Saturday 12th July John Smiths City Walls Listed Stakes Bet

For blogs best bet on Saturday we go to York for interesting looking 5 furlong listed contest at 3.30 on ground described as good/firm .

3.30 YORK 5F JOHN SMITH CITY WALLS LISTED STAKES:
9 runners go to post for John Smiths City Of Walls Stakes .However not many strong contenders here .Kingsgate Native ,G Force & Take Cover look the three to concentrate on .

KINGSGATE NATIVE :Grand 9 year old sprinter ,been in good form this season finishing placed three times in group company ,finished creditable second last week in Coral Charge at Sandown behind Extortionist .Should go well dropping into listed company with Ryan Moore looking eyecatching jockey booking .

TAKE COVER :Lightly raced 7 year old winning 5 times from 13 starts ,had some decent form last season in handicap company ,including winning over C&D at York off mark 92 in October .Finished fair 8th Of 16 in G1 King Stand stakes on seasonal reappearence.Should come on for that run and has each-way claims>

G FORCE : Progressive three year old ,Won well over C&D in class three handicap in May beating Speed Hawk by 2.5 lenghs off mark 87 ,slightly disappointing last time when only third when short price favourite in listed race at Sandown ,though didn't have the best of draws that day .Still looks open to plenty improvement after 4 starts and will be suited returning to York .

VERDICT : KINGSGATE NATIVE stands out here dropping into listed company, has been running well in much better races this season ,including finishing second in Palace House Stakes & Coral Charge .Ryan Moore looks significant jockey booking having not rode the horse since 2011.(won twice on horse back 2009/10).Odds around 11-4 look very fair .

G Force looks the main danger ,though will still need to show big improvement to land this listed contest .
