Monday 30th July Claiming Bet!!

On Monday its back to All Weather with 6 furlong three year old claimer on poly track at Lingfield .

LINGFIELD 2.25 6F 3-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
8 runners declared for 3 year old claiming Stakes on poly track at Lingfield .On official handicap rating this looks three horse race between Redair , Ziefhd and Asian Trader .

REDAIR : Great record on poly track over 5 furlongs with 6 wins from 7 starts ,and also has good record in claiming races 3 from 5 .Finished fair second last time in 5 furlong handicap at Ffos Los.Has yet to win over 6 furlongs from 8 starts .

ZIEFHD : Been disappointing on his last three starts on turf ,though has some fair form on poly track ,including finishing good second in 7 furlong handicap here at Linfield in May off mark 80.Should go well dropping into claiming company for first time .

ASIAN TRADER :Finished fair third in 20 runner maiden at Doncaster on debut in May ,though has been disappointing on his last two starts .Lightly raced though hard to weigh up.

VERDICT : Redair looks the one to beat here having already won five times this year ,though all her wins have been over 5 furlongs , though she has finished second twice over 6 furlongs she has yet to win over this distance from 8 starts .Has to be respected ,though there remains doubt over this trip .

ZIEFHD is 3LB clear at the weights, she will need to bounce back after some disappointing runs on turf .However all her best form has been on poly track and should go well with this drop in class .Odds around 7-2 look fair value .

Weekly Results Round / Up

Saturday's claiming bet on Benzanno in 1 mile claiming stakes at Salisbury was bitterly disappointing ,weakening quickly with 2 furlongs to run and finishing last of nine. Not sure what happened with Benzanno after being very well supported in market 7-2 into 2-1 ,though ran no kind of race.

Overall its been very disappointing week with £300 / 3.00 PTS loss ,with all three bets finishing unplaced .These bad weeks do happen from time to time ,though I can't remember backing three horses in row that ran so bad . Hopefully next week we will see a big improvement.

THE RESULTS :

Saturday 28th July Claiming Bet !!

Not great week so far with two losing bets .Not sure why but the turf bets are not performing up to standard at the moment .With only one winner from 7 bets this season( 14.28%) . That compares with 10 out 26 on All Weather (38.46%)

Moving on to Saturday we have 1 mile 0-75 classified claimer for 3 and 4 year olds at Salisbury's evening meeting .Hopefully we can finish the week with winner on the turf.

6.40 SALISBURY 1 MILE 0-75 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5
10 runners declared for (0-75) 1 mile claimer on the turf at Salisbury .This looks quite competitive claimer with four main contenders .Benzanno,Mayo Lad,Purple N Gold , Aciano .

BENZANNO :Big improver since being fitted with hood ,winning 9 furlong handicap at Epsom last time in good style. Also finished good second at Epsom on his previous start on soft ground .Should go well if handling this faster ground.

MAYO LAD : Consistent sort ,hasn't finished outside the first three on his last 6 starts .Won 6 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton back in April .

PURPLE N GOLD :Won 9 furlong seller at Yarmouth earlier last month in good style ,though was very disappointing last time in claimer at Newmarket beaten 20 lenghs .Well treated at the weights.

ACIANO : Won 9 furlong seller at Wolverhampton earlier this month ,and finished fair second in simular race at Lingfield last time .Won on the turf last season at Doncaster and should be thereabouts.

VERDICT : Mayo Lad is very consistent performer and should go well here ,though has been beaten favorite on his last three starts and doesn't look the easiest horse to win with .Odds around 9-4 make little appeal .

Purple N Gold is best in at the weights ,though was very disappointing last time in claimer and will need to bounce back .

BENZANNO looks improved performer after putting in two solid runs in handicap company at Epsom recently .Has to prove he can handle this faster ground ,though looks to have the strongest form .odds around 7-2 look fair value.

Wednesday 25th July Claiming Bet !!

Again another slow start to the week with Monday's claiming bet on Red Highlites finishing disappointing fifth in 5 furlong claiming stakes at Beverley .The last few bets on the turf haven't really performed that well ,with all the recent winners coming on the All Weather .

Hopefully now the ground conditions have improved ,we can start to have a few more winners on the turf .

Moving onto Wednesday we have two claimers the 6F 2 year old claimer at Lingfield looks very difficult ,so going to concentrate on 5F claimer on the turf at Catterick .

5.00 CATTERICK 5F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
9 runners declared for 5 furlong claimer at Catterick on Good/firm ground. This looks quite decent contest for class 6 race with two horses offically rated 90.The three main contenders are Foxy Music ,Partner & Crimea.

FOXY MUSIC :Fair sprinter on his day .Finished second twice this season ,including in class 2 handicap at Chester in May off mark 90 .Looks well treated at these weights and takes big drop in class .

PARTNER :Had some fair form in Ireland 2009 /10 winning four times for David Marnane .Returned to form in May Winning class 2 handicap at Thirsk for Kevin Ryan ,though hasn't shown much on his last three starts . Takes big drop in class into claiming company for first time, though looks very inconsistent sort.

CRIMEA : Lightly raced 6-Y-0 .Not won for over 2 years ,though has been placed twice on poly track at Wolverhampton recently .Has decent record in claiming company ,including when winning claimer at Hamilton on fast ground by 7 lenghs.

VERDICT : Foxy Music is very well treated in this claimer 5LB clear at the weights and looks to have an obvious chance ,though doesn't win that often with record of 4 wins from 50 starts and all his best form has been on soft surface .Has to be repected taking big drop in class ,though odds around 5-4 don't look great value.

CRIMEA has plenty to find at these weights with Foxy Music ,though has proven record in this grade and fast ground conditions will suit .Trainer Dandy Nicholls also has good record with his runners in claimers this season 32% (6 winners from 19 runners) . At around the 5-1 mark looks the each-way value.

Monday 24th July Claiming Bet!!

On Monday we are back on the turf at Beverley with 5 furlong 2 year old claimer on ground described as good/firm .

6.30 BEVERLEY 5 FURLONG 2 YEAR OLD CLAIMING STAKES:
9 runners declared for 2 year old claimer over 5 furlongs at Beverley .This doesn't look the strongest claimer with Findog & Red Highlites looking the two main contenders .

FINDOG :Finished promising third on debut in 5 furlong maiden at Ripon ealier last month .That was fair effort after being slowly away and swerving at the start ,ran on strongly in closing stages .Should go well dropping into claiming company.

RED HIGHLITES : Ran good second in 5 furlong maiden at Catterick earlier this month showing plenty speed.Looked unsuited by heavy ground last time when finishing third in 5 furlong maiden at Hamilton .Should be suited by this faster ground .

VERDICT : Findog should improve for his debut third at Ripon and looks sure to go well in this weak looking claimer ,though there has to be big concern about the form of the Ollie Pears stable, having only had one winner since April (1 from 83 ) and has yet to train 2 year old winner this season (0 from 21 ) Odds around 6-4 don't look great value with the stable out form.

RED HIGHLITES looks solid here after finishing placed on his last two starts ,showing plenty speed on both starts .This faster ground should also suit better after getting bogged down in mud last time at Hamilton .Odds around 3-1 look fair value in this weak looking claimer .

Weekly Results Round Up !!

Good finish to the week with Munsarim winning the 1 mile claiming stakes on Saturday in good style by an easy 6 lenghs at Lingfield .Also landed quite gamble going off the 11-10 favorite from an early 3-1.

William Hills were very generous laying 3-1 on a horse that had never lost in claiming company and has now won 6 out 6  in claimers .Saying that 11-4 was widely available with most firms till mid afternoon
.
The early part of the week was bit of  a struggle with first three bets all running below par ,so quite happy to finish the week on a winning note with £132 / 1.32 pts profit .

THE RESULTS :

Saturday 21st July Claiming Bet !!

This week has  been disappointing so far with £228 / 2.28 pts loss going into Saturday .Hopefully we can recover them losses on Saturday .
It's back to the All Weather on Saturday  with 1 mile claiming stakes on the poly track at Lingfield's evening card .

8.15 LINGFIELD 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
10 runners declared for 1 mile claimer on poly track at Lingfield .This doesn't look the strongest claimer with the main two contenders being Munsarim & Aciano .

MUNSARIM : Profilic winner in this grade for trainer Keith Dalgleish winning 5 out 5 in claiming company ,including two here at Lingfield .Hasn't shown much in two starts in handicap company for Richard Fahey .Will be suited returning to claiming company and looks well treated at these weights.

ACIANO : Returned to form last time winning 1 mile seller at Wolverhampton .Had previosly shown some fair form in 2011 for Brian Meehan ,including winning 1 mile handicap at Doncaster and finishing second at Newmarket .

VERDICT : Aciano has to be repected after winning seller at Wolverhampton last time and has fair record on poly track winning 2 from 4 starts.

Of the other runners Firebreak would have possible chance on last years turf form ,though has looked disappointing on his last three starts and not certain to stay this mile trip.

MUNSARIM will need to bounce back after two poor efforts in handicap company ,though he is the class act here being rated (84) 5lb clear at the weights.Trainer Richard Fahey is also in great form having 16 winners in last two weeks .Odds around 11-4 look very fair value for horse who is unbeaten in this grade.

Wednesday 18th July Claiming Bet !!

Not great start to the week with £128.00 loss on Monday .Bold Marc was very disappointing in 7 furlong claiming stakes at  Southwell after being big drifter in market .Normally a front runner ,though could never get to the lead and weakened tamely before half-way .

The second bet was on White Deer in 1 mile 4 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton. After not getting the clearest of runs could only manage second after being well supported in the market 5-2 into 11-8 .

Moving on to Wednesday we are finally back on the turf at Catterick after they passed an early morning inspection with the ground described as soft.

3.40 CATTERICK 1 MILE 4F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
9 runners declared for 12 furlong claimer on the turf at Catterick .Ground conditions are going going be very testing with more rain forecast .On paper this looks three horse race between Private Story ,Elizabeth Coffee & Eijaaz.

PRIVATE STORY : Decent performer for Richard Hannon in 2009/10 .Got back to winning ways on his first start for David O 'Meara in 1 mile 6 furlong seller at Catterick in June .Well beaten in class 2 handicap at Royal Ascot last time, now wears first time visor.

ELIZABETH COFFEE : Won three times in Ireland last year ,including two handicaps at Dundalk .Returned to form last time winning 10 furlong claimer at Redcar for Ian Williams .Should go well under simular conditions .

EIJAAZ : Course specialist  with 7 wins at Catterick and won this race last year .Struggling to get his head in front this season, finishing second four times .Should be thereabouts, but has bit to find at these weights.

VERDICT:Elizabeth Coffee looks sure to go well here after winning simular race at Redcar last time, with Eijaaz well held back in fourth. However odds around 6-4 don't look great value on this very testing ground.

PRIVATE STORY was well beaten last time at Royal Ascot ,though is 9lb clear on official handicap ratings and will be suited dropping back into class 6  race. The return to 1 mile 4 furlongs on testing ground shouldn't be problem .Odds around 11-4 look fair value in weak looking claimer .

Monday 16th July Claiming Bets

A busy start to the week with two bets on Monday both on the All Weather at Southwell and this evening at Wolverhampton .

3.15 SOUTHWELL 7 FURLONG 0-75 CLASSIFIED CLAIMING STAKES

Nine runners declared for 7 furlong claiming stakes on the fibresand at Southwell .This looks quite competitive 0-75 classified claimer .The three main contenders look to be Flying Pickets ,Son Of Vida & Bold Marc .

FLYING PICKETS :Three time C/D winner here at Southwell  and also finished runner up three times at the course .Won 7 furlong claimer at Southwell back in March beating One More Romain by short head .Been disappointing on his last three starts ,though will be suited returning to his favorite course.

SON OF VIDA : Dual course winner here at Southwell for Mark Johnston .Changed hands for 6.600 guineas after winning seller back in March .Hasn't shown great deal on his first two starts on the turf for Alan Bailey ,though will be suited returning to the fibresand.

BOLD MARC : Front runner , looked as good as ever when bolting up by 8 lenghs in 1 mile claimer at Southwell in April . Not been at his best on his last two starts in handicap company,Will be suited by this dropping back in grade .

VERDICT : Not much to separate the three main contenders on official handicap ratings. Both Son Of Vida & Flying Pickets go well on this course and have to be respected .

BOLD MARC gets the vote after winning impressively in similar race at southwell back in April and could take some catching if in the same kind of form .Odds around 4-1 look very fair value.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8.00 WOLVERHAMPTON 1MILE 4F 0-60 CLASSIFIED CLAIMER
11 runners declared for 12 furlong 0-60 classified claimer on the poly track at Wolverhampton .This looks very weak claimer the two main contenders are White Deer & Guga

WHITE DEER : Won five times on turf though not won for over year .The last win coming in 14 furlong seller at Catterick last June .Finished fair fourth last time only beaten 2 lenghs over C&D in 0-65 handicap .

GUGA : Four time winner on turf ,the last win coming in May 2011 in 10 furlong handicap at Nottingham.Finished fair fourth on his last two starts in handicap company .Should be thereabouts in weak race.

VERDICT: This looks a very poor claimer with most of the field completely out of form .

WHITE DEER does at least know how to win in this grade and looks the one to beat .After putting in two solid runs at Wolverhampton in handicap company this season.Though not the greatest price doesn't appear to have lot to beat and 5-2 is an acceptable price.

Weekly results round up !!

This summer has so far been complete washout with more heavy downpours over past week .Hard to imagine nearly every big race meeting since May has been run on soft ground.
Looking back over the claiming bets this year ,there has so far been only four bets on the turf and its been over five weeks (June 9th ) since the last turf bet .

Obviously when betting in low class claiming races ,there are going to be quite few bets on the All Weather, though you don't expect to be having nearly all your bets on the All Weather in middle of summer .Hopefully the weather will improve soon, and we can have a few more bets on the turf.

Going back to last week there was just the one bet on Danny Warbucks in 1 mile three old claiming stakes on the the fibresand at Southwell .

Danny Warbucks made all the running and battled on well inside the final furlong to win by half lengh for £165.00 profit .Well supported in the market going off 7-4 favorite from an early 11-4 .That puts us back in profit in July .

Looking ahead to next week we are back on the All Weather on Monday with two claimers :  (3.15 Southwell 7 furlong classified claimer) (8.00 Wolverhampton 12 furlong classified claimer) .With the strong possibilty of at least one bet on Monday .

THE RESULTS :

Tuesday 10th July Claiming Bet !!

On Tuesday we have two claiming races at Wolverhampton & Southwell .The 6 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton 2.45 looks very competitive race with 13 runners declared for what looks very difficult to solve sprint claimer.

Going concentrate on the 3 year old claiming stakes at Southwell's evening fixture were 10 runners are declared for 1 mile claimer.

7.05 SOUTHWELL 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
10 runners declared for 1 mile claiming stakes on the fibresand at Southwell .This looks quite tricky little claimer with the three main contenders being  Daddy Warbucks ,For Richer & Frederickthegreat .

DADDY WARBUCKS : Won twice over 7 furlongs including winning here at Southwell in class 5 handicap in March off mark 68 .Finished fair second last time at Musselburgh in handicap over 1 mile .

FOR RICHER: Won 6 furlong maiden here at Southwell last June by 4 lenghs .Best run since when finishing third in 7 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton in June off mark 75 .Has stamina to prove trying mile for first time .

FREDERICKTHEGREAT :Finished good second in 9 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton in November off mark 64 .Hasn't shown much in two runs this season ,though trainer Hughie Morrison  has good record at Southwell and will be suited dropping into claiming company .

VERDICT: This looks very weak 3 year old claimer with question marks about most of the runners .

For Richer: Looks well treated at the weights in this claimer and has won at Southwell on the fibresand ,though there has to be big doubt about this longer trip.

Frederickthegreat : Has to bounce back after two disappointing runs, though will stay this trip and may be suited switching to the fibresand .Trainer Hughie Morrison has excellent record at Southwell with 50% strike rate in 2012 with 9  from 18 .

DADDY WARBUCKS :Looks the most solid here having already won handicap on the fibresand at Southwell and finished fair second last time at Musselburgh. Will also be suited returning to claiming company .Odds around 11-4 look fair value in this weak looking 3 year old claimer .

Weekly Results Round Up

Once again the weather has been horrendous this week with more race meetings being abandoned up and down the country .Hard to believe in the middle of summer, how much rain there's been in some places .

This week there has been just the one bet on BAWAARDI in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton on Tuesday .No real excuses for Bawaardi ran solid enough race in second ,though was beaten fair and square in the end by 11-2 shot Sir Oswold. With small loss on the race of £22.50 .

On Friday there looked quite decent betting opportunity in 1 mile claiming stakes at Doncaster on WEST END LAD who looked decent each-way value at 10-1 with conditions likely to suit .

The meeting passed 12.00 inspection and though there was four non runners in the race. 6-1 still looked decent each-way value .It was very frustrating when horse got loose at the start and had to be withdrawn. :-(

With more rain forecast next week it remains to be seen if there will be much action in the claiming races ,though on Tuesday we do have two claimers on the sand at Southwell & Wolverhampton .Hopefully we will be back in action then .

Friday 6th July Claiming Bet !!!

Monday's bet on Baawardi in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton finished fair second, though never really looked like catching the 11-2 winner Sir Oswold who won shade comfortably by 1.25 lenghs .

Baawardi was very well supported in the market going off the 6-4 favorite from early price of 11-4,though not too much damage done with £22.50 loss on the bet .

Moving on to Friday we have an above average 1 mile claiming stakes at Doncaster ,with ground
conditions likely to be testing with more heavy rain forecast .

2.30 DONCASTER 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5
10 runners declared for 1 mile claiming stakes at Doncaster .With heavy rain forecast on Friday morning the ground conditions are almost certain to be soft or heavy .The four main contenders look to be Kay Gee Be , Baawardi & Abidhabidubai .

KAY GEE BE :Useful handicapper on his day.Won twice last season in 1 mile handicaps, including winning class 2 handicap at Ripon off mark 86 .Hasn't looked quite as good this season ,though did finish decent 4TH beaten 8 lenghs in Thirsk Hunt Cup in May, behind the very useful Farhh .Looks well treated at the weights in this claimer .

WEST END LAD : Won 10 furlong handicap here at Doncaster in March off mark 77 ,though hasn't shown much on recent starts.Does have good record in claiming company 3 out 6 and will be suited by testing ground conditions

BAAWARDI : Goes well in this grade and finished fair second on Monday in 7 furlong claimer on the poly track at Wolverhampton .Won twice on turf last season including here at Doncaster .Has to prove he can handle testing ground conditions .

ABIDHABIDUBAI : Consistent filly with good record in claiming company(2112) .Won competitive 1 mile class 4 handicap at Redcar in April on (G/S).Looked unlucky not to win last time in 1 mile claimer at Warwick on soft ground .

VERDICT: Ground conditions could be crucial here, with very few runners being proven on ground this testing .

Kay Gee Be is the class act here having been rated as high as 93 last season ,though all his best form has been on faster ground and was beaten in claimer at Wolverhampton back in April .At  around the 2-1 mark doesn't look great value.

Baawardi knows how to win in claiming company and Ryan Moore looks interesting jockey booking ,though seems better suited to 7 furlongs and testing ground look big concern.

Abidhabidubai  goes well in this grade and will handle testing ground conditions ,though does have quite to find at these weights .

WEST END LAD will need to bounce back after few disappointing runs in handicap company ,though has good record in this grade and will love the testing ground conditions and looks decent each-way value at around 10-1

Monday July 2nd Claiming Bet !!

On Monday we are back at Wolverhampton again for 7 furlong claimer on poly track at 3.45 with nine runners declared .

WOLVERHAMPTON 3.45 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5:
Nine runners go to post for interesting looking 7 furlong claimer on poly track at Wolverhampton .

ATLANTIC STORY : Very useful performer in the past ,winning 12 times on poly track ,including winning twice at Wolverhampton .Hasn't been seen since pulling up in listed race at Wolverhampton in March 2011 .Takes big drop in class .

SIR OSWOLD : Won twice on fibresand at Southwell, with last win coming back in February in 8 furlong handicap of mark 65 .Not shown great deal on his last two starts on turf  and has bit to find at these weights.

BUAITEOIR : Fair performer in Ireland in 2010 winning twice on poly track at Dundalk for David Marnane .Had some fair form last year for Paul D'arcy, winning 1 mile class 4 handicap at Linfield off mark 78.Hasn't run for over a year and makes debut for Amy weaver stable.

BAWAARDI : Four time course winner here at Wolverhampton .Won 7 furlong seller over C&D back in April .Not shown much on his last two starts on turf in handicap company ,though will be suited dropping back into claiming company.

VERDICT:  Alantic Story would take plenty beating if can run anywhere near to mark of 98 in this claimer ,though clearly he's had his problems having not run for 18 months .

Buaiteoir also looks well treated at these weights and had some useful form back in 2011 .Has to be respected dropping into claiming company for first time ,though has obviously had some problems having not run for year.

With question marks about his two main rivals BAWAARDI looks solid here in this claimer.Has good record in this grade and goes well here at Wolverhampton .Odds around 11-4 look fair value .

Weekly / Monthly Results Round up !!

Just one bet this week on Monday in 6 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton on the David Evans trained Aquasulis at 5-1

No real excuses for Aquasulis who had good position in second place turning for home ,though weakened tamely with 2 furlongs to run and finished disappointing 6th.Loss £100.00 / 1.00 pt on the week .

June has been difficult month with poor weather conditions making it a very stop start month .Good betting opportunities have been hard to find in the claimers this month, with only four bets.Though not a great month, it has still finished up another profitable month .
