Summary of 2011!!!

Finished up losing week with just one bet on Boxing day on Kingswinford finishing unplaced in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton .Loss £100.00

December has been very quiet month with just seven bets .

 (1 WINNER ) 2 SECONDS ) 2 THIRDS )

Overall it has been slow month with limited betting opportunities in claiming races ,though it did finish up small winning month with profit £155 / 1.55 pts

I have to admit 2011 hasn't gone as well as expected though showing small profit on the year ,it hasn't been great year with only £938.00 / 9.38 Pts profit.Finishing 10th in betting league from 44 tipsters with profit 24.64 Pts since joining that site on July 7th .

I do expect big improvement in 2012 with the changes that have been made to the blog in December .Overall since the blog started in Feb 2010 the profit + £5608 /56.08 which is quite satisfactory return.

Fridays claiming analysis !!!

No bet on Thursday with Le King Beau never touching bigger than 9-4, with The Dancing Lord being non runner there was very little chance of obtaining 11-4 with only 5 runners in the race .Le King Beau went on to win the race beating Faraway in close finish .

Moving on to Fridays racing we have two flat cards at Lingfield & Wolverhampton with two claiming races one at each meeting .Slightly disappointing that both races have attracted very few runners .

1.35 LINGFIELD 10F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Just Seven declared runners for 10 furlong claiming stakes at Lingfield .This looks two horse race with Nibani & Encore Un Fois well clear on official handicap ratings .

Nibani : Formerly trained by Sir Michael Stoute changed hands for £11,000 in August at Doncaster sales .Still maiden after 15 starts though has finished placed four times this year for current trainer Alastair Lidderdale .Finished fair third last time in class 5 handicap at Kempton behind Sakhee's Pearl .

ENCORE UN FOIS :Placed in handicaps for Luca Cumani before changing hands for £15,000 at Newmarket October sales.Been in good form for new trainer  George Baker  winning twice in claiming company at Kempton beating Ice Cold Bex both times .

VERDICT : Kieron Fallon looks interesting jockey booking for Nibani ,though doesn't look an easy ride and faces difficult task at these weights .

ENCORE UN FOIS Looks very well treated in this weak looking claimer, receiving 16LB from his main rival and should make it 3 out 3 in claiming company .

NO BET RACE

(1) ENCORE UN FOIS (2) NIBANI

5.10 WOLV 7F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
6 declared runners for 7 furlong 2 year old claimer, with Not Bad For A Boy & Tiablo looking the two main contenders .

NOT BAD FOR BOY : Won 7 furlong novice stakes at Lingfield earlier this month beating Delft by neck.Finished fair fourth off mark 78 on Boxing Day over C&D in class 4 handicap behind Mr Red  Clubs .Should go well dropping into claiming for first time.

Tiablo : Finished good second in 7f maiden at Kempton in October behind Amthal only beaten neck .Looked unsuited by drop back in trip last time when finishing disappointing fifth in 6 furlong maiden at Wolverhampton .Will be suited returning to 7 furlongs and looks open to improvement after just three starts .

VERDICT : NOT BAD FOR BOY looks the one to beat after finishing fourth over course & distance last time in much better race. Tiablo looks open  improvement returning to 7 furlongs and looks the main danger .

Thursdays claiming stakes analysis !!!

Two flat cards on Thursday at Southwell & Kempton with just the one claiming stakes at Kempton's twilight card .

5.20 KEMPTON 6F 2-Y-0  CLAIMER CLASS 6
Just the six runners for quite interesting little 2-Y-0 claimer. Not many these can be completely ruled out ,though the three main contenders look to be Faraway ,Le King Beau & One More Roman .

Faraway : Had very busy season running 16 times ,winning three races including 2 sellers and claimer .Finished fair fourth in handicap at Southwell on Tuesday off mark 70 .

LE KING BEAU : Very consistent sort winning three of last four races in claiming company for William Muir .Has his first start for John Bridger after being claimed for £5,000 after winning 6 furlong claimer at Lingfield last time.

One More Roman :Won 6 furlong seller last time at Lingfield beating The Dancing Lord in good style .Looks open to some improvement after just four starts ,though this looks lot stronger race.

VERDICT : LE KING BEAU has proven record in this grade having won three times in claiming company and looks the one to beat .Faraway looks the main danger after finishing fourth in better race at Southwell on Tuesday .

Odds around 9-4 for LE KING BEAU this morning look little short ,was hoping for at least 11-4  .Will keep close eye on the market through the day, though will be no bet race unless obtaining 11-4 or bigger.

Tuesdays claiming analysis !!!

Boxing day's bet on Kingswinford was bit disappointing only finishing fifth in 7 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton after being well supported in market 13-2 into 9-2 .

After getting outpaced at half way Kingswinford never really looked like getting back into the race though was only beaten 2 lenghs in the end .Bawaardi given good ride by Ryan Moore just got the better of One Way Or Another in close finish .Loss of £100 on the day .

Moving onto Tuesday's racing just one flat card on fibresand at Southwell ,with very disappointing turn out in 5 furlong claiming stakes with just four  runners .

1.15 SOUTHWELL 5F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Just four runners  for five furlong claimer ,with Desert Icon & Le Toreador looking the main two contenders .

Le Toreador : Won twice this year at Lingfield & Carlisle has decent record on poly track with 4 wins from 12 starts ,though was disappointing on his only start here at Southwell .

Desert Icon : Won three times this year all over 6 furlongs including two claimers.Ran fair third last time over C&D behind Six Wives in handicap .Looks well treated at these weights .

VERDICT :DESERT ICON is very well treated in this claimer 7LB clear on official handicap ratings ,though all four career victory's are over 6 furlongs ,finished fair third last time over C&D ,though would be better suited by an extra furlong.

Le Toreador has some decent form on poly track ,though has to prove he can handle this fibresand surface and faces stiff task trying to concede 23LB to Desert Icon .

Not really betting race for me though DESERT ICON is slightly favoured receiving so much weight  from main rival Le Toreador .

Boxing Day Best Bets !!!

Busy day for racing up and down the country with 11 meetings. The highlight for Jump fans being King George at Kempton Park.

Just one flat card on boxing day at Wolverhampton with one claiming race over 7 furlongs at 2.25

2.25 WOLVERHAMPTON 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
10 runners  for 7 furlong claiming stakes this looks wide open with plenty chances .The four main contenders look to be .One Way Or Another , Kingswinford , Bawaardi  & Stevie Gee .

One Way Or Another has been in good form this winter winning seller & claimer in November, finished good third last time off mark 77 carrying 10 stone in handicap over C&D at Wolverhampton .

Bawaardi won twice on turf back in April & May ,though hasn't shown great deal since .Not got the  greatest  record on All Weather with 1 win from 16 starts.

KINGSWINFORD won twice at Chester in the summer claimer and handicap ,finished fair third in claimer over C&D in October .Disappointed on his last two starts on turf .Well treated off 8 stone 5LB

Stevie Gee running consistently finished second on his last two starts in seller and claimer ,has bit to find with One Way Or Another on earlier form.

VERDICT : One Way Or Another should go well after running four solid races this winter ,winning twice ,this looks quite competitive claimer and odds around 11-4 look little too short ,though has to be respected.

KINGSWINFORD is 4LB clear on official handicap ratings and has excellent record in claiming races 313121 .Lightly raced on AW just had three starts and needs to bounce back after couple disappointing runs on turf in Oct/Nov.13-2 looks big price and looks worth taking A chance he can bounce back to form.

Bawaardi with Ryan Moore riding for Richard Fahey looks interesting jockey booking, though all his best form has been on turf and poor strike rate on All Weather

Overall it's been steady start with the claiming bets in December only one winner though five out 6 bets have been placed for profit + £255 / 2.55 pts.Nothing spectacular but hopefully it will finish up winning month.

Wishing all the readers a  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.Would also like to wish all the other sports bloggers out there best of luck with all there selections in 2012.

Wednesday's Claiming Analysis !!!

Two flat cards on Wednesday at Wolverhampton & Kempton .Just the one claiming race at Kempton's twilight card at 5.45

5.45 KEMPTON 1 MILE 3-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Disappointing turn out with just six runners for very weak looking 1 mile 3 year old claiming stakes.Three main contenders Encore Un Fois ,Ice Gold Bex & Brown Pete

ENCORE UN FOIS, Placed in Handicaps for Luca Cumani ,Won on debut for new trainer George Baker in claimer at Kempton  in November beating Ice Cold Bex by 1.75 lenghs .Disappointing last time in 12F handicap at Lingfield .Will be suited dropping back into claiming company and this shorter trip.

Ice Cold Bex, Has finished second twice still maiden after 8 starts ,drop back to 1 mile may suit better ,though has bit to find with Encore Un Fois .

Brown Pete won 8f maiden at Dundalk for Paul Flynn last season .Shown very little this season till finishing third in 9f claimer at Wolverhampton earlier this month .Well beaten last time in 12f handicap at Lingfield on his first start for Richard Guest .Will be suited by this shorter trip .

VERDICT : UNCORE UN FOIS returning to claiming company over this shorter trip looks the most likely winner .However odds around 5-4 make little betting appeal.Brown Pete looks the main danger with the drop back to mile likely to suit better.

Mondays best bets !!

One flat card on Monday at Wolverhampton .We have one claiming race for 2 year olds over the extended mile.

4.20 WOLVERHAMPTON 1MILE 141 YDS 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES
9 Runners declared for 2 year old claimer over the extended mile .This looks quite strange 2 year old claimer with two trainers both having three runners in the race .On paper this looks three horse race with Let Your Love Flow ,La Romantique & Redclue.

LET YOUR LOVE FLOW ,Won claimer over C&D in November beating Final Delivery by head, looked slightly unlucky last time when finishing close second in similar contest .Never settled that day pulling far too hard in slowly run race.

La Romantique Still a maiden after five starts ,finished fair fourth last time in 1 mile handicap at Kempton off mark 67 .Drops into claiming company for first time.

Redclue looks quite interesting newcomer ,gelded son of first season sire Red Clubs ,stable can ready a newcomer and has to be respected in weak looking claimer .

VERDICT : LET YOUR LOVE FLOW looks the one to beat after running two solid races here at Wolverhampton .The Marco Botti trained newcomer Redclue could be the main danger ahead of stablemate La Romantique.

Was hoping for around 5-2 mark for LET YOUR LOVE FLOW at best price 15-8 this morning looks little too short and will not be playing at those odds .

Sundays best bets!!

Been quiet week so far with just one bet on Friday .Field sizes have been main problem with very few ruuners .On  Sunday we have one flat card at Kempton Park and one claiming race over 7 furlongs at 2.45

2.45 KEMPTON 7F CLAIMER CLASS 6
8 runners declared for seven furlong claiming stakes with three main contenders .Marajaa,Where's Riley& Fishforcompliments .

Marajaa, Dual course winner here at Kempton, finished fair fourth last time behind Iron Step in class 4 handicap over C&D at Kempton off mark 78.Takes drop in class here into claiming company for first time ,though is on long losing run of 22 races.

Where's Riley ,Won three times this season over 5 & 6 furlongs ,goes particularly well on the fibresand at Southwell winning there 6 times .Looks well treated in this claimer ,though this longer trip is big concern.

FISHFORCOMPLIMENTS ,Won class 4  handicap over 7f at Musselburgh in September off mark 73 ,returned to form last time finishing fair second behind One Way Or The Other in 7 furlong  claimer at Lingfield .

VERDICT : Interesting little claimer with likely favourite Marajaa taking big drop in class after contesting some fair handicaps this season ,though you have to go back to July 2009 for his last win and odds around 13-8 look short for horse on a losing run of 22.

Where's Riley has been in good form this season  ,though has only ran over this 7 furlong trip once and was well beaten .

FISHFORCOMPLIMENTS is not the easiest horse to win with ,though did nothing wrong last time finishing close second in similar contest at Lingfield and did win class 4 handicap in September. With question marks about first two in the market looks fair each-way value at around 5-1.

Saturdays best bets !!

Friday's bet on Aquuleus Pictor finished third in 6 furlong claiming stakes at Southwell.Subject to strong support in market going off 5-2 favourite from 9-2 .

No excuses in the race had every chance after trying make all the running, did trade as short as 8-15 in running on betfair ,though was well beaten in the end by Katy's Secret .Not much damage done with £5.00 loss on the day .

Moving on to Saturday's racing just one flat card at Lingfield with one claiming race for 2 year olds at 12.20

12.20 LINGFIELD 6F 2-Y-0 CLAIMER CLASS 6
Just six runners for six furlong 2 year old claimer .This looks three horse race between
Mr Knightly ,Berlusca and Le King Beau .

Mr Knightley has decent record in claiming races winning 3 from 4 ,looked slightly disappointing last time when finishing second in 5 furlong claimer at Kempton behind Sonko when an odds on favourite. This longer trip should suit better.

BERLUSCA Won 6 furlong handicap at Wolverhampton in October off mark 62 ,ran another solid race last time again at Wolverhampton from wide draw finishing close third off mark 65 behind Sunny Side Up .Drops into claiming company for first time .

Le King Beau has been in good form recently winning  two of his last three starts in 7 furlong claimers.Won with plenty in hand on Thursday at Kempton beating Young Prince in good style.

VERDICT : Mr Knightley is 7LB clear on offical handicap figures and will be better suited by this longer trip . However was disappointing last time when beaten in similar contest .At around the 5-4 mark doesn't look the greatest value  .

Le King Beau can't ruled out here after winning two claimers  ,though the drop back in trip may not suit .

BERLUSCA  Dropping into claiming company for first time should go well here .Finished credible third last time in handicap at Wolverhampton from poor draw

Fridays best bets!!

Two flat meetings on Friday at Southwell & twilight card from Wolverhampton .Just the one claiming stakes at Southwell over 6 furlongs .

11.55 SOUTHWELL 6F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 .
11 runners declared for 6f claimer on fibresand .This looks quite competitive with 8 course winners in the race .The three main contenders look to be Equuleus Pictor ,Desert Strike & Autumn Blades .

EQUULEUS PICTOR Won twice this season including over C&D in July beating Ace Of Spies by 1.25 in class 5 handicap.Finished fair sixth last time from bad draw at Southwell in handicap only beaten just over 3 lenghs .Drops into claiming company for first time.

Desert Strike Has won four times this year ,returned to form last time finishing close third in 5f handicap at Wolverhampton off mark 75 .Has yet to win on fibresand at Southwell ,though has finished second three times.

Autumn Blades back to form on his last 2 starts finishing second behind Ingleby Arch last time at Southwell in claimer ,though drop back in trip may not suit.

VERDICT : This looks wide open claimer with plenty chances .EQUULEUS PICTOR has shown some fair form in handicaps this season and should go well dropping into claiming company for first time.Desert Strike & Autumn Blades both look possible dangers .

(1) EQUULEUS PICTOR (2) DESERT STRIKE (3) AUTUMN BLADES

Thursday's claiming analysis !!!

Two flat cards on Thursday at Southwell & Kempton .We have two claiming races 2.30 Southwell & 4.00 at Kempton .Both races have very small fields always problem this time of year in these claiming races.

SOUTHWELL 2.30 1 MILE CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Disappointing turn out with just four declared runners ,though three of these are C&D winners .The race looks between Double Duchess & On The Cusp.

DOUBLE DUCHES dual C&D winner at Southwell in January winning seller and handicap by wide margins ,making all on both occasions .Returned to form last time when finishing fair third in above average seller over C&D.

On The Cusp won four times this year including twice over C&D at Southwell .Won 10 furlong handicap at Ffos Las off mark 62 in November ,though has been disappointing on his last two starts   in handicaps here at Southwell .

VERDICT : On The Cusp has to be respected dropping into claiming company for first time this season, though may struggle to concede 12LB . DOUBLE DUCHES looks well treated here off 8 stone and should take some catching in this small field .

(1) DOUBLE DUCHES (2) ON THE CUSP .

NO BET RACE

4.00 KEMPTON 7F 2-Y-0 CLAIMER CLASS 6
Five runners declared for this 7 furlong 2 year old claimer .With Young Prince & Crowning Star looking the main contenders .

YOUNG PRINCE Won in good style over C&D  here at Kempton in November off mark 72, looked disappointing last time at Lingfield when beaten in three runner race by Le King Beau when odds on favourite ,though that looked farce of race run at absolute crawl over 14 seconds slower than standard. This race should be run at better pace .

Crowning Star has looked disappointing on his last two starts ,though had some fair form earlier in season winning 6f maiden at Lingfield .Looks well treated at weights with decent claimer Ryan Powell taking off 5lb .

VERDICT :  Le King Beau faces difficult task at these weights .Crowning Star is best in at weights receiving 13LB from Young Prince and could improve for first time blinkers, though all his best form has been over 6 furlongs

YOUNG PRINCE looks more solid option  having won nicely in handicap over C&D in November ,can be forgiven for disappointing run last time in slowly run race .Odds around 4-5 make no appeal however.

(1) YOUNG PRINCE (2) CROWING STAR .

Tuesday's claiming analysis !!!

One flat card on Tuesday on the fibresand at Southwell  with 1 mile 3 furlong claiming stakes at 1.00

1.00 SOUTHWELL 1M 3F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 .
9 runners declared for 1 mile 3 furlong claiming stakes. This looks very weak claimer with just three contenders .West End Lad ,Its only Jude & Kalahaag

West End Lad has won twice this season in 1 mile handicaps on turf at Leicester and is dual course winner here at Southwell ,though all his best form is over 1 mile .has doubts about this longer trip

Its only Jude won three three times this year over 1 mile ,and is four time course winner .Didn't show great deal over this trip on Saturday .

Kalahaag won 7f maiden at Goodwood in 2010 ,hasn't shown great deal since joining Dandy Nichols  in summer ,though does receive plenty of weight .

VERDICT : This looks very weak claimer with doubts about most of thesE over this trip.West End Lad & Its Only Jude are clear on official handicap ratings ,though both are better over shorter.West End Lad looks more reliable and looks most likely winner if staying this longer trip.

Sundays claiming analysis !!!

Saturday's bet on Let The Love Flow finished second in 9 furlong claiming stakes at Wolverhampton  ,though would probably won the race had she not pulled so hard for first half mile .

In very slowly run race run over (6 seconds slower than standard) Sophie Doyle just couldn't get the horse too settle and in circumstances did well to finish close second .Slightly disappointing ,though not too much damage done with £55.00 loss on the day.

Moving on to Sunday we have one flat card at Southwell with two claiming races 12.30 & 2.30

12.30 SOUTHWELL 1MILE 4F CLASSIFIED CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Just six runners declared for 1mile 4 furlong claiming stakes this looks very tricky race with in form trainer Brian Ellison having three runners .With three main contenders Bivouac ,Overule & Lifetime.

BIVOUAC  Goes well here at Southwell won five races here in 2010 ,though hasn't ran for nearly year .Would take plenty beating if fully fit .

Overule not won since 2009 ,though did finish fair second in claimer at York in July .Not shown great deal on his last four starts and unproven on fibresand.

Lifetime Won 9f maiden at Hamilton for Mark Johnston in August ,though has been disappointing in handicaps on his last three starts .Changed hands for £7,000 at October sales.Takes drop in class here ,though unproven on fibresand.

VERDICT :  Plenty question marks here with both Overule & Lifetime having there first start on fibresand . BIVOUAC is proven winner on fibresand, though has too prove his fitness having not run since December 2010.Not race to get involved in with too many question marks.

NO BET RACE

2.30 SOUTHWELL 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
8 runners declared for 7 furlong claimer at Southwell .With three main contenders Jobe ,Autumn Blades & Ingleby Arch .

JOBE Won claimer over C&D at Southwell  in November beating Salerosa by head with Autumn Blades well behind ,disappointed last time in handicap at Kempton .Will be suited returning to claiming company  .

Autumn Blades finished second last time in seller over 7f at Wolverhampton  behind One way Or Another .Had looked very disappointing on his first three starts this season .

Ingleby Arch course specialist with eight course wins all over 6 furlongs ,last win came here in claimer in February .Poor record over this trip 0 from 9.

VERDICT :JOBE returning to claiming company is well treated at these weights and looks the one to beat .Ingleby Arch has never convinced over this trip and Autumn Blades looks very unreliable these days.I was expecting around 5-2 / 11-4 mark for JOBE at best price 2-1 this morning I will not be getting involved .

Saturdays best bets !!

Two flat cards on Saturday at Southwell & Wolverhampton .Just the one claiming race on Saturday at Wolverhampton's evening fixture .Again we have another 2 year old claimer ,at least this time we have few more runners.

7.50 WOLVERHAMPTON 1 MILE 1F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Ten runners declared for 2 year old claimer over the extended 1 mile 1f .Not the strongest looking 2 year old claimer with just two main contenders .Let Your Love Flow & Guava

Guava looks well treated in this claimer off 7 stone 11LB  .Won 6f handicap off mark 60 back in October and then finished fair third in 7 furlong handicap at Brighton off mark 65 .Hasn't shown great deal on his last two starts .Takes big step up in trip .

LET YOUR LOVE FLOW consistent filly who goes well her at Wolvehampton  ,won claimer here last time over 1 mile 141 yds beating two reliable claiming types Fast Delivery & Barn Dance .Should go well over this slightly longer trip.

VERDICT : GUAVA is 8LB clear on official handicap ratings ,though all her best form has been over 6 furlongs and there has to be doubt about her staying this longer trip .Odds around 6-5 look too short .

LET YOUR LOVE FLOW looks solid in this claimer after winner similar event last time at Wolverhampton  over slightly shorter trip ,that form has been boosted with third horse Barn Dance winning claimer Yesterday at Southwell .9-4 with Power Power is exceptable in what looks two horse race .

Fridays claiming analysis !!!

Two flat cards on Friday at Southwell & twilight card at Wolverhampton .We have two claiming races both for 2 year olds (11.10 Southwell) & (4.40 Wolverhampton) Not great fan of these 2 year old claimers this time of year as field sizes seem to be very small.

11.10 SOUHWELL 1 MILE 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Six runners declared for this 1 mile claiming stakes at Southwell .Another weak looking 2 year old claimer which  looks straight match between Point At Issue & Barn Dance .

POINT AT ISSUE seem to show massive improvement last time when winning 7 furlong claimer here at Southwell drawing away to win by 6 lenghs .Looked well suited by the step up in trip.

Barn Dance has run two solid races in claimers finishing close third last time at Wolverhampton over 9 furlongs .Runs on fibresand for first time .

VERDICT :Strictly on official handicap ratings Barn Dance is one to beat being 14LB clear with rating  77 ,though looks flattered by mark that high.POINT AT ISSUE is just preferred having shown big improvement last time at Southwell ,though has to prove he can stay this longer trip.

NO BET RACE

4.40 WOLVERHAMPTON 6F CLAIMER CLASS 5
Another small field with six runners declared for 6 furlong 2 year old claimer. This looks hard too oppose Faraway who is 11LB clear on official handicap ratings.

FARAWAY won seller over C&D at Woverhampton back in September and then finished fair fourth off mark 72 in handicap  at Wolverhampton also in September .Will be suited by the drop back to 6 furlongs and the drop in grade.

VERDICT : FARAWAY looks to have very little to beat in this very moderate 6 furlong claimer ,though odds around 4-6 makes limited appeal.I'm Still The Man would have possible chance if he could reproduce his maiden win at Sandown in June ,though that's a very big IF has shown next to nothing on his last four starts .

Thursdays claiming stakes analysis !!!

Just the one flat card on Thursday an evening fixture at Kempton park .With one 2-Y-O claiming race on the card.

4.00 KEMPTON 5F 2-Y-0 CLAIMING STAKES CLASS
Disappointing turn out with just five declared runners for this 5 furlong 2 year old claiming stakes and this looks straight match between Mr Knightly & Sonko

Mr Knightly is unbeaten in claimers winning 3 out 3 all over different distances .Won 5 furlong claimer last time on his debut for Jim Boyle at Wolverhampton ,though that was very weak three runner race.

Sonko has won twice this season including winning 5 furlong claimer at Thirsk in August showing plenty speed .Slightly disappointing last time  in 6 furlong handicap at Kempton .Will be suited returning to claiming company over the minimum trip .

VERDICT : Very little to choose between Mr Knightly & Sonko at these weights .Sonko is speedy front runner  who could take some catching in this small field over her best trip and receives 13LB from her main rival .Mr Knightly is better suited over longer trips having won over 7 furlongs ,though rates as an obvious danger having won 3 out 3 in claiming company .

Wednesdays claiming analysis !!!

Tuesday's bet on Boy the Bell finished well beaten third in 6 furlong claiming stakes behind Global Village who won comfortably for inform Brian Ellison .

Boy the Bell was well supported in market going off 7-2 second favourite ,though never really got into the race,no damage done with money back on the race.

Moving on to Wednesday's racing just the one claiming race at Lingfield 12.40

12.40 LINGFIELD 2-Y-0 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Just 6 runners declared for this 2 year old claiming stakes .This looks two horse race with Crystal Gem & The Name Is Don well clear on offical handicap ratings.

Crystal Gem won maiden over C&D at Lingfield in October beating La Romantique in good style by 2.5 Lenghs .Looked slightly disappointing last time when well beaten second behind Snowed In,when short price favourite in 1 mile claimer ,though didn't appear to get home over longer trip .

The Name Is Don caused 40-1 upset when winning 7 furlong maiden at Wolverhampton last time when beating Remix by 1.5 lenghs.Looked suited by forcing tactics that day  .

VERDICT : CRYSTAL GEM is clear pick at the weights and will be suited by drop back to 7 furlongs .Should take plenty of beating though odds around 4-6 make limited appeal .The Name Is Don looks the only possible danger , though faces stiff task trying to concede 8LB .

Tuesdays best bets !!

Monday's bet on Stevie Gee was disappointing finishing well beaten sixth ,though I had bad feeling about the race when horse started to take big drift in market going off 12-1 on betfair .

The race was won by One Way or Another who landed gamble 8-1 into 5-1 on his first start for David Evans . Loss on the day - £100

On Tuesday we have the one claiming stakes on the  fibresand at Southwell.

2.30 SOUTHWELL 6F  0-70 CLASSIFIED CLAIMER  CLASS 6
14 declared runners for 6 furlong classified claimer .On paper this looks quite competitive with 6 course winners ,though very few are in any kind form at present .Soopacal , Boy the Bell and Global Village  look the three to concentrate on.

Soopacal ran excellent second last time over C&D in 6 furlong handicap behind the highly progressive Take Cover who is unbeaten in three starts .Will be suited returning to claiming company.

BOY THE BELL has been in good form this season winning four times for Brian Ellison including winning handicap over C&D back in May .Ran fair fourth at Southwell last time over 7 furlongs  on his first start for Ollie Pears .

Global Village has some decent form on poly track having won 6 races over 7 furlongs, won 7 furlong handicap in October at Wolverhampton .Drops back to 6 furlongs for first time .First run on fibresand.

VERDICT : Soopacal looks sure to go well after running very good second last time over C&D at Southwell ,though he still looks better horse over 5 furlongs having won over the trip 3 times .There remains slight question mark over 6 furlongs having yet to win from 9 attempts.

BOY THE BELL goes well here at Southwell and is best in at the weights on official handicap ratings, the drop back too 6 furlongs  won't be problem having won over the trip 4 times . 5-1 looks decent each-way value.

Mondays best bets !!

Looks like quite busy week with the claiming races .On Monday we have the one claiming race
1.30 at Lingfield .

1.30 LINGFIELD 7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6
Nine runners declared for seven furlong claimer at Lingfield .This looks to concern three runners ,Golden Desert ,Fishforcompliments and Stevie Gee.

Golden Desert would be very difficult to beat if he can repeat his win off mark 90 in class 2 handicap at Newmarket in September for Robert Mills .Though ran nowhere near that level on his first start for Simon Dow when beaten in claimer by City Legend here last time .

Fishforcompliments won 7 furlong handicap  at Musselburgh in September off mark 73 his first win for over 2 years .finished close third in this race last year behind Caprio ,though not easiest horse to win with having won only 3 times from 58 starts .

STEVIE GEE is consistent sort at this level .Won 7 furlong 0-70 classified claimer at Wolverhampton in September beating Brynfa Boy by short head .Finished fair third last time in 7 furlong seller behind Faithful Ruler ,running on well at finish after racing wide.

VERDICT : Golden Desert  is the clear pick on official handicap ratings ,though  there still remains doubt about his ability to run too his current mark and odds around evens look too short.

Fishforcompliments should be thereabouts ,though is very difficult horse to win with .Has still to win on the All Weather from 10 starts.

STEVIE GEE  goes well in this grade and has ran well on his last two starts on the All Weather. At around 5-1  looks fair each-way value against the favourite Golden Desert .

Solid Start !!!

Nice to get good start with claiming races yesterday . OPUS MAXIMUS winning the 1 mile claiming stakes at Wolverhampton at 7-2 for £420 profit on the day.Given excellent ride by Kirsty Milczarek coming from near last to first to win shade cosily .

JONOOB won the other claiming stakes at Lingfield under Ryan Moore ,though  looking the likeliest winner odds around 15-8 in morning didn't look the greatest value ,though was very heavily supported going off 5-4 favourite and was impressive 7 lengh winner. Not surprising was subsequently claimed by Tom Dascombe for £12,000

Moving onto today's racing just the one flat card an evening fixture at Wolverhampton .Unfortunately no claiming race on the 8 race card .No bet on Saturday .

Fridays best bets!!

Two claiming races on Friday (1.45 Lingfield) & (4.30 Wolverhampton)

1.45 LINGFIELD 10F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 :

Just seven runners declared for this 10 furlong claimer at Lingfield .This looks three runner race with Junoob,Beat of The Blues & Dr Livingstone well clear on offical handicap ratings .

JUNOOB formerly trained by John Dunlop won on his first start for Amy Weather at Kempton in 12 furlong claimer, did well to win that day in steadily run race, coming from off the pace to win with bit in hand at finish

Beat of the Blues has 6LB pull in the weights with Junoob for 0.75 lengh beating at Kempton ,though seemed to have the run of the race that day and may struggle to reverse form even with 6lb pull

Dr Livingstone came back to form last time winning in good style in four runner, 12 furlong claimer at Kempton beating Scampadale by 2.5 lenghs in race run at crawl (15 seconds slower than standard)

VERDICT : JUNOOB won nicely last time and can confirm the form with Beat of the Blues .Dr Livingstone has to be respected and looks the main danger .Looking at the prices JUNOOB looks most likely winner though at around 15-8 represents  little value .

( NO BET RACE )

4.30 WOLVERHAMPTON 9F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6

Open looking 0-70 classified claimer with nine course winners .Opus Maximus ,Ajdaad and Spinning Ridge look the three to concentrate on.

OPUS MAXIMUS has been great form this year winning four times.(Last three wins in claimers) Finished  good second yesterday over C&D  in class 5 handicap behind the well treated Greyfriarschorista .Will be suited returning to claiming company.

Ajdaad goes well here at Wolverhampton dual C&D winner this season winning handicap in November off mark 65 .Looked unlucky last time when badly hampered in handicap behind Pipers Piping .

Spinning Ridge dual course winner been in good form this year winning four times.Finished close second last time behind Winged Valkirie over C&D off mark 68 .Drops into claiming company for first time.

VERDICT : OPUS MAXIMUS ran well here yesterday in handicap off mark 70 on his first start for Conor Dore .Has decent record in claiming races this year winning 3 from 8 and is best in at the  weights. 3-1 looks fair value . Both Ajaad and Spinning Ridge look the main two dangers having been in good form this season .
