Review of 2012 !!!

This has been quiet week with just the one bet on Thursday. Hardy Red in two year old 7 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton ,finishing second at 11-4 for £16.00 loss on the week .

With only four runners declared for 10 furlong claiming stakes ,there will no claiming bet on Sunday at Lingfield .With no claimers scheduled for Monday either, that brings an end to this years claiming bets .

Overall December has been decent month with three winners & five seconds from 8 bets for £716.00 profit on the month .The only month with bigger profit in 2012 was January with £824 profit .

Having missed almost two months due to family illness, the figures have been quite satisfactory for the blog this year with £1986 profit .Seven winning months out ten .With + 29.87 % return on investment. The only real bad month being August with £320.00 loss .

The blog has now been running three years with profits totalling £7594 .With specializing on claiming races this year ,there was always going to be reduction in number of bets, though the quality has improved greatly on last year, with far more consistency and over double the profit .

In January 2013 I will be launching my second blog TIME FOR DOUBLE .In this blog I will be specializing in non handicap each-way doubles ,In total there should be around 120 bets with the claiming bets and each-way doubles .

With the same sort principles on both blogs. I'm confident the profits will again increase in 2013 .

2011 :86 BETS ) 18 WINNERS)PROFIT + £938 / 9.38 PTS

Quick Update !!!

Thursday's evening bet on Hardy Red finished close second in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton .

Slightly frustrating result as Hardy Red was looking good with two furlongs to run and traded as short as 1-12 in running on betfair ,though got collared close home by 16-1 rank outsider Its Only Business.

No real damage done  with £16.00 loss on the race ,though always frustrating when beaten by rank outsider who had never won a race .

No claiming races on Friday or Saturday ,though the blog will return on Sunday for 10 furlong claimer at Lingfield .

Thursday 27th December Claiming Bet !!!

On Thursday we have two claiming races at Lingfield and Wolverhampton .At Lingfield we have 5 furlong claimer on poly track .Three time course winner Drawnfromthepast will be difficult to beat in this claimer ,though odds around even money make little appeal.

Going concentrate on 7 furlong two year old claimer at Wolverhampton's evening fixture .

6.30 WOLVERHAMPTON 7F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES :
Six runners declared for 7 furlong two year old claimer at Wolverhampton .This looks wide open claimer with the three main contenders being . Hardy Red ,Imperial Spirit  & Marmot Bay .

HARDY RED : Won 6 furlong handicap at Ffos Las in September off mark 70.Also ran creditable third at Haydock ,slightly disappointing on his only two starts on poly track ,though looks open to improvement over this longer trip .

IMPERIAL SPIRIT : Maiden after 8 starts , has been placed three times on turf .Been disappointing on last three starts on poly track ,though should be thereabouts if he can reproduce his turf form .

MARMOT BAY : Three time course winner at Wolverhampton over 6 furlongs ,winning two sellers and claimer ,though has been well beaten on her last four starts .Looks well treated off bottom weight ,though hasn't convinced over 7 furlongs in past .

VERDICT : Big question marks about all six runners here .Strictly at the weights HARDY RED faces no easy task off top weight ,though is expected to show plenty improvement over this longer trip and can record his second win of the season .Odds around 11-4 look fair price.

Marmot Bay looks the main danger having finished just in front of Hardy Red last time and has 4LB pull at the weights ,though all her best form has been over 6 furlongs and there has to be question mark over this longer trip

Imperial Spirit looks best of the others on his turf form ,though just hasn't convinced in four starts on poly track  .

Quick update on Boxing Day !!!

Just quick update on Boxing day we have 7 furlong claimer on poly track at 2.10 Wolverhampton  .Majuro looks very well treated at these weights in this claimer, having dead heated in much better race last week at Lingfield .

Odds around 6-5 don't make much appeal ,though looks to have little to beat in what looks weak race .Not betting race for me at those odds ,though I do expect Majuro to win this comfortably .

Moving on to tomorrow's racing we have two claiming races at Lingfield & Wolverhampton and hopefully we will be back in action on Thursday.

Merry Christmas !!!

Thanks for visiting the site in 2012

The blog will return on Boxing day.

Weekly Results Round Up

Another solid week with £212 profit from two bets with one winner and one second .

The first bet was on Monday in 1 mile two year old claiming stakes at Wolverhampton on Myzamour .This was slightly frustrating bet after taking big drift in market going off 8-1 outsider of five .

Myzamour didn't have much luck in running getting hampered at crucial stage of the race ,and would gone very close with anything like clear run ,though had to settle for second place for £50.00 profit on the race.

The second bet was on Friday in 6 furlong claimer at Lingfield on Lujeanie .This looked good each-way bet at 5-1 having finished second on his last two starts at Lingfield.

In thrilling race Lujeanie came with strong run on outside and I was convinced he had got up on the line ,and was slightly surprised when they gave dead heat, though can't complain too much with £162.00 profit on the race.

After couple disappointing months ,I've been very pleased with the results so far in December with three winners and four seconds from 7 bets .For £732.00 profit.Hopefully we can finish off the year with another good week .

THE RESULTS :

Friday 21st December Claiming Bet

On Friday we have decent looking 6 furlong claiming stakes on poly track at Lingfield .This looks well above average class 6 claimer .

1.00 LINGFIELD 6 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES
6 runners go to post for 6 furlong claimer on poly track at Lingfield .The three main contenders look to be Noverre To Go ,Lujeanie & Majuro .

NOVERRE TO GO : Useful sort on his day, won three times this year ,including winning class 4 handicap at Kempton last time off mark 85 .Has good record in claiming company and has obvious claims.

LUJEANIE : Course & distance winner ,returned to form earlier this month, finishing good second in 5 furlong claimer at Lingfield .Followed that with another solid effort ,finishing second over course & distance behind the progressive three year old Forest Edge in class 4 handicap off mark 80 .Should go well returning to claiming company .

MAJURO :Dual course winner over 7 furlongs at Lingfield ,won 7 furlong seller seller at Wolverhampton last time.Drop in distance may not suit ,though looks well treated at the weights.

VERDICT : Noverre To Go. returning to claiming company  looks sure  to go well ,after winning class 4 handicap  at Kempton last time ,though looks very short in the market at around 10-11 .

LUJEANIE has put in two solid efforts at Lingfield recently and returning to claiming company can record his third win at the track .Odds around 5-1 look good each-way value in this small field.

FRIDAY 21ST DECEMBER CLAIMING STAKES BET

Quick Update !!!

Not much luck yesterday with Myzamour finishing second in 1 mile two year old claiming stakes at Wolverhampton .Myzamour looked bit unlucky getting hampered inside the final furlong ,and would gone close with clear run .

This was very strange betting race with Walter White being backed off the boards going off  11-8  from 5-2 ,which was hard to believe about horse that had been unplaced 10 times from 11 starts.

Myzamour went the other way taking huge drift in the market going off over 11-1 on betfair and over 3-1 on place market .I was quite happy to take 4-1 best price guarantee in the morning ,so no complaints with the 8-1 starting price .For £50.00 profit on the race .

Looking ahead to later in the week  there's no claiming bets tomorrow or Thurday, though there looks interesting 6 furlong claiming race at Lingfield on Friday .

Monday 17th December Claiming Bet !!!

On Monday we have two year old claiming stakes over extended mile at Wolverhampton .Again another small field with just five runners going to post .

4.25 WOLVERHAMPTON 8.5 FURLONG 2-Y-0 CLAIMER CLASS 6:
This looks trappy two year old claimer at Wolverhampton with all five runners having some kind of chance .

GABRIAL THE BOSS : Maiden after 10 starts ,though finished good second in handicap over course & distance .Also ran fair third in 1 mile handicap at Kempton in November .Should be thereabouts dropping into claiming company for first time.

BIX : Won 1 mile maiden at Hamilton on heavy ground in September ,though  disappointing on next start at the track finishing last of 5 in class 2 handicap .Needs to bounce back on his first start on poly track .

WALTER WHITE : Maiden after 11 starts .Best run coming over his course & distance when finishing 2 lengh fourth behind Crystal Peaks ,though again looked disappointing last time at  Lingfield .

MARMOT BAY : Won three races here at Wolverhampton over 6 furlongs( 2 sellers & claimer) ,though looked disappointing in 6 furlong handicap at Lingfield last time .Has question marks over this longer trip .

MYZAMOUR : Won over course & distance in nursery handicap in August off mark 51 ,returned to form last time finishing second in 1 mile claimer at Lingfield behind Club House .Should go well in similar type of race .

VERDICT: This looks tight race on official handicap ratings with little to choose between the five runners. However most of these need to bounce back after poor runs last time .

Walter White has been put in as favourite here, which is little surprising being 11 race maiden  .Odds around 5-2 look short on horse who has been unplaced 10 times from 11 starts

MYZAMOUR finished good second on Friday at Lingfield splitting two 65 rated rivals ,and has also put in two solid efforts over this course & distance.Off bottom weight she can record her second win at the track.Odds around 4-1 look fair value in five runner race .

Another solid week with £265.00 / 2.65 pts profit .Just two bets this week with Efistorm winning 6 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield on Tuesday at 9-2 for £270.00 profit .

The second bet was on Thursday in 6 furlong two year old claiming stakes at Kempton on Ishigunneatit at 3-1 .Slightly unlucky finishing close second (beaten short head) for £5.00 loss.

Overall its been good start to December with £535 profit so far on the month. Two winners & three seconds from five bets ,hopefully we can continue that good run on final week before Christmas.

Looking ahead to next week ,hopefully we should be back in action on Monday at Wolverhampton were there looks interesting 8.5 furlong two year old claiming stakes at 4.25

Quick Update !!!

Yesterday's claiming bet on Ishegunnieatit was just touched off, finishing second in 6 furlong claiming stakes at Kempton beaten short head . No damage done on the race with just £5.00 loss, though slightly disappointing getting beat after trading 1-4 in running on betfair .

With no more claiming races scheduled over the weekend ,that's me done for the week .I Will update the weekly results on Sunday evening  .

From Tuesday January 1st 2013 , I will be launching my new horseracing blog (Time For Double) This blog will be specializing in each-way doubles on UK flat races .Anyone interested please take look.

Thursday 13th December claiming Bet

Good result on Tuesday with EFISTORM winning the 6 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield SP 9-2 for £270.00 profit .Great to see the owe boy win his 27th race and sixth this year.Interesting Conor Dore reclaimed the 11 year for £7,000 after the race, having lost the horse in seller back in June .

On Thursday we have 6 furlong 2 year old claiming stakes on poly track at Kempton .

4.00 KEMPTON 6F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
Just five runners declared for two year old claimer at Kempton ,though on official handicap ratings there looks little between the five runners .

NOT RIGG : Finished good second over course & distance in maiden in October ,though has looked disappointing on last two starts at Wolverhampton .Will need to bounce back, dropping into claiming company .

IMPERIAL SPIRIT : Placed three times on turf  up to 7 furlongs, though has looked disappointing on last two starts on poly track .Takes drop in class ,though plenty to prove .

ISHIGUNNEATIT : Won 6F maiden at Carlisle in July ,returned to form last time in 6 furlong claimer over course & distance, finishing close second behind Hardy Blue .That form has been boosted with the winner winning again next time .

WINDFORPOWER : Won 5 furlong handicap at Lingfield in July off mark 67 ,been running consistently since ,finished close second last time in 6 furlong claimer at Wolverhampton .Every chance at these weights and should be thereabouts .

SOFI'S SPIRIT : Won her last two races in selling company at Wolverhampton & Lingfield ,though this looks stronger race and will need to improve to land this claimer .

VERDICT : This looks tight little two year old claimer on the ratings .Not Rigg has been put in  favourite here ,though has been well beaten on last two starts and looks worth opposing .

ISHIGUNNEATIT only beaten nose last time over C&D and wasn't helped when the rider dropped the reigns close home .That form looks solid with the winner Hardy Blue unbeaten in his last three claimers .Silvestre De Sousa riding for first time also looks positive jockey booking and can record her second win of the season.

Windforpower looks best of the others after putting in some solid efforts recently in this grade .

Tuesday 10th December Claiming Bet

On Tuesday we have 6 furlong claiming stakes on poly track at Lingfield .This looks competitive 0-70 sprint claiming stakes .

1.30 LINGFIELD 6F CLASSIFIED 0-70 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
11 runners go to post for 6 furlong claimer at Lingfield .This looks another wide open sprint claimer with at least half the field having some kind of chance at the weights .The three strongest contenders look to be Victorian Bounty ,Efistorm & Restless Bay .

VICTORIAN BOUNTY : Won 6F claimer at Windsor in October on heavy ground ,and finished fair fifth in 6 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton last time .Should go well returning to claiming company .

EFISTORM : Likeable veteran with 26 career wins ,including winning five times this year the last win coming in September at Goodwood in 6F class 4 handicap.Returned to form  last week when finishing good fourth in 7 furlong handicap at Lingfield .

RESTLESS BAY :  Consistent sort ,with all five career wins coming on poly track at Wolverhampton ,the last win coming in 6 furlong claimer in July .Been running consistently since in handicap company and should be thereabouts returning to claiming company .

VERDICT:Plenty of chances in open classified claimer. Dual course winner EFISTORM caught the eye last week in 7 furlong handicap at Lingfield  and goes particularly well for Kirsty Milczarek, who replaces the 5LB claimer, and can record  his sixth win of the year .

Victorian Bounty looks the main danger after winning turf claimer in October and looks well treated on his old form having won of mark 82 last year at Yarmouth .Handles poly track, having won handicap at Wolverhampton back in 2010.

Restless Bay looks best of the others after putting in some solid efforts recently in handicap company at Wolverhampton , and will be suited returning to claiming company .

Quick Update

On Monday we have 7 furlong claiming stakes on poly track at Lingfield ,though the short price favourite Lockantanks looks difficult to oppose here ,returning to claiming company for first time since winning 7 furlong claimer back in October. However makes little appeal at around 5-4 mark.

Hopefully we should be back in action tomorrow at Lingfield ,were there looks interesting 6 furlong claiming stakes at 1.30 .

Solid start to December with £270 profit on the week .Three bets this week with Drawnfromthepast winning the 7 furlong claiming stakes on Wednesday at 5-2 .

The other two bets both running OK in finishing second .Sunday's bet on One way or Another  was well supported in the market 5-1 into 3-1 ,though no excuses in finishing 2.5 lengh second behind Hurricane Spirit .

Sunday 9th December Claiming Bet

On Sunday we have 1 mile classified claiming stakes on poly track at Lingfield .This looks very competitive contest .

1.20 LINGFIELD 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5 :
10 runners declared for 1 mile claimer at Lingfield ,this looks wide open claimer with the three main contenders ,One Way Or Another ,Aciano & Sir George .

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER : Consistent sort ,bolted up in 1 mile handicap at Brighton in September winning by 8 lenghs .Finished close second on last two starts in claiming company at Wolverhampton & Lingfield .

SIR GEORGE : On long losing run ( Over two years & 23 races ) and not shown much in recent starts, though did show some fair form on turf this summer in handicap company . Needs to bounce back ,though can't be ruled out in weak claimer

ACIANO : Won 1 mile seller at Wolverhampton in July ,respectable efforts since ,including finishing second twice .Should be thereabouts in open looking race.

VERDICT : On official handicap ratings this looks tight  race .ONE WAY OR ANOTHER went close twice in this grade in October and can record another win for David Evans .At around the 5-1 mark looks solid each-way bet .

Quick Update

Good start to December with Wednesday's bet on Drawnforthepast winning nicely in 5 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield at 5-2 for £300 / 3.00 pts profit .

No bets given today ,though there was 10 furlong claimer at Lingfield at 1.20 the short price favourite Super Say looked impossible to oppose (winning comfortably at 4-6) .

No claiming races scheduled for Lingfield tomorrow ,though on Sunday there looks interesting 1 mile classified claiming stakes at the track .Hopefully we can finish the week with winner .

Wednesday 5th December Claiming Bet

On Wednesday we have 5 furlong claiming stakes on poly track at Lingfield ,this looks quite decent sprint claimer for this grade .

12.30 LINGFIELD 5 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
10 runners declared for 5 furlong sprint claimer at Lingfield . On official handicap ratings Sonko & Drawnfromthepast stand out at these weights .

SONKO : Progressive three year old ,with good record on the All Weather, 5 wins & 2 seconds from 8 starts .Won the last two starts over this course and distance in handicap company .Has good record in claiming company 1212 .

DRAWNFROMTHEPAST: Consistent sort  over 5 & 6 furlongs finished placed on the last four starts in handicap company ,also won five times this year the last win coming in 5 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton in October .

VERDICT : Sonko has been in great form winning back to back handicaps over course & distance at Lingfield .Looks sure to go well returning to claiming company ,though faces no easy task with Drawnfromthepast at these weights .

DRAWNFROMTHEPAST has been knocking on the door in recent handicaps and looks well treated returning to claiming company .On 7LB better terms can reverse last week's course & distance form with Sonko .

Lujeanie looks best of the others and would have been interesting had this been over 6 furlongs ,though has never won over 5 furlongs and may struggle for pace on this sharp track.

WEDNESDAY 5TH DECEMBER CLAIMING STAKES BET :
DRAWNFROMTHEPAST 12.30 LINGFIELD
1PT EACH-WAY @ 5-2  BET365* PADDY POWER*

Monday 3rd December Claiming Stakes Bet

Slightly frustrating day was expecting two strong bets today ,though with Fathsta now being non runner in 2.50 at Kempton .This has made big difference to the market with April Fool my intended selection being lot shorter than expected .

The other selection Rakticate in 3.00 at Wolverhampton was also intended bet ,though this again is shorter than I was hoping for. However as both selections are strongly fancied ,I  have decided to go for small each-way double .

2.50 KEMPTON 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5:
Nine runners declared for 7 furlong claiming stakes on poly track at Kempton .The three main contenders look to be Fairy Wing & April Fool

FAIRY WING :Won four times in Ireland for Jessie Harrington ,including two wins on poly track at Dundalk earlier this year .Makes his first start for Conor Dore stable and should go well dropping into claiming company for first time .

APRIL FOOL :Course specialist with 6 wins here at Kempton .Already won three times this year ,including two wins here at Kempton. Not been in the best form in recent weeks, though has excellent record in claiming races at Kempton (13211)

VERDICT : APRIL FOOL will need to bounce back after few disappointing efforts recently ,though has excellent record in claimers at this track and should be able to dominate being the only confirmed front runner in the race .

Fairy Wing had some fair form in Ireland and looks the main danger on his first start for Conor Dore.

3.00 WOLVERHAMPTON 9F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
8 runners declared for 9 furlong two year old claiming stakes at Wolverhampton with two runners standing out .Rakticate & Divine Angel .

RAKTICATE :Won 1 mile seller at Nottingham in good style by 5 lenghs at the end of October on soft gground. Also finished good second last time over course & distance in handicap behind Keep Calm .Should go well in weak looking claimer .

DIVINE ANGEL : Won 1 mile seller on fibresand at Southwell last time finishing over 7 lenghs in front of main rival Rakticate .Looks well treated at the weights in this claimer and should go well if handling the polytrack .

VERDICT : RAKTICATE looks to be improving with each run and looked well suited to this course & distance ,when finishing close second in handicap last time ,though she has bit to find with Divine Angel on Southwell form ,appeared unsuited by deep fibresand that day ,and can reverse that form on this more suitable surface.

Divine Angel looks obvious danger and would be very difficult to beat if she can reproduce her Southwell form here, though there has to be question mark she will be as good on this different surface.

Just the one bet this week with Corporal Maddox winning 7 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield on Wednesday for £360.00 profit (Landing big gamble 3-1 into 5-4) .Its good to finally have winning week after some disappointing results recently.

Overall November has been poor month with only 1 winner from 7 bets with £175.00 loss on the month ,though could been lot worse having been £535 down before this week .

Hopefully we can get good start in December with two possible bets on Monday at Kempton & Wolverhampton .

Wednesday 27th November Claiming Stakes Bet

On Wednesday we have three flat cards at Kempton ,Lingfield & Wolverhampton ,with two claiming stakes races .Going concentrate on the 7 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield.

1.00 LINGFIELD 7 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 : 10 runners go to post for 7 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield. This looks a decent looking claimer with the three main contenders being Corporal Maddox , Majuro , Chookie Avon &

CORPORAL MADDOX : Decent turf performer ,won competitive 7 furlong handicap at Ascot in July of mark 85 .Ran an eyecatching third last time in claimer on the fibresand at Southwell ,finishing strongly from well off the pace .Looks well treated at the weights and should go well.

MAJURO : C/D winner here at Lingfield ,has excellent record in claiming races (3121122) .Finished  third on Saturday in fair 1 mile claimer at Wolverhampton .Best in at the weights here and will also be suited dropping back to 7 furlongs .

CHOOKIE AVON : In good form this year winning three times in handicap company .Finished close second in 7 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton last time only beaten head .Faces no easy task off top weight .

VERDICT : Majuro goes well in this grade and is 5LB clear on official handicap figures, though will need to improve on Saturdays 4 lengh third in claimer at Wolverhampton to win this claimer,

CORPORAL MADDOX is class above these rivals at best having won twice at Ascot ,though only third in claimer at Southwell last time appeared unsuited by the deep fibresand a .Will be suited returning to this faster surface at Lingfield ,having finished close second in class 2 handicap over C/D on his last start at the track .

Weekly Results Round Up

Another very disappointing week with £300 / 3.00 pts loss .November looks like being the worse month of the year ,with no winners from 6 bets for £535 / 5.35 pts loss so far in November .

The first bet of the week was on Thursday in 6 furlong claiming stakes at Kempton on course specialist Mambo Spirit who looked to have good each-way claims at 8-1 ,though after being slowly away never figured in the race finishing well beaten sixth behind Ertikaan for £100 loss on the race .

The second bet on Saturday was in 1 mile claiming stakes at Wolverhampton's evening fixture on Classic Colori ,who looked to have strong claims taking a big drop in class, into class 6 company for first time ,though put in very disappointing performance .After being well supported in the market going off 9-5 from 3-1  could only finish fourth behind Desert Vision for £200 loss on the race .

November's bets have been most disappointing with just two second's from 6 bets ,though these bad months do happen from time to time ,the bets this month have performed a very long way below standard .

Saying that long term profits are what count in this game and the blog is still over £6500 /65.00 pts in profit since the blog started in Feb 2010 .Hopefully we can get back on track very soon .

THE RESULTS :

Saturday 24th November Claiming Bet

On Saturday we have 1 mile claiming stakes at Wolverhampton's evening card ,with nine runners declared .

8.20 WOLVERHAMPTON 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
Nine runners declared for an above average 1 mile claiming stakes at Wolverhampton with the three main contenders . Super Say ,Classic Colori & Desert Vision .

SUPER SAY :Had some fair form in Ireland ,including finishing second in 11 furlong handicap at Dundalk in October off mark 88 .Has his first start for Jamie Osborne today and takes big drop in class .

CLASSIC COLORI : Useful sort on his day ,though hasn't won since March 2010 .However did finish second in good class 2 handicap at Newmarket in September .Will be suited by this big drop in class .

DESERT VISION :Been in good form lately ,including winning claiming stakes over C/D in October .Also finished close third last time in claimer over C/D .Has bit to find at the weights ,though has good record in claiming races .

VERDICT : Super Say is 4LB clear at the weights and has shown some fair form on poly track at Dundalk ,though is not the most consistent of horses and at around 7-4 looks little short in the market .

CLASSIC COLORI takes big drop in class here and would take plenty of beating if he can reproduce the form of his close second in class 2 handicap at Newmarket .Has proven form on poly track with his last win coming on poly track at Lingfield  .Odds around 3-1 look good value in this class 6 claimer ,

SATURDAY 24TH NOVEMBER CLAIMING BET :
CLASSIC COLORI 8.20 WOLVERHAMPTON

Thursday 22nd November Claiming Stakes Bet!!!

On Thursday we have 6 furlong claiming stakes on the poly track at Kempton .

With six non runners just
6 runners go to post for competitive little claimer .The three main contenders look to be Mac Gille Eoin ,Ertikaan & Mambo Spirit .

4.10 KEMPTON 6F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:

MAC GILLE EOIN : Nine time winner ,returned to form last time winning 6F class 5 handicap at Lingfield off mark 74.Faces no easy task conceding weight all round ,though has plenty of form in better grade races.

ERTIKAAN : Consistent sort ,finished second three times this season on turf .Including finishing second last time in 6F claimer at Windsor .Finished fifth on his only start on poly track here at Kempton .

MAMBO SPIRIT : Goes well here at Kempton with three wins & 4 seconds at the course, including two wins over this C&D .Ran fair third last time in 6F claimer at Windsor, finishing just behind Ertikaan .Has bit to find at these weights ,though has to be respected with such good course record.

VERDICT : Ertikaan looks well treated in this claimer, and has put in some fair efforts in handicap company, though all his best form has been on turf ,odds around 9-4 look little short on a horse unproven on poly track.

At the prices MAMBO SPIRIT looks the each-way value having such good record on the course .With  6 non runners in the race 8-1 looks very fair value and betfair are still paying three places on the place market .

THURSDAY 22ND NOVEMBER CLAIMING STAKES BET :

Weekly Results Round Up !!

Not a great start to November with another £120.00 loss this week .Just the two bets on the week with the first bet on  Thursday on Masai Moon in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Southwell .

Really disappointing run from Masai Moon who looked to have plenty in her favour ,course and distance winner dropping into claiming company for first time ,though after drifting in the market and going off at 6-1 ,ran complete shocker finishing well beaten tenth for £100.00 loss.

The second bet was on Saturday on Bint Alzain in 1 mile claiming stakes at Lingfield ,this looked solid each-way bet in weak looking three year old claimer .No real complaints with this bet. Bint Alzain had every chance inside the final furlong ,though had to settle for second place at 3-1 for £20.00 loss .

Overall we are still showing  £1200 profit for the year .So not all doom and gloom and hopefully next week we can have a change of luck .

THE RESULTS :

Saturday 17th November Claiming Stakes bet !!

On Saturday we have 10 furlong three year old claiming stakes on poly track at Lingfield .

8 Runners declared for 10 furlong three year old claimer on poly track at Lingfield .This looks very weak claimer ,with just two main contenders .Ewell Place & Bint Alzain

1.05 LINGFIELD 1 MILE 3-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
EWELL PLACE : Fair performer on the turf for Robert Mills ,including winning conditions even at Newbury in July, though has shown very little on his last four starts .Takes big drop in class here into class 6 claimer .Should go well on his first start for Dandy Nicholls .

BINT ALZAIN :Won three times this year up to 9 furlongs ,including winning 6 furlong claimer at Kempton in August ,been disappointing on her last three starts in handicap company ,though will be suited returning to claiming company .

Ewell Place is the clear pick of the weights being 8LB clear on official handicap ratings and takes big drop in class here ,though has looked very disappointing on recent starts and is difficult assess how much ability he retains.Odds around 6-4 look little too short .

BINT ALZAIN has bit to find at these weights ,though looks more reliable than his main rival and has fair record in this grade .Odds around 11-4 look fair value in what looks two horse race.

SATURDAY 17TH NOVEMBER CLAIMING BET :
BINT ALZAIN 1.05 LINGFIELD
0.50 PTS EACH-WAY @11-4 BET 365
(SECOND SP 3-1 LOSS £20.00 )

Thursday 14th November Claiming Stakes Bet

On Thursday we have three claiming stakes races ,with two on the fibresand at Southwell and the other claimer on the poly track at Kempton .Going concentrate on 7 furlong claiming stakes at Southwell at 3.20 .

SOUTHWELL 3.20 7 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
12 runners go to post for 7 furlong claimer on fibresand at Southwell ,this looks very competitive claimer with 7 course and distance winners in the field. The three strongest contenders look to be Alpha Tauri,Masai Moon & Imprimis Tagula

ALPHA TAURI : Inconsistent sort ,though has good record here at Southwell with all four career wins coming over this C/D .Not shown great deal on recent starts on the turf ,though will be suited returning to the fibresand at Southwell .

MASAI MOON : Dual course winner here at Southwell ,Including winning class 4 handicap at Southwell in April by 4 lenghs off mark 79 .Hasn't shown much on his last three starts on poly track in handicap company, though will be suited dropping into class 6 company for the first time .

IMPRIMIS TAGULA : Course specialist with 10 wins here at Southwell ,including winning twice over C/D this year .Returning from a 6 month break ,though should go well if fully fit .

VERDICT :This looks a tricky claimer with plenty of course winners .Course specialist Imprimis Tagula has to be respected here with such good record in this grade ,though may need this run having been off the course for 6 months .

Alpha Tauri also looks possible danger at these weights ,having shown all his best form over this course and distance .Not the most consistent of runners ,though has to be respected in this grade .

In wide open claimer MASAI MOON is just preferred ,with this drop in class sure to suit having already won twice this year in better company ,including winning class 4 handicap off mark 79 at this track .Odds around 10-3 look fair value .

THURSDAY 15TH NOVEMBER CLAIMING STAKES BET:
MASAI MOON 3.20 SOUTHWELL

Quiet start to the week !!

Not much happening so far this week with no flat racing on Monday or Tuesday .Wednesday see's the start of the All Weather flat season with two cards at Southwell & Kempton .

At Kempton we have 10 furlong claiming stakes at 4.25 .Unfortunately this race has cut up badly with only four runners declared .

The Andrew Balding trained RENEGOTIATE will be difficult to beat here after finishing good third in competitive claimer at Kempton earlier last month .However at odds around 11-10 doesn't represent any great value .Not bet race for me .

Moving on to Thursday we have another two cards from Southwell and Kempton with three claimers scheduled .There looks strong possibility of at least one bet on Thursday with the 3.20 seven furlong claiming stakes at Southwell looking an interesting race.

Weekly Results Round Up !!

Not a great return to action this week with no winners from 2 bets for £115 loss on the week .

Tuesday's bet on Phase Shift was disappointing in 10 furlong claiming stakes at Redcar .With ground conditions in her favour,I was expecting a decent run though for some reason she failed to reproduce her previous winning form, finishing a well beaten fourth for Loss of £100.00

The second bet of the week was on Thursday on Last Sovereign in 6 furlong claimer at Wolverhampton finishing second at 7-2 .No real complaints ,Last Sovereign ran a solid enough race ,though never really looked like catching Noverre To Go in closing stages beaten 3/4 lengh in second place for Loss of £15.00

The All Weather winter season starts next Wednesday .The All Weather claimers are normally my most profitable races  ,so hopefully we can have some good results this winter.

THE RESULTS :

Thursday 8th November Claiming Stakes Bet .

On Thursday we have 6 furlong claiming stakes on the poly track at Wolverhampton .This looks a wide open claimer with 13 runners declared .

5.20 WOLVERHAMPTON 6F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
With three morning non runners ,10 runners go to post for decent looking claimer for this class .This looks  competitive with few of these having some kind chance .The three strongest contenders look to be .Noverre To Go ,Last Sovereign & Where's Reiley.

NOVERRE TO GO : Won 6F class 4 handicap off mark 80 at Kempton in July ,been running consistently since without winning ,including finishing close fourth over C/D last time in class 4 handicap off mark 84.Should go well dropping back into claiming company .

LAST SOVEREIGN : Won four times this season ,including winning decent class 4 handicap over 5F at Newmarket in August .Also won 5F claimer at Wolverhampton in September .Slightly disappointing last time in class 3 handicap at Kempton when finishing 6TH ,though will be suited dropping back into claiming company .

WHERE'S REILEY :Fibresand specialist winning 7 times at Southwell .Returned to form last time winning 5f claimer at Wolverhampton beating Red Cape .Looks well treated at the weights and should be thereabouts.

VERDICT :LAST SOVEREIGN looked good when winning claimer on this course in good time at the end September and had previously won fair looking class 4 handicap at Newmarket .Looks well treated at these weights in this claimer and goes particularly well for 7LB claimer Jacob Butterfield .

Both Noverre To Go & Where's Reiley look main two dangers after running good races last time at this course .

Disappointing Return !!!

Disappointing return to action, with Tuesday's claiming stakes bet on Phase Shift running a stinker in 10 furlong claimer at Redcar for £100 loss on the day.

Arley Hall completely reversing form with Phase Shift winning the race easily by 5 lenghs ,with Phase Shift beaten over 16 lenghs in fourth.

Not sure why Phase Shift ran such poor race with ground conditions in her favour ,though for some reason she didn't repeat her Catterick form .though the drop back in trip probably didn't help her cause .

Looking ahead to later in the week we have 6 furlong claiming stakes on Thursday at Wolverhampton's evening fixture .Hopefully there will be much better outcome .

Tuesday 6th November Claiming Bet

After two month break its good to be back, hopefully we can return with good couple months before the end of the year.

On  Tuesday there are two claiming races .At Southwell we have 11 furlong claimer on the fibresand .Course specialist La Estrella looks impossible to oppose ,though at short odds makes no betting appeal .

Going concentrate on the 10 furlong claimer at Redcar ,though only 6 runners are declared this looks quite an interesting little race .

3.00 REDCAR 1 MILE 2F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
Ground conditions are going to be very testing at Redcar. The three main contenders look to be Phase Shift ,Arley Hall & Preistleys Reward .

PHASE SHIFT : Showed improved form last time winning 12 furlong claimer at Catterick on soft ground  beating Arley Hall by comfortable 2.25 lenghs .Looked well suited by testing conditions last time and should go well in similar race.

ARLEY HALL :Consistent sort ,won 12 furlong handicap at Musselburgh in August on fast ground off mark 65 .Seemed to get outstayed last time when finishing second behind Phase Shift on testing ground at Catterick .

PREISTLEYS REWARD :Won 9 furlong handicap at Redcar on soft ground in May off mark 67. Returned to form last time, finishing fair second in 11 furlong claimer in France  .However had previously been beaten four times in selling company this season.

VERDICT : Preistleys Reward second in claimer in France last time is difficult to weigh up , though had looked disappointing when beaten in selling company and is passed over.

Arley Hall on 4LB better terms with Phase Shift has to be respected ,though not certain to appreciate this more testing ground conditions .Seemed to get outstayed in closing stages at Catterick last time.

PHASE SHIFT looks sure appreciate this testing ground after winning comfortably last time in claimer at Catterick on soft ground. The drop back to 10 furlongs on heavy ground shouldn't be problem and looks fair value at 11-4 in this small field.

TUESDAY 6TH NOVEMBER CLAIMING BET:
PHASE SHIFT 3.00 REDCAR

Blog Returns !!!

Just quick update the blog had to be suspended suddenly in early September .This was due to family illness, with my mother being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer .

The last eight weeks as you can imagine have been very difficult .Having to make the 85 mile trip to Addenbrookes hospital on regular basis hasn't helped matters.I am happy to report after successful operation the tumour has been removed and hopefully there will be good outcome .

With everything starting to get back to normal again the blog will return next week on Tuesday 6th November . Hopefully we can finish the year on bright note .

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sent good wishes ,it was very much appreciated .

Thanks
Jerry

Thursday 6th September Claiming Bet !!

On Thursday we have 7 furlong 2 year old claiming stakes on the poly track at Kempton .Hopefully we can get good start in September .

5.40 KEMPTON 7 FURLONG 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
8 runners declared for 7 furlong 2 year old claimer at Kempton .This doesn't look the strongest claimer the three main contenders look to be Gigawatt ,Red Adair & Wordsaplenty .

GIGAWATT : Made promising debut in 7 furlong maiden at Epsom finishing 4.25 lenghs behind the Marcus Tregoning trained Nile Knight when unfancied 33-1 shot.Looks open to improvement  ,though the Jim Boyle stable haven't been in the best of form recently.

RED ADAIR : Finished third on his first two starts in  6 furlong maidens at Folkestone & Salisbury ,though has looked very disappointing on his last two starts finishing last both times in handicap company .Takes big drop in class here ,though will need to bounce back in first time blinkers .

WORDSAPLENTY :Shown improved form since fitted with hood .Won 7 furlong seller at Catterick last month .Looked unlucky last time when finishing fifth at Wolverhampton after getting hampered at crucial stage .Should go well off bottom weight .

VERDICT : Red Adair would be the one to beat on his Salisbury form and has the highest BHA rating (70) ,though has shown next to nothing on his last three starts and looks worth opposing .

Gigawatt showed promise on his debut and looks open to plenty improvement on his second start ,though there has to be big question mark about the form of the Jim Boyle stable having not had winner for over 7 weeks .

With question marks about her main two rivals WORDSAPLENTY looks the value here after looking unlucky last time in simular race at Wolverhampton .Luke Morris riding for first time also looks significant jockey booking .

Weekly & Monthly Results Round Up !!

Just the one bet this week on Friday in the 7 furlong 2 year old claiming stakes at Wolverhampton on Stan Moore trained Wordsaplenty at 7-1.

Though only finishing fifth, looked slightly unlucky after getting hampered inside the final furlong when coming with what looked a promising run .These things seem to happen when your struggling to find winners .

August has been real struggle with no winners from 5 bets on the claiming races and £320 loss on the month ,though not a huge loss its still been the worse month of the year by some way .Saying that its still the first losing month since April.Hopefully its just small blip and we can recover those losses in September.

Friday 31st August Claiming Bet !!

On Friday there are two claiming races, both 2 year old claimers, on the turf at Thirsk & on the poly track at Wolverhampton .

Going to concentrate on the 7 furlong two year old claiming stakes at Wolverhampton's evening card .

7.20 WOLVERHAMPTON 7F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES
12 runners declared for 7 furlong two year old claimer on the poly track at Wolverhampton .With Brazilian Clown being early morning non runner the main two contenders look to be Charlie Em and Wordsaplenty .

CHARLIE EM :Shown improved form since stepping up to 7 furlongs ,winning seven furlong handicap at Catterick off mark 66 and then finishing fair second at Newcastle last time .Looks well treated in this claimer and should go well if handling the poly track .

WORDSAPLENTY : Improved form since being fitted with hood ,finishing fair second in 6 furlong handicap at Ffos Las off mark 60 and then winning 7 furlong seller at Catterick last time .

VERDICT : Charlie Em looks the one to beat here after putting in two solid runs in handicap company ,though odds around 6-4 look very short for horse yet to run on poly track .

WORDSAPLENTY receiving 14lb from her main rival looks the each-way value here at around 7-1 .Looked better suited stepping up to 7 furlongs last time when winning seller at Catterick and looks well treated off 8 stone .

Weekly results round / Up

August has been a bit of a struggle with the claiming races with no winners from four bets ,though there has been three thirds, this hasn't been great month with £220 loss heading towards the end of the month .

Going back to last week there was just one bet on Monday in the 2 year old 5 furlong claiming stakes at Thirsk on Dream Vale at 4-1 ,well supported in the market going off the 5-2 clear second favourite, though could only manage third place and with two late non runners in the race making it a seven runner race this ended up being losing bet with £100.00 loss

Always very annoying when you get them late non runners, making it first two for each-way bets, though there is always the option of placing the bets on betfair who pay out on three places on the place market .

Moving on to this week, not great deal happening in the claiming races in the early part of the week ,though I do expect to be back in action on Thursday & Friday.

THE RESULTS :

Monday 20th August Claiming Bet !!

On Monday we have three claiming stakes races , going concentrate on the 5 furlong claimer at Thirsk & 7 furlong claimer at Kemptons evening fixture .

2.30 THIRSK 5F  2 YEAR OLD CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 4
9 runners declared for 5 furlong 2 year old claimer at Thirsk on good ground .On official handicap ratings the three main contenders look to be Done Dreaming ,Dream Vale & Coconut Kisses

DONE DREAMING : Won 5 furlong maiden last time at Ayr beating Bogsnog by half lengh.Looks open to more improvement after just two starts ,though does have to concede plenty weight in this claimer.

DREAM VALE : Bolted up by 7 lenghs in 5 furlong maiden at Catterick in May and then ran decent 4th in Hillary Needler at Beverley .Has looked disappointing on his last two starts at Chester & Newmarket ,though will be suited by this drop in class .

COCONUT KISSES : Won 5 furlong maiden at Wolverhampton in April ,showing plenty of speed .Outclassed last time when finishing last of 3 in conditions event at Lingfield .Makes her turf debut .

VERDICT : This looks tricky 2 year old claimer .Done Dreaming has to be respected here after winning maiden last time at Ayr ,though doesn't face an easy task having to concede weight all round .

DREAM VALE will need to bounce back after two disappointing efforts ,though would take plenty of beating if she can reproduce her Catterick or Beverley form in this claimer .Odds around 4-1 look fair value .

MONDAY 20TH AUGUST CLAIMING BET:

Weekly results round up !!

Not great week with two losing bets for £120 / 1.20 pts loss .The first bet was on Wednesday in 7 furlong 0-75 classified claiming stakes at Beverley on Lindoro ,though well supported in the market 9-2 into 7-2 could only finish disappointing fifth . Loss of £100.00 on the bet .

The second bet was on Friday in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Newbury on Duster ,and again this one was also well supported in the market going off 2-1 favourite from 7-2 .After trying to make all the running could only manage well beaten third .Loss of £20.00 on the bet .

The last few bets have been bit disappointing with only one winner from last 7 bets ,though no great losses the winners have dried up somewhat .Hopefully that will change next week .

Moving on to next week it looks like being busy day on Monday with three claiming races scheduled .There looks a strong possibility of  at least two bets on Monday .

Friday 17th August claiming bet !!

Disappointing result on Wednesday with Lindoro only finishing fifth in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Beverley .No excuses for Lindoro had every chance in the race ,though found very little inside the the final furlong .Loss £100.00 on the day .

Moving quickly on to Friday we have 7 furlong claiming stakes at Newbury. This looks quite decent claimer for this grade.

2.50 NEWBURY 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5 :
11 runners go to post for 7 furlong claimer on good ground .The two main contenders look to be Duster & Fishforcompliments

DUSTER :Returned to form in June winning 7 furlong class 4 handicap at Folkestone on soft ground off mark 83 .Been disappointing on his last two starts in class 3 handicaps ,though will be suited by this drop in claiming company.

FISHFORCOMPLIMENTS : Very consistent in this grade finishing second on his last four starts in claiming company .Not easy to win with having only won 3 times from 63 starts.

VERDICT : Fishforcompliments never seems to run bad race in this grade and looks sure to be thereabouts again ,though is very difficult horse to win with having finished second 15 times.

DUSTER dropping into claiming company for first time looks the one to beat. All three career wins have come at higher level and seems to handle any ground conditions .Ryan Moore has good strike rate for the Hughie Morrison stable .

Wednesday 15th August Claiming Stakes Bet!!

On Wednesday we have very competitive 7 furlong 0-75 classified claiming stakes at Beverley .Ground conditions are described as good/firm ,though heavy is rain is forecast for later in the afternoon.

2.15 BEVERLEY 7F CLASSIFIED CLAIMING STAKES 0-75
11 runners declared for 7 furlong claiming stakes at Beverley .This looks very wide open with most of the field having some kind of chance .The three main contenders look to be Violent Velocity ,Lindoro & Moheebb

VIOLENT VELOCITY :Consistent sort .Been in good form this season  ,including winning 1 mile seller here at Beverley in April .Finished good second last time over C&D at Beverley in class 5 handicap .Should go well returning to claiming company .

LINDORO :Won twice this season at Musselburgh & Southwell .Also finished second twice in class 4 handicaps at Carlisle & Haydock .Slightly disappointing last time in competitive class 3 handicap at Ascot ,though will be suited by this drop in class.

MOHEEBB :Returned to form last time finishing Good second  in an above average claimer at Carlisle over 9 furlongs behind the useful claiming horse Kay Gee Be .Looks well treated at the weights and will be suited by any rain .

VERDICT : This looks very competitive claimer with little to seperate the main contenders on official handicap ratings.Violent Vilocity & Moheebb have possible chances in wide open race .

LINDORO has done well since joining the Brian Ellison stable in May ,winning twice & finishing placed three times .Will be suited by this drop in class having finished second twice in class 4 handicaps in June .Odds around 9-2 look very fair each-way value .

Weekly results round/up

Quiet start to the month with just one bet so far in August ,that came on Monday evening in 9 furlong ladies pro-am claiming stakes at Carlisle on  theAnn Duffield trained Just Lille .This looked a decent each-way bet at 5-1 having never been beaten in claiming company .

No real complaints in the race Just Lille ran a solid enough race, finishing third after trying to make all the running .Saying that with two furlongs to run she did look the likely winner and did trade as short as 1-5 in running on betfair ,though in the end was well outstayed by Kay Gee Be who seemed to relish the soft ground conditions and won going away at the finish .

Just Lille was very well supported in the market going off the 3-1 favourite from 5-1 ,though no damage done with money back on each-way bet at 5-1 .

Looking ahead to next week there's not a great deal happening in the early part of the week, though we do have 7 furlong claimer at Beverley on Wednesday .Followed by two claimers on Friday at Kempton & Newbury .Hopefully we will be back in action sometime next week .

Monday 6th August Claiming Bet !!

On Monday its back to the turf with 9 furlong pro-am ladies claiming stakes at Carlisle's evening meeting .

6.05 CARLISLE 1 MILE 1F PRO-AM CLAIMING STAKES:
16 runners declared for very competitive 9 furlong lady riders pro-am claimer at Carlisle with ground conditions good/ soft .This looks quite decent claimer for class 6 race, with four horses rated in the 80's .The three main contenders look to be Kay Gee Bee ,Oneofapair & Just Lille

KAY GEE BEE :Fair performer on his day,Won 1 mile claimer at Doncaster on heavy ground by 5 lenghs earlier last month .Slightly disappointing last time when only fourth in simular race here at Carlisle over 1 mile .

ONEOFAPAIR :Returned to form in May winning 10 furlong class 4 handicap at Newcastle off mark 79 on soft ground ,though very disappointing last time in handicap at Ayr ,Drops into claiming company for first time.

JUST LILLE : Excellent record in this grade winning 4 out 4 in claiming company .Won twice in June at Beverley & Chester .Finished good fifth last time in Carlisle Bowl handicap .Should go well returning to claiming company .

VERDICT : Oneofapair should go well here dropping into claiming company for first time and looks well treated at these weights.Has to be respected with this drop in grade, though ran below par last time at Ayr and is not always the most consistent of horses .

JUST LILLE has 100% record in this grade and ran well last time in competitive handicap here at Carlisle and should go well returning to claiming company .Odds around 5-1 looks very fair each-way value.

Weekly / Monthly Results Round Up

Good to come back with winning week, after very poor week last week with the weeks only bet Ziefhd winning 6 furlong three year old claiming stakes on Monday at 7-2 for £218.00 / 2.18 pts profit .

The All Weather bets have been performing well all year with 11 winners from 27 bets for 40.81% strike rate .I've been very disappointed with the turf bets this year with only 1 winner from 8 bets 12.50 % .Hopefully they will show some improvement before the end of the turf season .

July has finished up another winning month with( £194 / 1.94 pts profit) .3 winners from 10 bets ,though its been rather up and down month, that makes it 6 winning months out 7 in 2012 .

My claiming stakes bets are never going to produce massive profits each month ,though they will produce consistent steady profits most months .With a reasonable return on investment over the year.

Monday 30th July Claiming Bet!!

On Monday its back to All Weather with 6 furlong three year old claimer on poly track at Lingfield .

LINGFIELD 2.25 6F 3-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
8 runners declared for 3 year old claiming Stakes on poly track at Lingfield .On official handicap rating this looks three horse race between Redair , Ziefhd and Asian Trader .

REDAIR : Great record on poly track over 5 furlongs with 6 wins from 7 starts ,and also has good record in claiming races 3 from 5 .Finished fair second last time in 5 furlong handicap at Ffos Los.Has yet to win over 6 furlongs from 8 starts .

ZIEFHD : Been disappointing on his last three starts on turf ,though has some fair form on poly track ,including finishing good second in 7 furlong handicap here at Linfield in May off mark 80.Should go well dropping into claiming company for first time .

ASIAN TRADER :Finished fair third in 20 runner maiden at Doncaster on debut in May ,though has been disappointing on his last two starts .Lightly raced though hard to weigh up.

VERDICT : Redair looks the one to beat here having already won five times this year ,though all her wins have been over 5 furlongs , though she has finished second twice over 6 furlongs she has yet to win over this distance from 8 starts .Has to be respected ,though there remains doubt over this trip .

ZIEFHD is 3LB clear at the weights, she will need to bounce back after some disappointing runs on turf .However all her best form has been on poly track and should go well with this drop in class .Odds around 7-2 look fair value .

Weekly Results Round / Up

Saturday's claiming bet on Benzanno in 1 mile claiming stakes at Salisbury was bitterly disappointing ,weakening quickly with 2 furlongs to run and finishing last of nine. Not sure what happened with Benzanno after being very well supported in market 7-2 into 2-1 ,though ran no kind of race.

Overall its been very disappointing week with £300 / 3.00 PTS loss ,with all three bets finishing unplaced .These bad weeks do happen from time to time ,though I can't remember backing three horses in row that ran so bad . Hopefully next week we will see a big improvement.

THE RESULTS :

Saturday 28th July Claiming Bet !!

Not great week so far with two losing bets .Not sure why but the turf bets are not performing up to standard at the moment .With only one winner from 7 bets this season( 14.28%) . That compares with 10 out 26 on All Weather (38.46%)

Moving on to Saturday we have 1 mile 0-75 classified claimer for 3 and 4 year olds at Salisbury's evening meeting .Hopefully we can finish the week with winner on the turf.

6.40 SALISBURY 1 MILE 0-75 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5
10 runners declared for (0-75) 1 mile claimer on the turf at Salisbury .This looks quite competitive claimer with four main contenders .Benzanno,Mayo Lad,Purple N Gold , Aciano .

BENZANNO :Big improver since being fitted with hood ,winning 9 furlong handicap at Epsom last time in good style. Also finished good second at Epsom on his previous start on soft ground .Should go well if handling this faster ground.

MAYO LAD : Consistent sort ,hasn't finished outside the first three on his last 6 starts .Won 6 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton back in April .

PURPLE N GOLD :Won 9 furlong seller at Yarmouth earlier last month in good style ,though was very disappointing last time in claimer at Newmarket beaten 20 lenghs .Well treated at the weights.

ACIANO : Won 9 furlong seller at Wolverhampton earlier this month ,and finished fair second in simular race at Lingfield last time .Won on the turf last season at Doncaster and should be thereabouts.

VERDICT : Mayo Lad is very consistent performer and should go well here ,though has been beaten favorite on his last three starts and doesn't look the easiest horse to win with .Odds around 9-4 make little appeal .

Purple N Gold is best in at the weights ,though was very disappointing last time in claimer and will need to bounce back .

BENZANNO looks improved performer after putting in two solid runs in handicap company at Epsom recently .Has to prove he can handle this faster ground ,though looks to have the strongest form .odds around 7-2 look fair value.

Wednesday 25th July Claiming Bet !!

Again another slow start to the week with Monday's claiming bet on Red Highlites finishing disappointing fifth in 5 furlong claiming stakes at Beverley .The last few bets on the turf haven't really performed that well ,with all the recent winners coming on the All Weather .

Hopefully now the ground conditions have improved ,we can start to have a few more winners on the turf .

Moving onto Wednesday we have two claimers the 6F 2 year old claimer at Lingfield looks very difficult ,so going to concentrate on 5F claimer on the turf at Catterick .

5.00 CATTERICK 5F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :
9 runners declared for 5 furlong claimer at Catterick on Good/firm ground. This looks quite decent contest for class 6 race with two horses offically rated 90.The three main contenders are Foxy Music ,Partner & Crimea.

FOXY MUSIC :Fair sprinter on his day .Finished second twice this season ,including in class 2 handicap at Chester in May off mark 90 .Looks well treated at these weights and takes big drop in class .

PARTNER :Had some fair form in Ireland 2009 /10 winning four times for David Marnane .Returned to form in May Winning class 2 handicap at Thirsk for Kevin Ryan ,though hasn't shown much on his last three starts . Takes big drop in class into claiming company for first time, though looks very inconsistent sort.

CRIMEA : Lightly raced 6-Y-0 .Not won for over 2 years ,though has been placed twice on poly track at Wolverhampton recently .Has decent record in claiming company ,including when winning claimer at Hamilton on fast ground by 7 lenghs.

VERDICT : Foxy Music is very well treated in this claimer 5LB clear at the weights and looks to have an obvious chance ,though doesn't win that often with record of 4 wins from 50 starts and all his best form has been on soft surface .Has to be repected taking big drop in class ,though odds around 5-4 don't look great value.

CRIMEA has plenty to find at these weights with Foxy Music ,though has proven record in this grade and fast ground conditions will suit .Trainer Dandy Nicholls also has good record with his runners in claimers this season 32% (6 winners from 19 runners) . At around the 5-1 mark looks the each-way value.

Monday 24th July Claiming Bet!!

On Monday we are back on the turf at Beverley with 5 furlong 2 year old claimer on ground described as good/firm .

6.30 BEVERLEY 5 FURLONG 2 YEAR OLD CLAIMING STAKES:
9 runners declared for 2 year old claimer over 5 furlongs at Beverley .This doesn't look the strongest claimer with Findog & Red Highlites looking the two main contenders .

FINDOG :Finished promising third on debut in 5 furlong maiden at Ripon ealier last month .That was fair effort after being slowly away and swerving at the start ,ran on strongly in closing stages .Should go well dropping into claiming company.

RED HIGHLITES : Ran good second in 5 furlong maiden at Catterick earlier this month showing plenty speed.Looked unsuited by heavy ground last time when finishing third in 5 furlong maiden at Hamilton .Should be suited by this faster ground .

VERDICT : Findog should improve for his debut third at Ripon and looks sure to go well in this weak looking claimer ,though there has to be big concern about the form of the Ollie Pears stable, having only had one winner since April (1 from 83 ) and has yet to train 2 year old winner this season (0 from 21 ) Odds around 6-4 don't look great value with the stable out form.

RED HIGHLITES looks solid here after finishing placed on his last two starts ,showing plenty speed on both starts .This faster ground should also suit better after getting bogged down in mud last time at Hamilton .Odds around 3-1 look fair value in this weak looking claimer .

Weekly Results Round Up !!

Good finish to the week with Munsarim winning the 1 mile claiming stakes on Saturday in good style by an easy 6 lenghs at Lingfield .Also landed quite gamble going off the 11-10 favorite from an early 3-1.

William Hills were very generous laying 3-1 on a horse that had never lost in claiming company and has now won 6 out 6  in claimers .Saying that 11-4 was widely available with most firms till mid afternoon
.
The early part of the week was bit of  a struggle with first three bets all running below par ,so quite happy to finish the week on a winning note with £132 / 1.32 pts profit .

THE RESULTS :

Saturday 21st July Claiming Bet !!

This week has  been disappointing so far with £228 / 2.28 pts loss going into Saturday .Hopefully we can recover them losses on Saturday .
It's back to the All Weather on Saturday  with 1 mile claiming stakes on the poly track at Lingfield's evening card .

8.15 LINGFIELD 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6:
10 runners declared for 1 mile claimer on poly track at Lingfield .This doesn't look the strongest claimer with the main two contenders being Munsarim & Aciano .

MUNSARIM : Profilic winner in this grade for trainer Keith Dalgleish winning 5 out 5 in claiming company ,including two here at Lingfield .Hasn't shown much in two starts in handicap company for Richard Fahey .Will be suited returning to claiming company and looks well treated at these weights.

ACIANO : Returned to form last time winning 1 mile seller at Wolverhampton .Had previosly shown some fair form in 2011 for Brian Meehan ,including winning 1 mile handicap at Doncaster and finishing second at Newmarket .

VERDICT : Aciano has to be repected after winning seller at Wolverhampton last time and has fair record on poly track winning 2 from 4 starts.

Of the other runners Firebreak would have possible chance on last years turf form ,though has looked disappointing on his last three starts and not certain to stay this mile trip.

MUNSARIM will need to bounce back after two poor efforts in handicap company ,though he is the class act here being rated (84) 5lb clear at the weights.Trainer Richard Fahey is also in great form having 16 winners in last two weeks .Odds around 11-4 look very fair value for horse who is unbeaten in this grade.
