On Wednesday we  have decent midweek card from Ascot ,with the feature race the Group three Sagaro Stakes at 3.20

10 Runners declared for high quality looking Sagaro Stakes at Ascot, on ground described as Good/soft soft in places . The three main contenders are Flying Officer , Clever Cookie & Mizzou .

FLYING OFFICER : Excellent strike rate winning 6 out 9 ,including winning group two Long Distance Cup over C&D at Ascot last October .Goes well fresh ,winning first time out the last four seasons. However faces no easy task under 5LB group two penalty .

CLEVER COOKIE : Smart stayer ,winning 5 out 12 on the flat ,including winning the group three Ormande stakes at Chester last May.Finished creditable 1L 2ND in Long Distance Cup ,behind Flying Officer over C&D .Every chance of reversing that form on 5LB better terms .

MIZZOU : Progressive stayer ,winning 4 out 8 , including winning this race last year in good style . Also finished creditable 2ND in group two Lonsdale Cup ,behind the useful Max Dynamite ,with Clever Cookie back in fourth . Looks open to plenty improvement this season .

VERDICT : Clever Cookie will be popular here ,with Ryan Moore riding for first time and should reverse form with Flying Officer on 5LB better terms , though was bit disappointing on his seasonal reappearance, when beaten odds on favourite in listed company at Nottingham .Should improve for that race ,though is passed over .

Last years winner MIZZOU looks solid each-way bet here .Showed progressive form last season ,and lost nothing in defeat when finishing good 2ND in G2 Lonsdale Cup at York on final start last season (Clever Cookie back in 4TH) .Odds around 4-1 look very fair value .

4.15 Limerick 1M 4F Martin Molony (Listed Stakes) (Sat 23rd Apr )

On Saturday we are back in Ireland, for interesting looking 12 furlong listed race at Limerick .

9 runners declared for quality looking 1M 4F listed race at Limerick,on ground described as soft . The three main contenders are Bondi Beach ,Altesse & Toe The Line .

BONDI BEACH : Useful 4-Y-0 colt , winning 2 out 6 ,including winning 1M 6F Curragh Cup in June , though ran his best race ,when finishing close 2ND in group one St Leger at Doncaster in September .Obvious claims with this drop in class .

ALTESSE : Very consistent 5-Y-0 mare (12223221 )Won 1M 4F Listed race at Leopardstown 17 days ago on heavy ground, beating Ballybacka Queen. Has bit to find on official ratings ,though has good record in listed races over 12 furlongs on soft ground.Solid each-way claims .

TOE THE LINE : Won 4 out 18 , including bolting up small 1M 6F conditions race at Gowran Park two weeks ago on heavy ground .Has won in listed company ,though all her best form has been over 1M 6F & 2 miles ,this shorter trip may not suit .

VERDICT : Bondi Beach is clearly the one to beat ,with an official rating of 118,though clearly stays well ,this drop back in trip may not be ideal .Odds around 10/11 look short enough on his seasonal debut .

At the prices ALTESSE looks the each-way bet ,against the short price favourite .Has been model of consistency in Listed races over the last two seasons (122322) and looks to have ideal conditions here (1M 4F on soft ground) .Odds around 6-1 look solid each-way value .

On Wednesday we have decent looking card from Epsom ,with the feature race the £50,000 guaranteed Derby trial at 2.30 .

9 runners declared for 10 furlong Derby Trial on ground described as soft .The three main contenders look to be Claudio Monteverdi ,Percy Street & So Mi Dar .

CLAUDIO MONTEVERDI :Well bred Galileo colt, Bolted up in 1 mile maiden at Leopardstown earlier this month ,beating Freeman by 4.5 lenghs ,form has been boosted with third horse Gurkha winning maiden next time by 9 lenghs at Navan .Should go well ,with this step up in trip sure to suit .

PERCY STREET : Improving sort last season. Impressive 6 lengh winner of  1 mile maiden at Pontefract in September .Also finished creditable 1.5 lengh 3RD last time in 1 mile listed race at Pontefract ,behind the unbeaten Thanksfortellingme .Looks open to plenty improvement ,over this longer trip .

SO MI DAR : Well bred Dubawi filly .Won 1 mile maiden at Windsor on debut last season .That form looks nothing special, only rated 81 on BHA figures, though has plenty big race entries ,including the Epsom & Irish Oaks .Looks interesting contender from John Gosden stable .

VERDICT : The Aiden O' Brien Derby entry Claudio Monteverdi ,will be popular here having won maiden in good style last time at Leopardstown ,and looks sure to improve over this longer trip ,though odds around 5-4 look incredibly short, for horse that only won maiden .

At the prices PERCY STREET looks the each-way value .After finishing promising third in decent looking listed race at Pontefract back in October (stayed on well in closing stages)This longer trip looks sure to suit ,being son of Derby winner Sir Percy .Odds around 12-1 mark look good value .

2.40 Chelmsford 7F Fred Darling Stakes (Group 3 ) Fillies (Sat 16th Apr )

With Saturday's classic trial card at Newbury abandoned earlier today .The card has quickly been switched to Chelmsford on All Weather .The most interesting race on the card ,looks to be the 7 furlong Fred Darling Stakes at 2.40 .

8 Runners declared for group three Fred Darling at Chelmsford .The three main contenders are Aljazzi , Besharah & Marenko

ALJAZZI : Bolted up on debut by 4.5 lenghs in 7F maiden at Newmarket ,in October on soft ground. Not easy to assess that form on All Weather Debut , though looks interesting contender .

BESHARAH :Useful 2-Y-0 last season over 5 & 6 furlongs ,winning 4 out 7 ,including winning 6F group two Lowther Stakes at York in August .Makes All Weather Debut and steps up to 7 furlongs for first time ,though clearly the one to beat on last years form .

MARENKO : Showed some useful form last season ,including finishing excellent 2ND ,behind the useful Turret Rocks in group two 7 furlong May Hill Stakes at Doncaster in September .Won 8 furlong conditions race on All Weather 2 weeks ago at Kempton .Should go well with conditions to suit .

VERDICT : Besharah is clearly the one to beat on official ratings (6LB clear) ,though is unproven over this longer trip and yet race on All Weather .At top price 6-4 ,looks short enough in the market .

At the prices MARENKO looks solid each-way value.Showed some useful form in group races over this trip last season .Has also proved herself on poly track ,and looks well drawn in stall two for  front runner ,with Ryan Moore riding for first time .Odds around 4-1 look good value .

ILLUMINATE :Won first 3 starts, including winning group races at Royal Ascot (Albany Stakes ) & Newmarket (Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes) Also finished excellent 2ND in G1 Cheveley Park Stakes .Should be thereabouts ,though has 3LB penalty and won't want too much rain .

WINTERLUDE : Useful 6-Y-0 Gelding ,winning 4 out 10 on All Weather.Been in good form this winter ,winning two class 2 handicaps, including winning 12 furlong  handicap at Wolverhampton last month, off mark 96 .Bit disappointing last time at Lingfield behind Grendisar in Easter Classic ,though faced stiff task in top quality race .Should go well returning to handicap company .

C&D winner WINTERLUDE has solid form in this grade ,having won four times in class two handicap company . Still looks fairly handicapped of mark 98 ,only 2LB higher for last win.Odds around 6-1 look decent each-way value .
