4.45 Meydan 6F Group 3 Dirt (Thu 11th Feb )

On Thursday we are back at Meydan, for top quality group 3 sprint on the dirt over 6 furlongs .

4.45 MEYDAN 6F AL SHINDAGHA SPRINT G3 (DIRT)
9 runners declared for decent group 3 sprint on the dirt .The three main contenders are Marking , Reynaldothewizard & Rich Tapestry .

MARKING : Lightly raced American 4-Y-0 colt, winning 2 out 3 ,finished creditable 2ND in grade one company at Santa Anita last time over 7F ,behind the very useful Runhappy (Breeders Cup Sprint winner )  Obvious claims with this drop in class ,though this shorter trip may not be ideal .

REYNALDOTHEWIZARD : Likeable 10 year old gelding ,with excellent record at Meydan over 6 furlongs (8 wins out 13 starts) including winning last three starts .Also won this race last year .Should go well with ideal conditions .

RICH TAPESTRY :Useful Hong Kong sprinter  ,winning 3 out 6 on artificial surfaces,including winning in grade 1 company at Santa Anita ,Also has good record here at Meydan (321) ,finishing placed in group one Golden Shaheen the last two seasons .Been disappointing on turf in Hong Kong recently ,though the return to the dirt will suit .

VERDICT : Marking looks interesting runner for Godolphin ,having shown useful form in America ,though the drop back to 6 furlongs is question mark ,having already won over 1 mile at Aqueduct .Looks worth opposing at very short (5-4)

Last years winner REYNALDOTHEWIZARD looks solid here ,after winning in good style in listed company on his return last month . Has decent record in group 3 company (121). Should also get the race run to suit, with plenty pace in the race .Odds around 4-1 look fair value .
