Weekly / Monthly Results Round Up !!!

This has to be described as one them weeks were nothing went right .Starting on Saturday there were two bets at Meydan's big World cup meeting .

The first bet was in two mile group two Dubai Gold Cup on  Saeed Bin Suroor trained CAVALRYMAN who looked decent bet at 11-4 to win the race for second year running .£50.00 each-way @ 11-4 with Betfred was the bet.Well supported in market going off 7-4 fav

In the race CAVALRYMAN travelled well just in behind the leaders and had good position turning into the straight  ,though just couldn't find clear run inside final two furlongs.Once in clear inside final furlong was closing fast all the way to the line ,though just couldn't catch 33-1 outsider Certerach in time failing by neck .

Really frustrating result here CAVALRYMAN was clearly the best horse in the race, though just got no luck in running .What should been profitable race ended with £16.00 loss .

The second bet at Meydan was on Aidan O'Brien trained GIOVANNI BOLDINI in group two UAE Derby over the extended nine furlongs .Having finished good second in Breeders Cup Juvenile turf on his last start  .GIOVANNI BOLDINI looked solid bet at 3-1 .£50.00 each-way @ 3-1 with Betfred was bet placed, plus we had £25.00 each-way double with CAVALRYMAN .

This was very puzzling ride by Ryan Moore, who settled the horse at the rear of the field, though never seem put the horse into the race .Still only ninth turning into the straight, though picked up well in closing stages, finishing a never nearer fourth, getting beat nose for third place.

The winner Toast Of New York won in good style and looks decent sort, though this was poorly judged ride by Moore who never seem give GIOVANNI BOLDINI any chance in the race .

This turned into quite expensive race with the each-way single and each-way double biting the dust with loss of £150.00 on the race

Moving onto Sunday we had interesting card in Ireland at Leopardstown for final bet of the week. The 2000 guineas trial listed race looked interesting race with Aidan O 'Brien trained Indian Maharaja put in favourite, though had question marks having never ran on testing ground and looked worth taking on at short price .

SHINING EMERALD had some decent form last season on testing ground and was 5LB clear on official ratings .£50 each-way @3-1 with Corals looked fair value bet against  short price favourite

In the race SHINING EMERALD came there with every chance and looked the likely winner when putting in strong challenge inside final furlong and traded as short as 1-10 in running ,though could never get past the race fit Go For Goal who held on well in closing stages .£20.00 loss on the race.

No excuses here SHINING EMERALD  ran decent enough race ,though was just beaten by improving rival who had fitness edge. The Aidan O 'Brien trained Indian Maharaja who looked vulnerable was big disappointment finishing well beaten 8th failing to handle the heavy ground .

LOSS £41.00

*Not the greatest month after promising start at the beginning of March, with just two winners from 8 bets for £41.00 loss on the month .

Saying that with better luck March would clearly been profitable month ,we seem get all the bad luck going ,though over the season it will normally even out .

With the Flat turf season now under way, hopefully there will be few more betting opportunities in April .Also looking forward to getting back on the racetrack with Newmarket's Craven meeting on 16th April, my first meeting of the year ,quickly followed by The All Weather championship finals at Lingfield on 18th April .
