Summary of the weeks bets

Disappointing end to the month with Lang Shining running very flat race finishing well beaten 5TH ,behind Dream of Fortune who he had previously beaten by 9 lenghs.Looks like Lang Shining may of had one race too many, his 13TH race since June, and clearly not running his race today. LOSS -£100 / 1.00PT

On the week its been losing week -£105 / 1.05 PTS with just one winner from 5 bets, not great week with three of the bets not hitting the board ,the only consolation being the biggest bet was winning bet on Aspectoflove.

Overall October has been losing month, though not a disaster with just £100 / 1PT LOSS,it has been very inconsistent month.

(20 BETS ) (6 WINNERS) (2 SECONDS) (2 THIRDS) (10 UNPLACED) that's 10 bets failing too hit the board, 50 % which is disappointing.

Compare that  to September
(16 BETS) (7 WINNERS) (6 SECONDS) (2 THIRDS)
that's 15 out 16 hitting the board ,over 94% which is massive difference.

THE RESULTS :

ON THE WEEK
5 BETS ) 1 WINNER) LOSS £105 / 1.05 PTS)

ON THE MONTH
20 BETS) 6 WINNERS) LOSS £100 / 1.00 PTS

Sundays best bets

SECRECY could only finish disappointing 4TH in listed Marshall stakes ,behind his seemingly unfancied stablemate Kingsfort a 10-1 shot ,SECRECY was very well supported in market 11-4 into 15-8 ,though in the race itself was well of pace in the early stages, and never really picked up, finishing well beaten 4TH. Loss -£150 / 1.50 PTS

Sunday we have just the one flat card on poly track at Lingfield ,though there looks interesting 1 mile 2f claimer at 2.15

1 MILE 2F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 LINGFIELD 2.15

LANG SHINING : Excellent record in claimers this season winning 6 times since June.Won over C/D at Lingfield last month beating fair sort for this grade Orchard Supreme by 1.25 lenghs.Goes well for Sophie Doyle and should go well.

VERDICT :LANG SHINING & AHLAWY look very closely matched at weights. AHLAWY won class 4 handicap last time at Wolverhampton, though not the most consistent of performers and not  the greatest record in claimers 1 win from 6 starts.C/D winner LANG SHINING  is more reliable sort and has such good record in claimers 6 wins from 9 starts. At the prices LANG SHINING looks the better value bet at around 7-2 mark.

LANG SHINING 2.15 LINGFIELD

Slightly shorter odds than I was expecting, though still worth bet at 3-1

Saturdays best bets

Saturday we have just the two flat cards ,Newmarket & Wolverhampton,Newmarket stage there final fixture of the season, with quite decent card featuring three listed races.

1 MILE BEN MARSHALL LISTED STAKES CLASS 1 NEWMARKET 2.35

SECRECY : Very consistent 4-Y-0 ,never been out of first three in 10 starts ,won twice this season in condition races at Kempton & Salisbury ,though ran his best race when finishing 2ND in listed race at Haydock behind the highly regarded CITYSCAPE who boosted that form in no uncertain terms by winning next time in G3 contest at Newmarket by 7 lenghs.C/D winner at Newmarket & looks sure to go well.

VERDICT : Fascinating listed contest S.Bin Suroor runs three in the race and Frankie Dettori has choosen to ride ALEXANDROS who has visor on for first time, though has looked bit disappointing this season. Stablemate SECRECY looks to have plenty in his favour here,in top form, C/D winner & suited by easy ground, looks solid bet at around 11-4 mark.

Dettori's day !!

ASPECTOFLOVE just scraped home in 1 mile fillies listed race at Lingfield just getting the better of Mosqueras Romance by short head in very tight finish, landing quite tidy gamble 9-4 into11-10 and nice profit on the day    + £281 / 2.81 PTS

It turned out another good day for Frankie Dettori at Lingfield, landing quick fire treble including the two big listed races.

Friday we have just the two flat cards at Newmarket & Wolverhampton, nothing really appeals at either these two cards. No bets on Friday .

Thursdays best bets

FACE VALUE could only manage 5TH in 1 mile maiden stakes at Kempton on wed evening, after missing the break was always behind, and just had too much ground to make up and could only finish never nearer 5TH ,slightly disappointing run all the same LOSS -£100 / 1.00PT.

On to Thursday racing, we have two flat cards with quite decent card at Lingfield, featuring two good listed races. We have one bet in 1 mile fillies listed stakes at 3.10

1 MILE FILLIES LISTED STAKES CLASS 1 LINGFIELD 3.10

ASPECTOFLOVE :Former John Oxx trained filly in Ireland , right back to her best for Godolphin on her last two starts winning listed handicap at Ascot and finishing good 2ND in G3 race in Italy at San Siro ,unbeaten on poly track 2 from 2 ,should go well for Frankie Dettori.

VERDICT :The in form  ASPECTOFLOVE looks to have plenty in her favour here, proven winner in listed company and unbeaten on poly track 9-4 looks decent value.LADY DARSHAAN would be possible danger if she could repeat her last season's G1 filly's mile second ,though she has looked very disappointing when beaten favourite on her last two starts in listed company.

Wednesdays best bets

Three average flat cards on Wednesday ,Musselburgh , Nottingham and Kempton Park ,going to concentrate on    Kempton's evening card, where there looks quite interesting 1 mile 2-Y-0  maiden stakes .

1 MILE 2-Y-0 MAIDEN STAKES CLASS 5 KEMPTON 6.40

FACE VALUE : Promising 4TH last time in fair 7 furlong maiden here at Kempton behind Sagramor ,finishing strongly from well off the pace ,looks open to plenty improvement after only two starts, the extra furlong looks sure to suit.

VERDICT : TWICE BITTEN with Richard Hughes back aboard, looks big danger after only getting beat short head last time at Kempton but looks plenty short enough at around 4-5. At the prices FACE VALUE looks decent value at around 4-1 mark and looks open to plenty improvement over this extra furlong.

A Day at the Races

DR WINTRINGHAM could only manage second on Monday ,she never really picked up on the very testing ground, and was beaten fair and square by Just Five who was very easy winner LOSS - £34.00 / 0.34 PTS.

On Tuesday I will be attending my local track Yarmouth,  for there last day of the season ,though to be honest the 8 race card looks very moderate, and I will not be having any serious bets on Tuesday ,though with private box and free bar laid on you can't really complain.lol

Mondays best bets

Three flat cards on Monday .Kempton,Southwell and Leicester, going concentrate on the 7 furlong claiming stakes Leicester 4.00

7 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5 LEICESTER 4.00

DR WINTRINGHAM : Won back to back handicaps at Chepstow & Warwick in early June(winning by 6 lenghs at Warwick) ,also finished decent 2ND at Bath at the end July ,slightly disappointing on her last two starts, though they were in fairly decent handicaps, takes drop in class here into claiming company and Richard Hughes looks very interesting booking for this small stable.

VERDICT:DR WINTRINGHAM looks well treated in this claimer( best in at weights)Richard Hughes  looks significant booking, having won on the horse last year at Chepstow, has to prove she can handle heavy ground ,though did finish 2ND at Lingfield on soft ground last season.DARK MOMENT could be possible danger after coming back to form last time at Leicester, and had three of today's rivals behind, will be suited by this testing ground.

Summary of weeks bets !!

Excellent day on Saturday with both CASAMENTO & TALENTI both winning at 3-1 & 4-1 for £415 profit.CASMENTO was heavily supported in market 3-1 into 2-1 in feature race Racing post trophy, and landed some big bets in good style, looks very decent prospect for next season.

The second bet was TALENTI in 1 mile 4 furlong claiming stakes at Kempton's evening card and was given great ride by Dane O' Neil .TALENTI never looked like winning this race, after getting badly outpaced with 4 furlongs to run ,though is such battler and stays really well, and started to pick up with 2 furlongs to run and passed 5 horses inside final furlong  and got up right on line to win by short head.

Overall its been very good week with 5 BETS 3 WINNERS 1 SECOND 1 FORTH + £500 PROFIT / 5.00 PTS.only slight disappointment recently, has been the staking with most of the bigger bets losing and smaller bets winning ,very annoying and will have to review the situation if this continues.

Saturdays best bets

Good to come back with winner on Friday evening with SILVER OCEAN landing nice gamble 7-2 into 9-4 for in form Ralph Beckett stable.£315 / 3.15 PTS PROFIT on the day.

Saturday we have some top quality racing at  Doncaster & Newbury with the G1 Racing Post trophy for 2 year olds at Doncaster the feature race.Kempton park's evening card is low on quality, though they do stage quite interesting claiming race.

1 MILE G1  RACING POST TROPHY DONCASTER 2.55

CASAMENTO :High class 2-Y-0 ,ran excellent 2ND in the G1 National stakes at Curragh in early September only beaten head by the unbeaten & highly regarded PATHFORK ,followed that with easy win in 1 mile G2 Beresford stakes at Curragh.Frankie Dettori takes the ride for first time.

VERDICT: CASAMENTO looks the clear form choice here, has proven form over 1 mile and in G1 company. 3-1 looks decent value .The unbeaten DUNBOYNE EXPRESS looks the main danger after winning G3 contest at Curragh by 8 lenghs .though will need  improve to take this G1 contest.

1 MILE 4F CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 KEMPTON 7.15

TALENTI: Fair hurdler, done well back on the flat this season -35131 ,won claimer last time at Wolverhampton over 1 mile 4F staying on strongly to get up close home.Consistent type and looks fairly well treated at these weights.Goes well for Dane O' Neil who is 2 from 3.

VERDICT :TALENTI should go well here, in good  form and very consistent in these type races. Most of the opposition look very unreliable types who cannot be trusted.POTENTIALE
looks possible danger after winning handicap at Epsom last month and is course winner at Kempton.

Fridays best bets

Three flat cards on Friday,Ayr, Doncaster,Wolverhampton ,Doncaster stage best card in terms of quality ,though the field sizes are massive, and look far to competitive to even consider a bet.

Nothing really appeals at Ayr that leaves us with Wolverhampton's evening card an there does look quite interesting 2-Y-0. 6 furlong maiden race.

6F 2-Y-0 MAIDEN STAKES CLASS 5 WOLVERHAMPTON 6.15

SILVER OCEAN :Two decent placed efforts in maidens at Lingfield & Kempton ,only just beaten in three way photo last time at Lingfield behind Look who's Kool & Pearl ice ,that looks solid form with Pearl Ice going on to win maiden next time at kempton by 4.5 lenghs. The return to 6 furlongs will suit better after getting little outpaced over 5 furlongs last time.

VERDICT:This looks three horse contest between SILVER OCEAN .CRIMSON CLOUD,KHALEEJI all three running promising races last time, though SILVER OCEAN looks to have the more solid form and proven on poly track, and the return to 6 furlongs suit.

Blank on Thursday

Very puzzling race from INDIAN VALLEY last night at Kempton , after being held up in early stages, she made ground up very quickly and came with what looked perfectly timed run ,when leading over 1 furlong out  ,though she seem to find very little inside final furlong and faded badly to finish 4TH .

Not sure what happened there as she normally see's out her races really well ,though not on this occasion disappointing to say the least. LOSS -£200 /2.00 PTS.

Thursday we have two flat cards Brighton and Kempton both cards look very poor and no bets on blank Thursday.

Wednesdays best bets

Slightly disappointing run from Moonsail on Tuesday finishing well beaten second behind the heavily gambled favourite Mohedian Lady, she pulled far too hard in early stages and never really settled in race, though she did battle on well for second place, quite big drifter on course going off 7-2. Loss - £30.00 / 0.30 PTS on the day.

Just two flat cards on Wednesday Ffos Las & Kempton park ,and just one race of interest the 1 MILE claimer 7.20 at  Kempton.park.

INDIAN VALLEY :Improving filly ,with good record in claiming company winning 2 from 3 ,won claimers at Yarmouth and Pontefract both over 1 mile on soft ground, though just as effective on poly track , looks well in at these weights & should go well.

VERDICT: INDIAN VALLEY is in form filly who looks to have plenty in her favour here, won two claimers ,handles poly track and running over her best trip.SABATINI looks the main danger ,C/D winner with also good record in claimers 4 wins from 7 starts, though was disappointing in claimer last time at Wolverhampton finishing well beaten 5TH.

Tuesday's best bets

Just the two flat cards to work with on Tuesday ,my local track Yarmouth and Lingfield ,both cards are very low on quality ,though as normal Yarmouth do stage a couple decent looking maiden races.

MOONSAIL : Beautifully breed daughter of Kazzia (Guineas and Oaks winner) ,made promising debut last month at Haydock over 1 Mile on soft ground, finishing 2ND running on well at finish beaten 2.25 lenghs by John Gosden filly Umseyat ,looks open to plenty of improvement on her second start.

VERDICT :Moheian Lady has ran two decent races at Newmarket and looks the big danger, though MOONSAIL was given very easy introduction at Haydock and was really staying on well towards the finish and looks open to plenty of improvement on her second start and can improve past her main rival.

Summary of the weeks bets

Disappointing end to week with LATIN LOVER running very disappointing race at Naas after leading till 2 furlongs out ,she weakened very quickly and could only finish 9TH. Not sure what happened though she clearly didn't run her race ,she had beaten EMULOUS two starts ago, this time she was beaten over 12 lenghs by that rival.

Its been losing week though not to much damage done.Overall its been quite struggle in October only 2 winners from 10 bets.

After having very good month in September (£2290 PROFIT, 7 WINNERS FROM 16 BETS),October has been bit disappointing with loss of  £495 on the month so far.

Sundays best bets

Saturdays intended  bet BUSHWHACKER never reached 5-2 after opening very short odds in morning at 2-1 then shortened further with second favourite Mottley Crewe being non runner, going off very short odds on favourite.

It turned out blessing in disguise not having bet ,in the race itself BUSHWHACKER could only manage third beaten 1/2 lengh after looking sure to win going inside final furlong ,though seemed too find very little and looks one to avoid in future.

On too Sundays racing no interest in GB ,though there looks very interesting listed race in Ireland at Naas

1 MILE LISTED STAKES (FILLIES) NAAS 4.45

LATIN LOVE :Excellent 2ND last time in G2 race at Woodbine in Canada finishing 1.75 lenghs behind the useful Miss keller.Won listed contest over 1 mile 1f back in July at Curragh beating Emulous by 1.25 lenghs.Should go well back in listed company.

VERDICT: LATIN LOVE proven winner in this grade winning 2 listed races, and now 11LB better of with Emulous, should go close & J. Murtagh takes the ride. Emulous still rates as main danger after showing improved form last time at Tipperary winning G3 over 7.5 furlongs contest in good style.

BUSHWHACKER : Ex - Hong Kong performer ,finished second three times from four starts in UK,ran fair second last time at Wolverhampton over C/D in maiden race, only beaten neck behind the Paul Cole trained Doc Hay.Should go well in this weak maiden race.

VERDICT :Aalsmeer & Mottley Crewe both have possible chances in weak race, though BUSHWHACKER looks the one too beat, after running three solid races this season, including good second over C/D last time. Looking for 11-4 or bigger.

Very small profit (£5.00 / 0.05 PTS ) on Tuesday with DANADANA finishing third at 11-2 ,behind impressive 3.5 lengh winner MARDEN who landed quite big gamble 7-4 early into 5-6,and looks very decent prospect for next season.

On too Wednesdays racing just the two flat cards at Lingfield and evening card at Kempton park. Both on the poly track, and we have the one bet in 6 furlong 2-Y-0 claiming stakes at Kempton Park.

DANGER :FIFTH AVE looks the main danger ,after running good second last time in class 3 handicap at Windsor ,and won over C/D in August, though has to reverse C/D form with BILKO PAK on the same terms.

Tuesday's best bets

Only the one flat card on Tuesday, after Newcastle abandoned there meeting yesterday, due to false patches of ground. That leaves us with Leicester ,though to be fair not bad card for Tuesday, and we have one bet in 7 furlong 2-Y-0 maiden.

7 FURLONG 2-Y-0 MAIDEN CLASS 4 LEICESTER 3.10

DANADANA : Promising 5TH on debut  in fair 7 furlong maiden at Wolverhampton ,beaten just under 3 Lenghs behind Gentleman is Back ,that form has been boosted by 2ND & 4TH (FLAG OFFICER & IRONS ON FIRE ) both winning maidens next time.Looks open to plenty improvement and should be suited by this stiffer track, trainer Luca Cumani stable in fine form.

DANGER : MARDEN looks big danger after finishing 4TH in decent 7 furlong maiden at Newmarket behind SEATTLE DRIVE ,that looks decent form with 2ND ,4TH & 5TH from that race winning maiden races since.

VERDICT : DANADANA & MARDEN look the two concentrate on here, both ran very promising debut's and look open to plenty of improvement on there second start ,slight preference for DANADANA who looks the better value at around 9-2 mark.

Summary of the weeks bets

Bit of slow week with only three bets ,one winner 3-1,and just very small profit + £40.00 / 0.40PTS .

The first bet was on the Tuesday  at Southwell in 1 mile 4 furlong maiden stakes.HEROSTATUS £75 each/way was the bet with Stan James at 11-4 ,was quite well supported in market going off the 2-1 fav ,in the race itself HEROSTATUS raced in third though never looked to be travelling  well and was beaten 3 furlongs out finishing well beaten 5TH.

 LOSS of - £150 /1.50 PTS

Second bet was on the Thursday at Wolverhampton's evening card in 1 mile 4 furlong claiming stakes.TALENTI £50 each /way at 3-1 with bet365,going off 11-4 second fav ,TALENTI seemed in good position in early part of race ,tracking the leaders in third ,though got badly outpaced with over 3 furlongs to go and looked in trouble turning into straight ,though this horse has always been strong stayer over this trip, and really picked up inside final furlong and caught 2 leaders near the line to win by 1/2 lengh.

PROFIT + £180 / 1.80 PTS

Final bet of week was on Friday at Musselburgh in 5 furlong claiming stakes.NORTHERN BOLT £50 each /way at 6-1 with Skybet ,NORTHERN BOLT was very slowly away, and was still second last at half way  and looked to have very little chance though stayed on really well inside final furlong and finished never nearer third.

Fridays best bets

Nice to come back with winner on Thursday  with TALENTI winning at 3-1 for (£180/ 1.80 PTS PROFIT)

Very strange betting patterns in the race Dunaskin was subject to quite big gamble 12-1 into 4-1 ,which was very puzzling as he appeared to have very little chance at these weights.

TALENTI was solid in the market all day at 3-1,that was until about 15 minutes before the race when he started too drift touching as big as 6-1 on betfair ,then all of sudden was backed heavily from 6-1 into 11-4 just before the off.

In the race itself  Dunaskin set very strong pace and was soon well clear though was in trouble 2 furlongs out and soon beaten .TALENTI had tracked the leaders in third, till getting outpaced 3 furlongs out and looked in real trouble with 2 furlongs to go ,though this horse really stays well, and picked up inside final furlong, and come with storming run on outside and got up near the line to win by neck ,very exciting race, especially when you have backed the winner.

On too Fridays racing we have three flat cards York , Musselburgh & Wolverhampton ,we go too Scotland for days only bet at Musselburgh for 5 Furlong claiming stakes.

5 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 5 MUSSELBURGH 4.40

NORTHERN BOLT :Consistent sort ,with good record in claimers 121,won 5f claimer two starts ago at Newcastle on heavy ground beating Captain Royale by 1.5 lenghs ,that form has since been boosted with Captain Royale winning handicap by 5 lenghs at Ayr.Ran fair  6th of 16 last time in handicap at Redcar only beaten 3 lenghs .Should go well back into class 6 claimer.

DANGER:SONNY RED looks big danger if reproducing his 2ND of 25 off mark 89 in AYR Silver cup in class 2 handicap, and takes massive drop in class here into class 6 claimer for first time, though is very inconsistent and never seems to run two races the same, and was very disappointing last time at Haydock in class 2 handicap finishing 14th of 16.

VERDICT :.SONNY RED has to be big danger in this grade, though looks plenty short enough at around 6-4 for horse so inconsistent. At the prices NORTHERN BOLT looks the value each/way bet with such good record in claiming races.Any prices around 6-1 mark would be good value

1 MILE 4 FURLONG CLAIMING STAKES CLASS 6 WOLVERHAMPTON 8.10

TALENTI;Won fair seller over extended 1 mile 3 furlongs at Windsor  in August beating Timocracy by 2.5 lenghs ,that looks quite decent form at this level,(Timocracy having won his previous 6 races).Ran good third last time at Ascot in 1 mile 4 furlong class 4 handicap of mark of 70,should go well dropping back into class 6 company.

DANGER:PAKTOLOS looks the big danger,on BHA handicap figures has quite bit in hand of this field rated 13lb clear ,ran good second in claimer at York in July ,though was very disappointing at Chester last time finishing 12th of 13, beaten 25 lenghs.

VERDICT :Strictly on the figures PAKTOLOS is the one to beat here ,though hasn't really shown much since winning handicap here back in January, and was very disappointing last time at Chester. TALENTI looks a more consistent type, and ran well on his last two starts.3-1 looks fair value.

Wet Wet Wednesday

Just the two flat cards to work with on Wednesday, Nottingham & evening card at Kempton, and with more  heavy rain forecast the conditions at Nottingham will be very testing.

Kempton's card on poly track looks slightly better quality though nothing really appeals there and no bets on Wednesday.

Shocking run !!

Very disappointing run from HEROSTATUS (well beaten 5TH)after being very well supported 11-4 into 2-1 favourite ,difficult to understand why he ran so badly.

On paper there was very little between HEROSTATUS & HONEST STRIKE only neck separated them last time they met, today a completely different story more than 28 lenghs !!

Its Back too the drawing board as they say, very disappointing start too October with four losing bets in row and loss of £150 / 1.50 PTS on the day.

Tuesday's best bets

Three flat cards on Tuesday Catterick ,Leicester & Southwell ,with conditions very testing on the turf we have no interest at Catterick or Leicester today, though there look's quite interesting maiden race on the fibre sand at Southwell

1 MILE 4F MAIDEN STAKES CLASS 5 SOUTHWELL 3.50
HEROSTATUS :Steadily improving since stepping up in trip ,showed improved form last time at Wolverhampton when finishing 1.5 lengh second behind Palio Square over 1 mile 4 furlongs.with Honest Strike back in third.Looks open too improvement at this trip.

DANGER; HONEST STRIKE looks the main danger after also showing improved form time at Wolverhampton  only neck behind HEROSTATUS ,should go well for in form Henry Cecil

VERDICT ; HEROSTATUS & HONEST STRIKE are closely matched on Wolverhampton form only neck separated them that day, though slightly surprising  HEROSTATUS is not favourite here, and looks fair value at around 11-4, trainer Mark Johnston has excellent record at Southwell

Monday its more rain!!

The weather continues to play havoc with the racing ,its seems we have had non stop rain for days ,all three courses Warwick,Windsor & Pontefract face early morning inspections ,with more rain forecast the ground is going too be like bog.Just not worth getting involved when conditions get this bad.

October looks like being very difficult month,if this rain continues to fall day after day. When the conditions get this bad its very difficult to find any decent value bets ,just got stay very disciplined and wait for right opportunities too come along.

Summary of the weeks bets

September finished up very good month with just (16 BETS (7 WINNERS( PROFIT £2290/ 22.90PTS)

This week has been very disappointing 4 BETS 0 WINNERS 1 SECOND 3 UNPLACED LOSS £488 / 4.88  It looks no coincidence this was first losing week for five weeks, there's been so much rain about this week  making it very difficult to find decent bets and the bets have certainly suffered.

The first bet of week was on Tuesday at Brighton in 7 furlong claimer on DINGAAN £75 Each / way at 5-2 with Stan James .DINGAAN was always well placed and travelling well with 2 furlongs to run ,though leading briefly inside final furlong just couldn't hold on beaten neck in 2ND loss of £38.00 / 0.38

The second & third bets were on Friday at Newmarket .ALEXANDROS in 1 mile group 3 contest £50 each / way at 9-2 , was very disappointing on ground that should suited and folded tamely to finish well beaten 5TH behind impressive 7 lengh winner CITYSCAPE.The second bet was in group one middle park over 6 furlongs on TEMPLE MEADS the bet was £50 each/way ,though never got any run for my money, the saddle slipped shortly after the start and had be eased  down finishing last of 8 ,very unfortunate and with the each/ way double loss of £250 / 2.50 pts on the day and very poor day.

Final bet of week was in France in Group one Prix Moulin ,with the ground riding very soft the wonder mare GOLDIKOVA looked worth taking on at short price, and there looked couple value each /way bets in shape of REGAL PARADE & SIYOUNI £50 each/way on both at 14-1 & 7-1.In the race itself, REGAL PARADE was in perfect spot just in behind the French mare GOLDIKOVA and looked promising when taking the lead with over 2 furlongs to run though was headed inside final furlong by GOLDIKOVA and faded to come 4TH probably went for home to early ,GOLDIKOVA went on to win, amazing her 11th group one victory. Loss of £200 / 2.00 pts

THE RESULTS :

ON THE WEEK
4 BETS ) 0 WINNERS ) LOSS £488.00 / 4.88 PTS

ON THE MONTH (SEPTEMBER)
16 BETS)7 WINNERS)PROFIT £2290 / 22.90 PTS

OVERALL AFTER 34 WEEKS
272 BETS) 78 WINNERS) PROFIT 48.42

Sunday is Arc day !!

No flat cards in Britain on Sunday ,though we have fantastic days racing at Longchamp in France,we have no less than seven group one races ,including the biggest race in Europe, THE PRIX DE L 'ARC DE TRIOMPHE worth over £2 million pounds

This years race looks wide open with 20 runners ,BEHKBAD & PLANTEUR look the main two challengers for French .The Irish challenge is headed by A.O ' BRIEN pair FAME AND GLORY & CAPE BLANCO.The two main English challengers are headed by Epsom derby winner WORKFORCE and three time runner up in the race YOUMZAIN.

With ground riding very soft this should favour the French trained horses, and at the prices PLANTEUR who has never finished out of first two ,maybe the each / way value at around 7-1 .

The most interesting race on the card for me is the 7 furlong group one Prix de la Foret

7F PRIX DE LA FORET GROUP ONE LONGCHAMP 2.20

REGAL PARADE :Two time group one winner ,who has excellent record on soft ground ,won group one  Prix Maurice de Gheest back in August at Deauville ,will be suited to the return 7 furlongs & this very soft ground.

SIYOUNI :Should be well suited dropping back to 7 furlongs for first time this season ,won group one Grand Criterium last season over 7 furlongs, finished good third in Prix Moulin last time over 1 MILE at Longchamp.

VERDICT : Fascinating contest ,with French wonder mare GOLDIKOVA trying to win her 11TH group one race,  likely to be quite short price favourite here, though she has always struggled on very soft ground  ,and she looks worth taking on with both REGAL PARADE & SIYOUNI who will both be decent prices.

Taking rain check on Saturday

Disappointing start to the month, the first bet ALEXANDROS had no excuses was there with every chance with 3 furlongs to go,but folded tamely and could only finish well beaten 5TH behind impressive 7 lengh winner  CITYSCAPE .

The second bet TEMPLE MEADS never had any chance ,the saddle slipped at very early stage and jockey just had to ease him down and finished last of eight.Very unfortunate as never got any run for our money ,though very doubtful he would beat impressive 9 lengh winner Dream Ahead.Loss of  -£250 / 2.50 pts

Saturday's racing looks very difficult with so much rain falling on Friday, making it very difficult to find any decent betting opportunities, Newmarket looks impossible with huge fields on very soft ground. So will be taking rain check on Saturday.

Fridays best bets

Start of another new month with an excellent days racing at Newmarket, with four group races including group one Cheveley park stakes & group one Middle park stakes both for 2 year olds.

Plenty more rain forecast on Friday at Newmarket, and the ground is going to be very testing and we need to be looking for proven soft ground performers.

The Nayef Joel stakes, group three over 1 mile & Middle park stakes, group one over 6 furlongs both look very interesting races .

1 MILE GROUP 3 NAYEF JOEL STAKES NEWMARKET 1.55

ALEXANDROS :Won group three contest at Meydan in February beating Crowded house by 3.5 lenghs, also ran very good second at Epsom in June only beaten neck by Bushman in decent group 3 contest had likely favourite PENITENT back in 7TH.Well suited too soft ground and has excellent record in Group three company.

DANGER:CITYSCAPE Highly regarded 2-Y-0 finished 2ND in group two Royal Lodge at Ascot in 2008,Back to form last time winning listed contest  at Haydock, should handle soft conditions ,Lightly raced and looks open too plenty improvement.

VERDICT :ALEXANROS Has plenty in his favour here, ground / trip look ideal and has good record in group 3 races, stable in excellent form .9-2 looks good decent value.

6F MIDDLE PARK STAKES GROUP ONE NEWMARKET

TEMPLE MEADS :Won 3 from 4 starts, impressive winner of the group two Mill Reef stakes at Newbury last time beating Formasina by 1.75 lenghs, looks very high class 2-Y-0 sprinter, should handle these soft conditions, won on debut at Newmarket on good/soft

DANGER:DREAM AHEAD looks the big danger, unbeaten in two starts and  impressive winner of group one Prix Mornay at Deaville last time should handle  soft conditions.

VERDICT :TEMPLE MEADS & DREAM AHEAD both look very high class 2 year olds ,DREAM AHEAD should go well here, though at around 6-4 represents little value ,and at the prices TEMPLE MEADS looks the value bet at around 4-1 or 7-2
