Sunday 20th July Claiming Stakes Bet !!

For the blogs best bet on Sunday ,we go to Redcar for low grade Classified Claiming stakes  over 10 furlongs at 3.40 .

9 runners declared for 0-75 classified claiming stakes on ground good (g/f) places .The three runners that standout here are Gabrial The Duke , Gabrial's Hope & Matraash .

3.40 REDCAR 10F CLASSIFIED CLAIMING STAKES 0-75 CLASS 6:
GABRIAL THE DUKE : Been in good form this season ,winning twice in June, including winning 10 furlong handicap at Salisbury by 3.5 lenghs off mark 66 .Also won claimer at Leicester .Bit disappointing last time when well beaten in four runner handicap at Yarmouth ,though will be suited returning to claiming company and looks well treated at the weights .

GABRIAL'S HOPE : Returned to form last month winning 10 furlong handicap over C&D at Redcar beating Magnolia Ridge in good style .Followed that with close second at Newcastle just getting touched off in 10 furlong handicap off mark 58 .Has bit to find on official ratings ,though comes to the race in good form.

MATRAASH  :Won two sellers on All Weather this winter at Wolverhampton ,returned to form in June finishing close second in claimer over C&D at Redcar behind four time claiming winner Incendo ,ran respectable fourth last time in 10 furlong seller behind Hand Painted .Should go well with conditions to suit .

VERDICT : Gabrial The Duke will be popular returning to claiming company ,and will be difficult to beat if reproducing his handicap form ,though will need bounce back after poor run last time, though odds around 6-4 look short enough .

At the prices MATRAASH looks the each-way value at around 5-1 ,the form of his second over C&D in claimer in June looks solid form , fairly treated at the weights and should go close with conditions to suit .

  3. Have you been to Yarmouth this year? I'm going there tomorrow as I am part of the group who own The Ducking Stool. I will be there for all three days of the Eastern meeting in September. If you're about it would be good to say hello.

  5. That's good, Jerry. I will come and have a chat on the Wednesday of the Eastern meeting. Yes, The Ducking Stool is a certainly a Yarmouth specialist. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Being a 2yo racing fan these extreme distances are a touch mad to me.
