Goodwood Racecourse.

This race was established in 2000 and won by Observatory, trained by John Gosden.

A number of class horses have won this contest since its inauguration including Paco Boy, winning 2008 for Richard Hannon Sr. He also excelled with Toormore for Hannon Jr in 2015.

Looking back to the early years Nayyir (2002, 2003) proved a powerhouse for Gerard Butler winning in consecutive years.

The first declaration stage of this year's race sees 35 entrants. A wealth of talented thoroughbreds including Limato, trained by Henry Candy, who has the highest official rating of 120.

Interesting to note that Godolphin has 5 horses entered: Dutch Connection, Home Of The Brave, Jungle Cat, Richard Pankhurst & Dream Castle.

One connection but a mix of trainers including Charlie Hills, Hugo Palmer, Charlie Appleby, John Gosden & Saeed bin Suroor.

Dutch Connection proved victorious last year when winning ''readily'' at 9/4f from Home Of The Brave.

If all goes to plan it, we could see this durable pair fighting out a finish once more.

The horse betting sites suggest Jungle Cat and Richard Pankhurst will be making up the numbers and most likely entered as a precaution just in case the major hopes don't make the big day.

However, the duo may not be alone as Dream Castle, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, is pretty fancied in the betting. Considering Bin Suroor has been kept in the shadows this season with Appleby taking the cream of the crop it would be just desserts for him to enjoy a timely success.

Certainly, Home Of The Brave has been in tremendous form this season winning both starts. This son of Starspangledbanner ran on gamely to win the Criterion Stakes Group 3 at Newmarket from Jungle Cat.

By contrast, Dutch Connection has been slow to find his form this season. He wasn't disgraced when racing at Royal Ascot when 6th in the Queen Anne Stakes Group 1. However, better was expected when going to the Curragh competing in the Qatar Airways Minstrel Stakes Group 2. The joint favourite finished 6th and although not beaten far it does leave a question mark.

HOME OF THE BRAVE could well prove a good each-way bet and presently priced 5/1 with leading bookmakers.

VERDICT :  Bletchley looks the one to beat, on the pick last season form ,including finishing close 2ND at Royal Ascot .Looked on her way back after winning conditions race at Leicester last time, though odds around 2-1 don't look great value in open looking race .

At the prices consistent Irish filly ELUSIVE BEAUTY looks the each-way value.Finished close fifth in fair looking 6F (G3) contest at Curragh last time (Staying on strongly at finish ) The return to this longer trip, on this stiff track is sure to suit .The more rain the better for this soft ground specialist.Odds around 8-1 look good value .

BEST SOLUTION : Won 3 out 8 on turf for Saeed Bin Suroor ,including winning the G3 Lingfield Derby trial in May.Slightly disappointing in the Derby, finishing 6.5L eighth of 18 behind Wings Of Eagles ,fading in closing stages .This race looks easier ,though not certain to stay on this stiffer track .

CRYSTAL OCEAN : Lightly raced sort for Sir Michael Stoute ,winning 1 out 3 ,though finished eyecatching third in G2 Dante Stakes at York last time (staying on strongly at the finish) Skipped the Derby, and looks to been trained for this race .Obvious claims with fast ground in his favour .

PERMIAN : Tough sort ,winning 5 out 11 for Mark Johnston ,including winning G2 Dante Stakes at York  ,though no show in Derby finishing disappointing tenth of 18 .Obvious claims on the Dante form ,though there has to be question mark over this 1M 4F trip .

VERDICT : CRYSTAL OCEAN looks open to plenty improvement over this longer trip ,was putting in all his best work in closing stages of 10F Dante Stakes at York ,that form looks all the better with the Dante second Benbati ,winning G3 Hampton Court Stakes yesterday .Should be difficult to beat .Odds around 3-1 look fair value .

DABAN : Three-year-old Filly, winning 2 out 3 ,including winning the G3 Nell Gwyn at Newmarket in April ,though produced career best effort last time when finishing an excellent 2 lengh third behind Winter in 1000 guineas.Should go well returning to this shorter trip.

DREAM CASTLE :Three-year-old colt, winning 1 out 3 ,also finished good second in G3 Greenham Stakes behind Barney Roy and finished fair fifth of 10 in 2000 guineas. That form has taken timely boost ,with Barney Roy and Lancaster Bomber finishing first & second in Tuesday's St James Palace Stakes. The return to 7 furlongs will also suit .

LE BRIVIDO : Three-year-old French colt , winning 2 out 3 ,including winning twice at Chantilly ,though ran his best race ,when finishing short head second in French 2000 Guineas at Deauville on soft ground .Looks interesting contender, though unproven on fast ground .

VERDICT : Le Brivido will be popular after finishing close second in French 2000 guineas  ,though that was on soft ground, there has to be big question mark repeating that form on this  lightning quick ground .

DREAM CASTLE looks the one to beat returning to group three company, over this 7 furlong trip. The form of his 2L second to Barney Roy in Greenham stakes, and 3L fifth of 10 in 2000 Guineas looks very decent form at this level .Odds around 4-1 look solid value .

2.55 York 1M Ganton Listed Stakes (Sat 18th June )

SPARK PLUG : Six-year-old gelding, winning 4 out 21 .Had some decent form last season ,including winning the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket in September .Also finished close second in 10F Listed Festival Stakes at Goodwood last time .Should be thereabouts , though the drop back to mile may not be ideal .

MONDIALISTE : Seven-year-old entire, winning 5 out 24 .Had some useful form last summer ,finishing second in 10F G2 Sky Bet Stakes at York in July & winning the 10F G1 Arlington Million in America in August .Not shown much on both starts this season ,though seems much better horse in summer months .Can't be ruled out returning to listed company .

THIKRIYAAT : Four-year-old gelding ,winning 4 out 7.Had some top class form last season ,including winning 1M G3 Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood. Also finished second in Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot ,behind the top class Ribchester .No show on last two starts ,though was suffering from fibrillating heart on final start last season ,and probably needed the race last time.Obvious claims on the pick last seasons form .

VERDICT : THIKRIYAAT will need to bounce back to form, after two below par efforts ,though would take plenty of beating if reproducing the pick last seasons group and listed winning form.Had looked top class performer when landing the group three Thoroughbred Stakes at Glorious Goodwood .Looks worth small each-way bet at around 5-1 .

9 Runners declared for good looking seven furlong group three contest at Haydock, on ground described  as soft .The three main contenders look to be Breton Rock , Jallota & Mitchum Swagger .

JALLOTA : 6-Y-0 Gelding ,winning 5 out 39 on turf .Consistent sort ,had some decent form in 2016 ,winning the G3 Prix Du Pin at Chantilly in September .Also finished close 2ND in G1 Premio Vittorio Di Cappua at San Siro in Italy.Made creditable reappearance in G2 Bet365 Mile at Sandown in April, finishing 3RD behind Sovereign Dept.Solid each-way claims ,with conditions to suit .

VERDICT : Breton Rock will be popular dropping down in class, after finishing third in G1 Lockinge at Newbury last time ,though faces no easy task under 5lb penalty.Odds around 5-2 look short enough in hot looking contest .

MITCHUM SWAGGER will need to bounce back to form, though had some useful form last season on soft ground .Has decent record here at Haydock (221) ,including finishing close 2ND in G3 Superior Stakes .Ryan Moore riding for first time.also looks eyecatching jockey booking.Odds around 5-1 look decent each-way value .

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

10 Runners declared for G3 Pinnacle Stakes for Fillies & Mares over the extended 1M 3F at Haydock .The two standout contenders are Amjaan Princess, Bateel .

AMJAAN PRINCESS : 4-Y-0 Filly , winning 2 out 7 ,also finished second 4 times .Has shown progressive form this season ,including bolting up in 1M 4F Listed race at Goodwood last time on fast ground .Ground conditions shouldn't be problem ,having finished 2ND in Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot last season on Soft ground .

BATEEL : 5-Y-0 Mare , winning 4 out 8 for David Simcock.Goes particularly well on soft ground .Had some decent form last season ,including winning 1M 4F listed race at Newmarket .Made creditable reappearance, on first start for French trainer F.H Graffard, finishing 2ND in 1M 7F G3 contest .Should go well with ideal conditions .

VERDICT : BATEEL looks to have plenty in her favour ,having won 4 out 4 on (Soft or G/S)  .Made encouraging return for new yard at Chantilly last time .Also will be suited returning to this shorter trip .Odds around 10-3 look fair value in not the strongest looking group three contest .
