Bad Bad Bad run continues !!!

Another disappointing result on Wednesday with Brockwell running absolute stinker in 1 mile maiden stakes at Musselburgh finishing well beaten 6TH beaten over eight lenghs behind Choisan .

Brockwell looked open to plenty improvement stepping up in trip, though never really traveled in race and was soon beaten in straight, very disappointing and loss £256.00.That makes it 11 losers in row and profits are starting to dwindle away now down to £773.00 for the year .

Wednesdays best bets!!

Three flat cards on Wednesday at Musselburgh ,Nottingham and evening fixture at Kempton.Going concentrate on the 1 mile maiden at Musselburgh which looks quite interesting .

1 MILE 2-Y-0 MAIDEN STAKES CLASS 4 MUSSELBURGH 3.15
BROCKWELL :Promising fourth on debut in 7 furlong maiden at York ,finishing strongly after getting outpaced behind Richard Fahey trained Mickdaam.Looks open to plenty improvement over this longer trip being son of Singspiel .

VERDICT :Interesting 2-Y-0 maiden with three main contenders Choisan ,Brockwell & Golden Halo

Choisan is very consistent finishing second five times this season and finished 3.5 lenghs in front of Brockwell at York ,though at the prices looks bit short in market for horse still maiden after nine starts .

The Irish trained Golden Halo finished close second last time in 7 furlong maiden at Roscommon on soft ground behind the A O 'Brien trained Foot Soldier .Paul Hanagan looks eye catching Jockey booking for small stable.

BROCKWELL showed plenty promise on his racecourse debut at York finishing very strongly in closing stages to finish fourth, in what looked fair maiden. Will be suited by this step up to 1 mile and 7-2 looks decent value in what looks three runner race.

Mondays best bets !!

Three average end of season flat cards on Monday at Leicester , Redcar and Southwell .Going concentrate on the 7 furlong claiming stakes at 4.00 Leicester.

7F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 LEICESTER 4.00
COOTEHILL LASS :Three time course winner at Leicester this season winning three sellers over 6&7 furlongs on fast ground .Probably ran her best race of the season when finishing close second over C&D off mark 70 in class 5 handicap back in Septemer  .Slightly disappointing last time in 7 furlong claimer  at Chepstow ,though looked unsuited by the soft ground .Should go well with ideal conditions.

VERDICT :Low grade claiming stakes with two main contenders Boy The Bell & Cootehill Lass.

Boy The Bell has been good form this season winning four times and finished second on his last two starts. Looks well treated at weights being rated 73 and looks the obvious danger.

COOTEHILL LASS looks to have everything in her favour here 7 furlongs at Leicester on Fast ground. All here best form has been here at Leicester and looks fair value at 7-2 to beat main rival Boy The bell

COOTEHILL LASS 4.00 LEICESTER (SECOND SP 11-4 )

Weekly results / round up !!

Another very poor week with no winners from three bets and loss £587.00 and profits are now down to £1068 for the year .All three bets ran poorly with both Ajdaad and Times up finishing unplaced.

The last month has been very disappointing with no winning bet since Alanza won the Sceptre stakes at Doncaster on  September 8th.Making it nine losers in row ,these losing runs do happen at some point during the season, though its major concern how badly the bets are performing at moment .

Will continue to the end of the flat season on November 5th then reassess whats gone wrong this year.

THE RESULTS :

ON THE WEEK :
3 BETS ) 0 WINNERS ) LOSS £587.00

Fridays best bets!!

Three flat cards on Friday at Haydock ,Redcar ,and evening card at Wolverhampton .Both Haydock & Redcar look tricky cards with ground conditions very testing.

Going concentrate on Wolverhampton's evening card, the 8 furlong selling stakes at 7.20 looks quite interesting race with very few contenders.

1 MILE 141 YDS SELLING STAKES WOLVERHAMPTON 7.20
AJDAAD : Course Distance winner at Wolverhampton last time winning an above average selling stakes when  beating Whispering Spirit by 3/4 lengh coming from well off the pace to win comfortably .Has 6LB penalty here though this looks weaker race and should go well .

VERDICT : Weak looking selling stakes with just three main contenders .Both Alhaban & Saharia have shown bits and pieces of form this season over shorter distances .

Saharia would be big danger if staying this longer trip ,though all his best form has been over 7 furlongs and looks short in market for horse unproven over this trip.

Alhaban looks well in at the weights having finished third in class 3 handicap off mark 87 last January ,though has shown very little on his last seven starts in good handicaps .Drops into selling company for first time ,though has to prove he can stay this extended mile.

AJDAAD won well here last time in seller over C&D and has lot less to prove than his main two rivals who  are both unproven over this trip .10-3 looks very fair price in  weak looking selling stakes.

Ascot British Champions Day

With bookmakers having already priced up the five championship races at Ascot on Saturday and with most firms going non runner no bet and best price guarantee. It looks good time to place the first Ascot bet.

The first race on the card the 2 mile Long distance cup looks interesting race.

2 MILES LONG DISTANCE CUP G3 ASCOT 1.50 SATURDAY
TIMES UP : Improving 5 year old ,won three times this season including two listed races .Looked to relish the step up in trip last time at Newmarket when breaking 2 mile course record, beating Chilberta King in good style.

VERDICT : Decent looking group 3 contest with just three main contenders .Opinion Poll , Times Up and Fame and Glory .

Opinion Poll has been model of consistency this season winning twice in Goodwood Cup and Lonsdale Cup and finishing second twice in Ascot Gold cup and last time in Doncaster Cup .Looks sure to run well again .

Fame and Glory was impressive winner of Ascot Gold cup back in June beating Opinion Poll by 3 lenghs ,though has looked very disappointing since having been beaten in Irish St leger trial at odds 1/3 and then running stinker in Irish St Leger behind Duncan on soft ground .After two poor runs looks no value at around 11-4.

TIMES UP looked impressive last time at Newmarket in listed race and looks open to plenty more improvement over this 2 mile trip .Will be suited by fast ground and at 7-2 looks very fair value  to get the better of likely favourite Opinion Poll .

TIMES UP 1.50 ASCOT SATURDAY

Returning after short break !!!

After some poor results at the end of September decided to take few days off and get the negative thought's  out of the system .

After promising start to the year with three winning months in a row and profit of £1396 at the end of March, things haven't gone as expected over past six months with only further £259 profit. The win strike rate has been below standard this year with only 23% (17 wins from 74 bets)  which shows why profits are down this year. Hopefully we can improve the profit over the final 10 weeks of the year .

Moving on too Tuesday's racing we have two flat cards at Leicester & Newcastle both meetings look average end of the season cards with Leicester looking slightly better card.Going concentrate on the 1 mile 2 year old maiden stakes at 4.40

1 MILE 2-Y-0 MAIDEN STAKES CLASS 4 LEICESTER 4.40
ZAEEM : Promising third on debut behind Tidy Affair  in what looked decent 7 furlong maiden at Epsom. That form has been boosted with forth (Money Never Sleeps) and fifth horse (Famous Poet) both winning maidens next time .Looks open to plenty improvement this longer trip.

VERDICT : Interesting 2-Y-0 maiden stakes with three main contenders, Went The Day Well ,Zaeem and Mysterious Man

Went The Day Well, finished promising second on debut in 1 mile maiden at Haydock staying on strongly at finish behind Mazydd .Should improve though this looks stronger maiden .

Mysterious Man finished fair fourth in decent looking conditions race at Newbury behind Cavaleiro
staying on at finish .Stables 2-Y-0  runners seem to improve a lot  for there debut and rates as main danger.

ZAEEM'S third in maiden at Epsom could hardly worked out any better with winner finishing second in handicap next time off mark 81 and fourth and fifth both winning easily in maidens next time. 7-2 looks decent value in what looks three runner race .

ZAEEM 4.40 LEICESTER (THIRD SP 9-2 )

Weekly / Monthly review !!

Very disappointing end to September after such bright start at the beginning of the month. In fact after Alanza won on September 7TH the profit was up to £983 for the month.

After that point not great deal went right with last 6 bets all getting beat with two seconds ,two thirds and two unplaced. What looked like being good month ended with £104.00 loss .Not total disaster though very disappointing giving back nearly grand in just over three weeks.Similar pattern happened last month with excellent start and poor finish.Hopefully in October there will be bit more consistency.
