Ready and Waiting !!!

Not much happening at the moment with no bets in the claiming races for nearly three weeks .

April has been very slow month with only two bets this month and good betting opportunities have been very thin on the the ground in the claimers.

Poor weather conditions hasn't helped matters over the last couple of weeks ,though saying that April is always my quietest month of the year ,being the first month of the turf season .

Over the next few weeks we should start to see some good betting opportunities in turf claimers .May to September are normally my best months of the year and hopefully we can make some good profits over the next five months .

Weekly Results / Roundup

Again its been another quiet week, with just one bet this week on No Poppy in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Catterick on Wednesday .

No Poppy ran solid enough race coming from off the pace to finish second at  9-2 behind the Dandy Nicholls trained  George Benjamin .No damage done there with £5.00 loss on the race .

The first month of the turf season is always very quiet month for me ,with plenty of  horses making there season reappearance, finding suitable betting opportunities is never easy in April.

Moving onto next week we have few claiming races scheduled ,though most of these are on the All Weather .Hopefully there will  be good betting opportunity sometime next week.

1 BET ) 0 WINNER ) 1 SECOND ) LOSS -£5.00 / 0.05 PTS

OVERALL AFTER WEEK 15 :

Wednesday's Best Bet !!!

On Wednesday we have what looks interesting little claiming race on the turf at Catterick over 7 furlongs with 10 runners declared

3.00 CATTERICK 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
10 runners go to post for 7F claimer on the the turf at Catterick .On official handicap ratings we have  three main contenders .TAJNEED ,NO POPPY & GEORGE BENJAMIN .

TAJNEED has an official rating of 100 and is 23LB clear of his nearest rival .However looked very disappointing on his last four starts at the end of  last year.Has since rejoined Dandy Nicholls and takes massive drop in class into class 6 claimer .

NO POPPY : Consistent filly and had some solid form in handicap company last season finishing second three times ,including finishing second in 7F class 3 handicap at Doncaster off mark 80 .Will be suited returning to claiming company over 7 furlongs .

GEORGE BENJAMIN :C&D winner here at Catterick & Won 7F handicap at Thirsk around this time last year off mark 74 .Didn't show great deal on his seasonal reappearance at Doncaster and all his best form has been on faster ground.

VERDICT : TAJNEED is going to take plenty of beating if running anywhere near rating of 100 ,though is on losing run of 17 races .Odds around 6-4 look poor value for horse with no recent form

NO POPPY looks fair each-way bet  having shown some solid form in better races last season and won similar claiming race over 7F at Leicester back in May .Odds around 9-2 look fair each-way value.

WEDNESDAY'S BEST BET :

NO POPPY 3.00 LEICESTER
(SECOND SP 4-1 LOSS £5.00 / 0.05 PTS)
0.50PTS EACH-WAY @ 9-2 Bet365,Ladbrokes,Boylesports,PaddyPower

Weekly results / Round up

Not great deal to report this week with just one bet on The Dancing Lord in the 6 furlong claiming stakes at Redcar on Monday  .

Very disappointing performance from The Dancing Lord who faded tamely from half way finishing well beaten sixth behind the David Nicholls trained Point Of Issue .Loss on the week £100 / 1.00 PT

Overall its been solid start to the year with 6 winners from 15 bets for profit + £1335 /13.35 and with very decent return on investment of +63.93 % .With the turf season now under way we should start to see a lot more betting opportunities in claiming races.

THE RESULTS :

ON THE WEEK :
1 BET ) 0 WINNERS ) LOSS £100 / 1.00 PT

OVERALL AFTER WEEK 14 :
15 BETS ) 6 WINNERS ) 1 SECOND ) 1 THIRD ) 7 UNPLACED )

Monday's Best Bets !!!

Just the one flat card on Monday on the turf at Redcar with claiming race at 4.45 over 6 furlongs .Nine runners declared for low grade claimer ,though this does look quite interesting betting race.

4.45 REDCAR 6F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
Nine runners go to post for 6F claimer on fast ground at Redcar .There looks three main contenders Tallahasse , The Dancing Lord & Come On Dave .

TALLAHASSE :Useful 2 year old filly winning her first two starts at Beverley & Haydock .Highly tried last season in group and listed company ,though did look bit disappointing on her last two starts in handicap company .Takes big drop in class into claiming company for first time .

THE DANCING LORD : Consistent sort ,finished second on his last two starts on poly track over 6 furlongs in claiming and seller ,also had some fair form on turf last season winning two races over 5 furlongs at Folkestone & Goodwood .

COME ON DAVE : Finished good second in 5F maiden at Catterick behind the fairly useful Free Zone back in August ,though hasn't repeated that form since and looked bit disappointing on his last two starts in maiden company and this longer trip has to be concern .

VERDICT : Tallahasse is well clear on official handicap ratings and this represents big drop in class ,though there has to be question mark about how much ability she retains and this will be her first run for over 8 months .Odds around 2-1 make no appeal with those doubts.

Come On Dave has to prove he can stay this longer trip and will need to settle lot better than on his last two starts ,though may do better returning to the turf  and can't be ruled out dropping into claiming company for first time.

THE DANCING LORD has bit to find on official handicap ratings, though is very consistent in this grade and has been in good form this winter finishing second three times  .Will also be suited returning to the turf having won twice on the turf last season.Odds around 4-1 look very fair value. .

MONDAY'S BEST BET :
THE DANCING LORD 4.45 REDCAR
(UNPLACED SP 5-2 LOSS -£100 / 1.00PT)

Weekly / Monthly results round up !!!

Its been blank week with no bets in the claiming races ,though there has been four claiming races this week the field sizes have been very poor with biggest field being six runners .

The last two months has been bit frustrating ,having to wait long periods for a good betting opportunities, though can't complain too much with both months being profitable . Hopefully now that the turf season has got under way we will start to see a few more runners in claimers.

The switch to the claiming races last December has seen big improvement in the results with March being the fourth winning month in a row .

(21 Bets) 7 Winners )Staked £3350 / 33.50 pts) Return £5083 / 50.83 pts ) Profit + £1733 / 17.33 pts With return on investment +51.74 % .That's not a bad return from just 21 bets .

MONTHLY RESULTS IN MARCH :
2 BETS ) 1 WINNER )1 UNPLACED
PROFIT + £368.00 / 3.68 PTS )

RETURN ON INVESTMENT IN MARCH :
STAKED £200 / 2.00 PTS ) RETURN £568 / 5.68 PTS ) ROI +184.09%

Looking ahead to Monday's racing we do have 6 furlong claimer  on the turf at Redcar with nine runners declared .Which looks interesting little claimer and there looks a strong possibility of a bet .
