1.40 Lingfield 10F Betway Conditions Race Class 2 (Wed 30th Nov)

On Wednesday we are back at Lingfield, for decent looking 10 furlong class two conditions race, on the poly track .

7 runners declared for the 10 furlong Betway conditions race on poly track at 1.40 .This looks quality condition race ,with three horses having BHA ratings in 100's .The three main contenders are Battalion , Master Of The World & Pinzolo .

BATTALION :Useful 6-Y-0 Gelding ,winning 6 out 25 for William Haggis .Changed hands for 70,000 gns at October Newmarket sales .Makes first start for trainer Jamie Osborne.Has decent record here at Lingfield (2 out 5) ,including winning this race last year. Also finished excellent 2ND last time in G3 Diamond Stakes at Dundalk in September .Solid claims dropping down in class .

MASTER OF THE WORLD :Decent 5-Y-0 Gelding, winning 3 out 33 ,though not won since June 2015 .Been in decent form recently, finishing good 3RD over C&D in Listed Churchill Stakes last time .Obvious claims on official ratings ,though on losing run of 15 races .

PINZOLO : Useful  sort back in 2014/15 for Charles Appleby ,including winning in listed company ,though hasn't looked as good this season on turf ,including last time on his first start for trainer Ismail Mohammed .Should do better returning to poly track , though his last victory came over 14 furlongs ,the drop back to 10 furlongs has be big question mark .

VERDICT : Last years winner BATTALION should go well on first start for Jamie Osborne.Finished excellent 2ND in group three Diamond Stakes at Dundalk last time ,behind the useful A O 'Brien trained Long Island Sound .Looks the one to beat ,dropping down in class .Odds around 3-1 look decent value .

Master Of The World looks obvious danger, after finishing creditable thirds on his last two starts in listed company. Also  being 4LB clear on official BHA ratings ,though struggles to win races , having been placed 13 times ,with only 4 victories from 33 starts .Odds around 2-1 look short enough .

GOLDEN AMBER : Consistent 5-Y-0 mare ,winning 2 out 15 on All Weather , also been placed 6 times .Returned to form last time, finishing creditable 2ND behind Chookie Royale in 7 furlong conditions race at Kempton.Should be thereabouts ,though hasn't won since September 2015 .

VERDICT : VOLUNTEER POINT returned to form last time at Chelmsford ,and looks the one to beat, being proven winner in this grade, including winning three class 2 condition races in 2016 .Also has good strike on All Weather 5 out 12 .Unraced on tapeta at Wolverhampton ,though seems to handle most artificial surfaces . Odds around 11-4 look fair value .

SPRING LOADED :Excellent record on poly track ,winning 7 out 11 ,including winning 4 times over C&D at KEMPTON .Not shown much on turf this season ,though has always looked All Weather specialist .Still looks fairly treated off mark 98 /

Spring Loaded looks the main danger, has an excellent strike rate on All Weather .though has to overcome very wide draw in stall 12 .

The most amazing winter sports and their images

Winter sports can be truly amazing. Items such as sledges, skis and skates, which were originally designed for transport, have slowly developed into fully fledged sports with their own multi-sport tournaments, such as the Winter Olympic Games. Here is a list of some of the best winter sports around.

Snowmobiling Snowmobiles are mainly intended for travelling across snowy terrains. However they can also be used for recreational sports, such as races. Snowcross is one of the most popular forms of snowmobile racing, and is even an event at the X Games. However, due to manoeuvrability, acceleration and strength of a snowmobile, accidents and fatalities are fairly common for those that ride. Despite the risks involved, snowmobiling still ranks high amongst the most amazing winter sports due to the speed of the riders and the tricks that are pulled off.

Speed Skating

Speed skating is a form of competitive ice racing which involves competitors racing against each other over a certain distance. Although the action is focused on the track, the skaters can hit incredible speeds which makes it a mesmerizing sport for spectators to watch. The sport is so exciting that even sports odds bookmakers Paddy Power offered odds on speed skating races. Apart from falling over or hitting the sides of the track, speed skating is a fairly ‘safe’ sport to compete in.
