World Cup Update

The 2010 world cup has not been easy for punters ,in fact I would imagine most punters are losing heavily on the tournament the group stages were very difficult with many hard to predict results.

Personally its not been great tournament so far for myself ,though not as bad as it could been and still quite happy with the outright bet on Brazil .The figures read as follows:

CORRECT SCORE BETS:18 BETS)2 WINNERS, 6-1,6-1) LOSS 4 PTS
GROUP WINNERS BETS:1BET) 1 WINNER 2-1)PROFIT 8 PTS
GROUP  MATCHES BETS:1 BET) 0 WINNER)LOSS 4PTS

Thursdays best bets

Excellent day on Wednesday with England beating Slovenia and more importantly Two winners from three bets for 10.50pt profit.

Very surprising Requisite drifted from 11-4 in morning touching 9-2 just before the off on Betfair before returning 7-2 a very generous price considering it would won last time with clear run, and was given good ride this time by Cathy Gannon winning easily by 2.25 Lenghs.Speed Dating was very well backed 6-4 into 11-10 and made no mistake going on to win by comfortable 1.5 Lenghs

On to Thursday we have some good quality racing with five flat cards including two listed races ,though looking through the cards its looks quite tricky day and just the one bet.

HOPPINGS STAKES LISTED RACE CLASS 1 NEWCATSLE 4.30
LADY JANE DIGBY :Impressive winner of this race last year beating Syvilla by easy 5 Lenghs, looked right back to her best last time winning the Warwickshire oaks over 1 mile 3F.Good record in listed races and should go well

Four flat cards on Thursday going to concentrate on Newbury & Yarmouth ,the feature race being the Lord Weinstock 1 mile 2f  listed race at Newbury.Yarmouth stage just average card though there looks couple interesting races.

6F  MAIDEN STAKES CLASS (5) 2.10 YARMOUTH

Wednesday's best bets

Slightly disappointing day on Tuesday with 1.50pt loss.Lady Royale drifted out to 11-4 on betfair but had no real excuses, was there with every chance but never really picked up.Very disappointing she could only manage 4th in class 5 maiden after running so well in listed race the time before.

Lady of Kent travelled really well in claimer and looked the likely winner 2f out, but could never get clear run until it was too late ,though still ran fair race in 3rd and did touch as big as 14-1 on betfair.

On to Wednesday and five flat meetings ,though looks very difficult day with plenty rain forecast all over the country ,and ground conditions are likely to be lot softer than advertised .Just one bet tomorrow.

CLASS (5) MAIDEN STAKES 7F 100YDS BEVERLEY 4.00

FIFTY MOORE: Promising second last time in hot 7f maiden at Thirsk, behind highly regarded M.Johnstone trained RAINFALL who went on to run second in listed race next time at Haydock ,both the third and fifth from that Thirsk maiden have also boosted the form by winning next time, should go well at decent odds & will handle soft ground if the rain arrives.

summary of the weeks bets!!

Up and down week with small loss of 1.10pt overall,Saturday turned out to be disappointing day with 10pt loss both Jan Vermeer and Midas Touch  well beaten in the Derby behind the impressive winner Workforce.

Must admit didn't think Workforce had much chance before hand, after being well beaten in Dante stakes at York, even allowing for the bit slipping though his mouth seemed to show massive improvement in Derby though that was only his third run and will be interesting how he gets on in the Irish Derby.

Thursdays best bets

Good to see RIO DE LA PLATA come back to form and break Nottingham 1 mile course record by 1.10 seconds ,hard to believe it was nearly three years ago since his last win.Returned very fair price 6-4 after CITYSCAPE was taken out and just over 3PT PROFIT on the day.

On to Thursdays action Three flat cards ,though just going stick with the one bet, 2.40 Hamilton in claiming race.

CLAIMING STAKES 6F CLASS 6 ,2.40 HAMILTON

CAPRIO:Consistent type over 6 or 7f,winning twice this season in claiming company at Kempton & Wolverhampton ,equally as effective on turf, won class 4 handicap over 6f at Goodwood last May .Should be hard to beat in this weak class 6 claimer.

2PTS WIN 11-8 BET365,STAN JAMES

Wednesday's best bets

Three flat cards on Wednesday very low on quality apart from a decent 1 mile conditions race 4.50 at Nottingham.

1 MILE CONDITIONS STAKES CLASS 2 ,4.50 NOTTINGHAM

RIO DE LA PLATA :Former top class 2-y-o winning the group one Grand Criterium at Longchamp in 2007,though hasn't won race since and flopped badly on his reappearance at Meydan in March.Takes massive drop in class here into class 2 conditions race, and only has to reproduce his form of last season when 2nd  beaten 1/2 lengh by Confront in G3 at Newmarket.

2PTS WIN 11-4 BETFAIR 34% REDUCTION
11-8 CORALS B.P.G
CITYSCAPE N.R
